  1. Hey, thanks for reading / browsing through my first update. Like all good simtropolis citizens I thank you for taking the time to read through this, aswell as the time it may take you to write a comment if you are so inclined. I will read all comments and try and reply to every last one of them. As this is really a personal experiment, both the layout of the thread and the CJ itself I appreciate and consider all tips and tricks you guys will hopefully throw my way. So thank you again, and I will see you hopefully in under a weeks time for the second installment of Gnetus. Comment away.
  2. EXTREMELY slow download rates

Im downloading fine, 200kb/s and up most of the time on multiple files, I think its where you live, your router type, how far you are from your wireless if your on wireless, etc...
  3. Moving into Palooka

I can see the pics in your first 2 posts, but not the one right before you posted if that is what you mean...
  4. Gnetus - Part 1 of Update 2

Hey guys, I've got a very large update in cooking right now, at a stage somewhere between being poked and prodded to make sure its cooked and it being pulled out of the oven. I have developed the area to the south of what I have shown you, and in the proccess lied to you already - but those are the only hints I am gunna give about content; maybe one teaser pic will find its way on before I edit and post the full thing. Its currently pushing 200 screenshots, so I will have to edit it down considerably - but I have taken into consideration all advice, so I will include the 'making of' style in this next update. I of course do need to reply to my first patrons: @Blondie: Thanks a lot, the font is called WC Wunderbach incase you want to use it yourself . I would photoshop some tree's for around the edges, but I would rather not risk making it look tacky - we all play SC4 here, we know its limitations. Ill just try and avoid being at that zoom level when taking pics of that town from now on. And yes, I am using a couple of mods and demand modifiers, I have all the regular ordinances ticked along with many other radical ordinances - but I will be limiting the use of these to the downtown's of each metro area, mostly because then you need much to much commercial to make it realistic. @Teep Wow, thanks to you I realised that I was missing a single tick on my graphics settings, so those are up. But the problem of the driveways was a missing texture file, that is now sorted out. I also grabbed a bunch of packs of plopable fields thanks to you, although they are mighty annoying being only 1x1 fields . @Fatty: Thanks - as said above I will include development pics now! @35263 Post Count: Thanks @Hawk: Would you believe the time to photoshop all of them was under 5 seconds? Hehe - maybe I will throw out a tutorial later on to apply the simple things I have here, its very basic - glad you find it so effective! But what do you mean allign? I have them centered, which should make it appear centered on everyones screens, when I put my resolution at 800,600 it still works, not sure what the problem is - Ill allign them left this time, see if it helps! @Pedro Ambass Hehe, thanks a bunch, what appeals to you about the region shot - seems very basic to me . Also what do you mean 3000 like, I skipped that one after 2000 haha! Thanks to all the replies and I mean no offence by the names!

  12. Culdan

Other than the fact that the runways are a little small this is an extremely realistic CJ and something that anyone wanting to have an impressive realistic CJ should model on.

  20. Picklet Valley

Wow, a very good start to a larger city journal, although I would definitely recommend a couple things. - First, remove some airports, while they do look good in larger cities, you have a lot, and most of the runways end in a large building. - Second, check those roads, a couple of the ones beside the airports look very bumpy and are a good several floors off the ground. (Same applies for railroads) - Turn off zots, (Tastyzots, if I recall is the code) so that you cant see the silly green cars everywhere.
  21. Culdan

Looks very good. I am trying something like this in one of my cities, although not to the same extent.
  22. Columbus Ohio
