As has been said... none of those questions can be answered yet. Although it may look like the game is nearly complete, it isn't anywheres close. Give them some time and space, but be sure to express your ideas, concerns, and comments. What information we have is all we're getting until the site comes up. Just the way the cooperate game runs. Don't forget that these are professionals doing this for money, not freelancing moders doing it for fun.

Keep your customers up to date and show that your company is looking out for them and cares, you're more likely to get their money. Its simple really, but its very nice. One of the few sales tactics that I truly like, but rarely see.

Ah... on that note. Would you be willing to say when the website might be launched? Early October, late October? Just curious.

What is with you people and bashing EPs? Honestly, if MC were to release this game, then come out with... say... a Hong Kong/Asian EP that added an entirely new building set of asian lots, buildings, and services... I'd snatch anything like that up before it hit the shelf. I'd do the same if they came out with one that added new climates or even just a bunch more buildings for the tilesets already out there. Theres quite a few options. And honestly... every single one of you here knows you'll buy CU, and you KNOW you'll buy any EP with CU title on it. Stop kidding yourself. Also... please please please... tilesets and zoning would make everyone here love you so much. Think about it MC.
  5. I'll prove that Glenni isn't crazy(much) and say that I noticed this too. Really hope somebody fixes it soon.

dosomthin- very nice Dubai feel, a bit dead looking though. 8/10 Shadow_prophet- um... wow? 8/10 dosomthin- again, very nice Dubai feel... but still its dead. 8/10 mrbisonm- no idea what drove you to put a factory there, but i'll overlook it. awesome water. 9.2/10 Mr. Wale says hello. Just rate the second. Left the first so you can see how dark it was. Iuno, I like it better.

I think it was something like... He wants a translator because he doesn't understand you. EDIT: Ah, yes... Russian. Russian-to-English translations are normally very crude. Not sure if we have anyone fluent in Russian on ST though...

belfastuniguy- quite cool, but a few curves wouldn't hurt 9/10 Cokatoo- as always I find your work amazing 9/10 Shadow_prophet- interesting, but the 1x1 plazas are way overused 8/10 belfastuniguy- that hillside is nuts! 9.21458/10 SpecialEddie- only thing I don't love about this is how theres no cars or sims, well... few 9.5/10 Glenni- very nice staging, great use of theme 9/10 Uh... hmmmm, nope, no good pictures to show, sorry.

I simply love how active this thread has become, such great quality too! Cokatoo- The only thing I don't like is how much the crosswalks stand out. Besides that, superb. 9.5/10 shinkansen1- Very nice, except for those horrid pink buildings to the right, and that poor grade change. 8.5/10 Godzillaman- Wow... bit, abstract. City itself seems interesting, but repedative. 8/10 Shadow_prophet- City has an interesting layout, but very cluttered. That supertall really throws things out of proportion too. 8/10 Humm... AHA!. This is from the city where I over-darkened the waterfront area. This particular section was just built on reclaimed land in the lake, borders up against an inactive volcano. The canal was created to add some desirability to the area, runs off of a spring from the old volcano. As of now I'm planing more reclamation, seeing as how this one is so popular

Funny, I actually see the two terms opposite of you. And yes, please pardon my spelling, my fingers aren't the smartest little digits you've ever seen.

It would only be offending to someone who completely acts the part and deserves the title. All it really means is new and under skilled, not like its some racist term.

ilikehotdogsalot- interesting, neat editing... does seem odly placed though 8/10 Amerikaner- nice, quite nice. seems odd for the building to be sunken though 8.5/10 belfastuniguy- not bad, seems a bit dead thogh 8.5/10 shinkansen1- seems cramped and somewhat *****-ish 7.5/10 Shadow_prophet- i don't think i want to mess with your goverment 8.5/10 EDIT: why the heck is n oob cencored? thats just screwed up

ANOTHER long list... you people are like rabbits... SpecialEddie- For a lack of anything negative to say... 9.6/10 Weihnachtsmann- nice, very nice. great use of the Y stack 8.5/10 SimsPlanet2- seems a bit too cramped and chaotic for a downtown 8/10 Deever- neat editing, but some of those roads are just, ick... 8/10 topcliff- nice, but it seems more like a blur/grainy image than rain 8/10 capitol1- for a start, its nice. but it seems very unfinished, and those pedmalls don't fit. 8.5/10 SpecialEddie- awesome weaving EL rail l ine, love it 9.5/10 Shingure- too repedetive, but otherwise cool 9/10 TheSixCents- ooooh, big boom waiting to happen 9/10 dosomthin- WAY too bright, but awesome job with the wires and farm layout 9.5/10 Deever- i look too hard at your picture and it makes my eyes hurt, too blue/dark 8.5/10 haljackey- that will just look AWESOME when RHW-8 is posible. love the stacking 9.5/10 I'm free!!!! *skips off*
  17. New Chat Server

