1 500 000 Nogorois A l'occasion d'un point presse sur l'avancement des travaux de l'Exsud, la Municipalité a indiqué que déjà plus de 200 000 nouveaux habitants étaient venus s'installer à Nijni- Novgorod. La population de l'agglomération a dépassé le chiffre de 1 500 000 habitants. L'Exsud, la plus vaste opération d'urbanisme que la ville ait jamais connu, consiste à développer le centre-ville en direction du sud-est. La desserte des nouveaux quartiers nécessite le prolongement de plusieurs lignes de métros (M1B, M3 et M4), l'enfouissement d'une partie du Périphérique sud et la construction de plusieurs ponts sur la rivière Nijni. Aujourd'hui, seul 1/3 du programme de l'Exsud est réalisé... encore de nombreuses années de travaux en perspective !

Une colossale opération d'urbanisme est engagée sur les communes d'Essemecé, Hesdin et Mérives : l'Exsud. Elle consiste à déployer la ville vers le sud, jusqu'à la rivière Nijni. Le point sur les travaux : - l'aéroport d'Essemecé, définitivement fermé, est en cours de démantèlement ; - la 1ère tranche de l'avenue de l'Exsud entre la gare de Frecelles et le périphérique est terminée ; - le parc des expositions a été agrandi et réaménagé pour mieux s'intégrer à la ville. L'agglomération compte aujourd'hui 1 400 000 habitants. PS : le sud de l'agglomération n'est plus qu'un vaste chantier et le Maire, soucieux de l'image de sa ville à l'étranger, interdit la publication de photos des travaux.
