  1. Bus/Subway Stops 'on the road'

They are about all I use until my pop gets to the point I need more capacity. Even then I just change them out in high use areas. I normally place parks in front of them, the parks help raise the desirability of the area and reduce pollution. The other trick is to place them near intersections were they are on the side of the lot that faces the other street. Other good places are in front of schools, libraries, hospitals & ect. (Buildings that don't change sizes.) The problem I have had with the 2 wide lot method is that as the city grows and shrinks, sometimes the 2 wide shrinks to 2 * 1 wide lots and one is blocked.
  2. Splish, Splash They Can't Take A Bath!

Sometimes I have had trouble changing the amounts of water or power being sold too. What I find works is to cancel the deal close the neighbor deal window reopen it and then I can change the deals. Don't know why it locks on to a certain amount but this seems to unlock it with no bad side affects as long as the game is paused the whole time.>>
  3. How long have you owned SC4?

I've had it about a month now, but for the first 3 weeks I only played with several test cities. The computer guy at work was building me a computer and I didn't want to really start a full city on my old slow computer. So now I got the new computer and I've been playing about a week.
  4. Yup that's basically what I have, only mine is on a very grid pattern covering a whole small city area and even the branches exit off the map. All my workers come from the areas next to it, of course with the pollution I got I don't think anyone would live there even if I zoned for res. lol.
  5. In my industrial city I use the following and 70+% of my industries use rail instead of trucks. Road Ind Ind Ind Ind Rail Ind Ind Ind Ind Road Ind Ind Ind Ind Rail
  6. Duh, 2 simple ?

Thanks for the quick responses. This is a great sight, I've had most of my questions answered just be reading the posts and tutorials. Thanks again to all the posters for helping all us new players.
  7. Duh, 2 simple ?

A few simple questions that I seemed to have missed in reading through most of this sight. 1. Do parks and other rec sight need road access? 2. If a park raises your pop capacity by 250, do 4 parks raise it by 1000?
  8. Residential / Commercial / Industrial

I never go for a certain percentage, I just Zone what ever the sims are asking for on the demand bars. But from memory your percentages seem to be aboute what I end up with.
