  1. a few quick questions

    thanks for the help. and yes, I've tried initiating the neighbor deal from all possible angles, but I'll try the omnibus.
  2. Alright, I'll just gt right down to it. In my region, my main industrial city is located between several residential cities. It has 42,000 industrial jobs with good demand for high tech and manufacturing. It contains most of my regions utilities(landfills, hydrogen power plant, water pumps) and I have a few questions about why things aren't working quite right. 1.Water I am only using about 59% of my water capacity, yet when I go to neighbor deals, my only option is to buy water. I have pipe connections, and the cities around me do need water, and yet the option still remains blank. What am I doing wrong? 2.High density I have a large area zoned for high density, it is well watered and near a freight station and the highway, and yet nothing I can identify as high density develops. Are my 42,000 jobs not enough to warrant high density construction? 3.Transit Stations This question is for my region in general. what happens to a transit station when it is over capacity? I have one train station in particular at like 450%, and it seems to be functioning normally.
  3. patch for modded game

    thanks, I ended up just cutting everything in my plugins folder to a temporary one, patching the game, and then putting the files back in.
  4. okay, after installing sc4 deluxe on my computer again after my old harddrive bit the dust, I tried to remember all of my old mods and downloaded them to my plugins folder, used them in game, and all that good stuff. Of course, only after I get a bunch of cities going do I remember that there is an official patch that I was supposed to download. whoops. I went to the simcity 4 website and looked at the patch page, and it said it would not work on a modded game. So, my question is, is there any way I can download the patch and have it work on my modded game without having to completely restart all of my cities?
  5. Sims afraid of water?

    For some reason, I can't get Sims to commute across water. One of my cities consists of three land masses separated by 2 rivers. The left chunk of land has all of my industrial, save for some high-tech. The top right land mass contains my small residential and commercial population, while the bottom right serves simply to provide my landlocked neighbors with access to a ferry. For some reason, though, my residential sims will not cross my road or rail bridge over to the industrial district, even though many buildings display no-job zots. Although many sims commute just as far to get to the jobs on their own hunk of earth, they will not be caught crossing the river. Any suggestions?

    two words: Repetitive Buildings. On my city of 81,000 the entire downtown is Brink Real estate and Reflect Systems Inc. =(
  7. Making Realistic Airports

    I think he's talking about roads leading up to the terminal, baggage claim, rental car lots etc.I'm no modder, though, so can't help you there.
  8. New Official BAT Request Thread

    If anyone could make a 2x2 or 2x3 Co$$$ of this building, that would be great. I was looking for medium wealth commercial buildings to suggest, and this looked pretty darn cool =p. I think it's called the Mira Oberlin plaza.
  9. NAM Question

    I recently started utilizing the GLR/ Avenue dual Networking pieces in the NAM, and have hit a bit of a snag. I took the main avenue of my city and replaced it with the dual networking pieces to ease traffic a little. The residential buildings along the new network, however, all display no-road-access zots. I've had this problem before with one of the avenue bus stops I downloaded, and was wondering if there was a fix to this problem or if I'm just doing something wrong. And on a semi-unrelated note, can you make GLR/Avenue connections between cities, or do you have to switch to subway or Elevated Rail first? Thanks

  11. Lot Editor - Help

    Just a Quick question. In the lot editor, lets say I'm editing a park lot. Would it be possible to place a residential building in that lot? Or are my building choices restricted by lot type? Thanks.
