  1. I have the basic version of sim city 4 and i've built seaports and airports but still come across the same problems. With seaports, the efficiency just plummets to nothing even though the city has over 10,000 industrial jobs (if that makes a difference). My main city has over 280,000 citizens and is still growing. So, I built an airport to support the 120,000 commercial jobs but the efficiency also plummets to nothing. Both ports look distressed and unused even though they are powered, watered, have road, subway, and bus connections. What is wrong?

    Why haven't the Sim City creators ever made a taxi service for their games to compliment the bus service? I would think that would be natural for any good sized city and would help decrease traffic quite a bit.
  3. The graph in the data menu shows that my residents' average income is between 20k and 30k, and generally hovers around 25k. Why is this when I have over 300k citizens, 200k of which are medium wealth residential? There are also about 50k high wealth and 50k low weath residential. I have about 200k commercial jobs in the city, all of which are at least medium wealth. I also have the basic version of Sim City 4. Can anyone help? Thanks!

    My funding is at maximum but I don't think there is a lighthouse in the basic version of sim city 4.

    But as my city grows and gets more medium wealth citizens, shouldnt the average citizen income be at least above 30k?

    What do they mean when the SC4 people say this with the update: "Port efficiency is now displayed correctly. " Does this mean ports won't go distressed anymore because mine are still showing no efficiency?
  8. I have the basic version of Sim City 4 and this is the message I got when I tried to install the update: "Update Install: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match. "

    But it has subway and bus access and is on the edge of the city of commerce and residential and bordering an industrial city.

    Hmm.. upgraded my airport to a Large International Airport and it still went distressed, even after my advisors yelling at me to upgrade. Maybe my patch isn't working right or something...

    Yea I guess that's right. But I think someone should mod a good working taxi service that has a radius of where the taxis from a particular hub will go. If I knew how to make mods and had the means of making them I definitely would.