Once the avatars are disabled and you stare at it for 20 minutes it grows on you, its definitely an improvement. I'm awaiting the return of the old smilies, or something of equal or greater value. I'm glad the Java aspect is gone, and the timestamps are a great help. However, it appears to be excessively taxing to many people. Where Firefox usually sits at about 12,000-20,000 on my processes list, its now at about 75,000, and my idle ram usage has gone from 300mb to just over 500mb. I for one don't mind since I have power to spare, but I find it concerning since a simple chat window shouldn't be THAT much of a strain, especially one as simple looking as this. By the way, tested it with IE too, same resource hike. Overall though, I prefer this one much more, great job.
  18. new build vs. old

So here I am, halfway into a new build and swamped with problems and questions alike. I'd like to at least set one of them aside, which system will SC4 like better. I'll go through each component and list the current then the new part. I've heard horror stories, but I've also heard praise, so I'm curious as to what I'll get here. CPU: current- 2.6ghz 130nm single core fx-55 AMD 1mb L2 cache socket 939 new- 2.6ghz 65nm dual core 5000+ AMD 2x512kb L2 cache socket AM2 RAM: current- 2x1gb ddr 400 cas 2.5 single chanel new- 2x1gb ddr2 800 cas 3 dual chanel OS: current- 32 bit XP Home new- 64 bit Vista Home Premium ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Those are the only defenites, OS may become Ultimate, but I'm not certain. The rest here are posible but not set in stone. Video Card: current- Radeon x800gto 256mb gddr3 DX9 new- GeForce 8600GT 256mb gddr3 DX10 Let it be noted that my video card is poorly made and unstable, constantly conflicts with my nvidia chipset and causes crashes several times a day. My hard drives will stay the same, a 600gb (2x320gb) sata 3.0 raid 0 array. I will upgrade my dvd/cd drive, but only to make it sata. So... did I miss anything? Just tell me what you think. I may upgrade to 3 or 4 gb of ram later down the road, but for now 2 is fine. The parts aren't really up for discusion, the motherboard and case have already been bought, and the cpu is the fastest one out there that meets my dual core am2 65nm requirements. EDIT: And not that it really matters, but I'll also eventually buy sound card to save a bit of cpu power, as well as a 20" widescreen LCD and a decent sound setup. I'm on a 14" non-widescreen lcd with built-in speakers from about 4/5 years ago... it cost nearly $600 at BJ's. Have at it.

Amerikaner- nice, but the trees around that monument are a bit too much 8.5/10 dosomthin- very good layout, nice choice of buildings. when do i move in? 9/10 Weihnachtsmann- very cool teraforming, but the maxis buildings sorta hurt it 8.5/10 ryan04- odd angle, the palm hotel in the forground isn't very well placed either 7.5/10

I see Maxis. Big Ben, Smithsonian Institute, and the 3x3 plaza. Buildings came from god page 7. http://members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/somy000/ dosomthin- very very nice, could've benefited from switching to narrow canals at parts, just to make it feel a bit more close and urban 9/10

I'm shelling out $400 for pc upgrades, fancy $100 photo editing programs that take weeks to figure out never interested me. Photofiltre is what I got, little more than a fancy MS Paint with some little color effect things. I just put that to greyscale, messed with the contrast, and droped the brightness about, then sharpened it of course. Hmmm... I just fixed a problem I had. All the colors were wacked in my games, couldn't figure it out. It was my moniter. Now that its fixed, I realize the editing was really shoddy, I'll try again tommorow, really came out bad. Chew on this old one until then.

Clearly neither of you have seen real dense fog at night, thats what you'd see. Lights, large outlines, water that melds into land, roads that look like ice, a very surreal and cold look. But eh, I can't change your mind now can I? Also, the only feelings I had any posibility of hurting were Deever's, and even at that it was playful critisiczm. He does a lot of great work, and I just thought I'd say flat out, that that was not close to a good one, something I'd expect from someone far below his skill level. Either way, your perception, your opinions. Hrm... there. You can barely notice the difference though, sharpened it up to make it a bit less blurry. Can't give an origonal though, never saved it.

what the... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was just about to hit post, and firefox crashed. damn peice of garabe... anyway, i'll say that there were many great ones, and several not so great ones. deever, your last pic was utter garbage, you try and make a wind farm again like that and i'll take your game away. A very, very, very foggy night on the waterfront. Yes, its greyscale, but it really does look like it has color. Weird eh? EDIT: did a slight modification to the pic
