I have lurked in both your CJs for a while, but I will finally comment. Like everyone else, your roadgeekery amazes me, and your sign-making is incredibly realistic. I would love a tutorial. PHU looks a lot better than it used to, but you should really turn off your UDI icons. They are the one dark spot in your otherwise great updates.

I can't see the links, I don't think ST supports HTML. Use URL tags instead.

You can't get anywhere, no matter what time of day it is. Somewhere around 20 lanes of traffic has to condense to 5 lanes to cross the Bay Bridge. And the bad planning award goes to whichever moron decided the freeway with the heaviest freight traffic merges with the rest on the left. Force every truck to scoot over, why don't you...quote>I live in San Francisco, but I visit the East Bay often. It is so bad that I go over the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, then go down gridlocked I-580 before cutting onto Ashby/CA-13 and then CA-24 and the hopelessly outdated Caldicott Tunnels. Another horrible road, although it was mentioned before, is I-99/Bud Schuster Pkwy. If you've never driven it, it is an interstate that goes no where, in the process passing through numerous expensive tunnels. Aren't you glad your tax dollars are going to that?

Franklin County - 12th Anniversary Update, All-Nighttime Shots of New Riverside Downtown
phoenix7 replied to Patricius Maximus's topic in SC4 City Journals
A great update, although it took a me a while to find thanks to the page flip bug. The expansion seems to be growing nicely, and I don't think I have ever seen that beautiful hotel before. Central Franklin is looking great, perhaps it is time for a Hanging Cliff skyline. -
Your town is growing well. I like the little access roads to the homes, I don't think I have ever seen that before. But what is with the texture of the dirt road near the ferry terminal?

I am in awe of your city-building skills. I can picture myself walking around in your cities, which means you have made a great CJ. One tip though, turn off the UDI icons.

Centennial Province: An Interactive City Journal
phoenix7 replied to iamccman's topic in SC4 City Journals
I would like to run for Department of Planning. I also have a proposal for new development. I forgot to label one part, it is medium-density residential. Also, the grey means streets. Are we allowed to name the roads in our developments? -
I'm liking this CJ so far. I haven't seen much of your previous work, but I'll have to check it out. I love your terrain mod, and the city looks good as well. I like how there is a lot of custom content, and the residential looks like a place I would want to live in. You say you have the NAM, but I would recommend reinstalling with road turn lanes enabled. They make your cities look a lot more realistic IMO. I'll be reading.

This probably belongs in the tech support forum. I'm not sure why the stadium is messed up, it doesn't appear to have any dependencies.

This isn't my first city (it was on another computer that is now running Linux), but it is the best one I made in my early SC4 years. I'm not sure why commercial never grows for me, most of the commercial in that picture is plopped.

4 Way Avenue Intersection Problem
phoenix7 replied to Rattler's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Try renaming your plugins folder to something else and making a new blank plugins folder. If your avenues work, then it is a plugin conflict and you will have to put plugins back in your plugins folder one at a time until you find the problem bat/lot/mod/whatever. -
I am using sc4 deluxe. I go into my region's only city and it begins to load, the crashes to the desktop. I renamed my plugins folder and made a new empty one, but it still crashes. It was a conflict between the new NAM and Marrast's ancient underpasses. Thanks for the help everyone.
-
For liking the piano.

To everyone that asked, diagonal bridges aren't out yet and probably will never be made. Even maxis said it would take years.

I just read through your CJ. I looks great. I grew up in SF and now live in Marin County, so I want to see how this project turns out.

I had been looking for this for ages. Thanks
