i dont have a clue what the problem is i have tired to re-install the games and everything. the game goes black after the picture of a bridge but never shows the EA LOGO my friend has the same graphics card and his is able to play it. i run on winodws XP and have an ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 series. the i am unable to get rid of the blackness and the computer doesnt respond making me have to turn if off by the plug. even this big button to turn off instantly doesnt work. however mouse pointer is there. sorry for the amount of detail into only the appearance but i REALLY want to play this game.loos so fun it is a deluxe edition, no addons since i havent had a chance to about 170gb free and er intel pentium D im not sure if this helps: but when i closed it this time it said an optical drive had crashed and here were the detials C:\DOCUME~1\JACKEV~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER7a1b.dir00\Mini100907-01.dmp C:\DOCUME~1\JACKEV~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER7a1b.dir00\sysdata.xml

where is the command line? and when mine installed it didnt create a desktop shortcut, should i make one and do this? PS. thank you so much for your help so far

Now i know you can manually set it from altering the .exe file by clicking on the icon on desktop, let me know if you wanna try (should already be set to 1024x768)quote>how would i do this, like i said i want to try everything

i have a windows xp system with about 170gb left intel pentium d prcessor 805 erm 2.66GHZ 896 MG of RAM i ahve already put visual memory to 4096

thanks guys, i am trying all of these, hopefully i will get it to work. i dont think it is corrupt since i have also installed my friedns one which shows everything perfect on his comp, but not on mine i do not have a clue, my computer, if it was a person, would be stubborn, arrogant and hard to work with! i fel like just breaking this game. since i bought it iff amazon do you think i should try different patches, though none of them say anything about clearing up start of game

are you sure that deleting the into mod wont corrupt the game??

ohhh now youve made me scared to turn it off i have reinstall;ed ut and am going to do what sparky said to do i hope it does work then, if not, continuous hints and suggestions are extremely welcome as i will tryt hem all until i probably get this working which i will, someday

i tried that,but to no avail i will try that agin, i am going to delete sims city and then try again EDIT: WHAT THE HELL!? i have full downloaded the game,yet when i went to control panel it said sims deluze was onyl 0.o2MB big and i remember deleting the into.DAT as posted im gonna see if this happens again

i tried that aswell and it didnt work, and you dotn or do hear the "EA games" bit, because that never loads
