Good building BUT 1,830 people? Not a chance! A quick calculation just by observing the size of the building and rating it at say 10 one bedroom appartments per floor times (Counting basement appartments) 8 floors comes only to 80 appartments. So unless there squeezed in like 1930's New York tennements you are looking at tops 3 per appartment 240 people. So unless the buildings are 4th dimentional...Maxis numbers should not be taken too seriouly. Thus endith my Rant.

The New Official Next Generation Sim City Wish List
IKVNexis replied to Goldfish4209's topic in City-Building Games
I haven't read everything here so i don't know if anyone has put this in yet. The one thing I have found is that Police, Hospital fire and school zoning is totaly wrong. No municipality plops down a big circle and says if your not in the circle your not protected. All zones are delineated by regions set out along roads, rails, or other ends chosen by the city. The zones should be set by the player. To be abel to streach a zone to breaking point or have tones of zones. And I have to say that I am in favore of removing all those artificial borders. Make the entire board open. I find it spoils a good urban sprall. -
Hi I have just gotten the Collector's edition cd vol 1 and dvd vol 2. I was wondering is there anything I should download from vol one or is it all superseeded in vol 2? I'm asking because some dependencies in vol one are not avaliabel. thanks.

One thing i have noticed looking around my neighbourhood is the plethora of small commercial zones indispersed with residential zones. A lot of them are corner or convienience stores. I have not yet come across any in the game. I want to set up an area with a lot od small zones so i don't have to create large strip mall type areas. Has anyone ever done this and how did it work out?

HI. Just want to jump in here as I have lived in this city for most of my life (Beleave me thats a LONG time). Some other tidbits about OC Transpo that I like. In most of the transit stations they have monitors that are linked to computers that show the busses that go to those stations showing the time the next bus comes by. Also a lot of the stops have the time tables printed in a small box attached to the pole along with a route map. The busses issue transfers using a little computer and printer. They are printed with a time that shows how long the transfer is good for at the time you board. This allows you to ride any (except Express special busses) untill the time limit. This is usualy 1 1/2 to 2 hours or you can buy a day pass. Also the on line sight you can even plan your trip by entering your starting point and the destination and time of arrival and the computer will give you what buses and what times to be there to catch them. Nice. A better shot of the locks. Cummings Bridge over The Redieu River Just rebuilt and made up to look like it originaly did. The Tomb of our First Prime Minister Sir Wilfred Laurier. The Department Of National Defence as seen from the East block of Parliament. The U.S. Embasy right across from the National Gallery Of Canada.

Hi. I don't know if this has been brought up before, but I have noticed that police, school and fire coverage areas are incorrectly modeled. As far as I can find no city lays out its coverage as a big circle. Municipal zoning is calculated along boundries. Like streets, rivers etc. That makes shure no area is accidently lost outside a coverage bubble. I was wondering if anyone could or has made a mod to fix this? (Probly not).
