  1. SC4 and Windows7

Running Win 7 64 bit here and I've had glitches. New drivers and tinkering with the nVidia Panel options seem to have fixed everything except for the "lag while scrolling" problem which I can only fix by turning shadows down to low.
  2. Yes, AA from the Nvidia Control Panel does work. I've found that under "Antialiasing-Mode" the option "Override any application setting" reduces jagged edges around roads in the same amount regardless of the option under "Antialiasing-Setting". However, most other objects in the game will be unaffected by AA and some may appear slightly fuzzy.
  3. There are plenty of good games out there but only one SimCity. When I want to play just a good game I play just a good game, when I want to play SimCity I play SimCity.
  4. scs guinea pig

What you people are experiencing now I've already gone through with another EA game so I can tell you what you can expect. I was a C&C fan and when I heard that a new game will be released this March I was excited. However I was disappointed to find out that instead of being faithful to its immediate predecessor it was going to adopt a "going back to basics" philosophy (sounds familiar?) which meant a lot of elements had to be sacrificed. Time went on, the news didn't get better and eventually the game got released. My fears came true that it wasn't the game I was hoping for. And I wasn't the only one that felt that way. But the game sold well and it's still selling well and pretty soon it'll get an expansion. That expansion will most likely be the other half of the game that was purposely left out as the original game had an unfinished feel to it. And yet people are also going to buy that expansion. This is what will most likely happen to SCS. It won't be the sequel to SC4 we are all waiting for, it will be unfinished to make room for an expansion and yet it will probably sell very well because of the popularity of the series. So this is my advice: Don't buy the game just because you're a long time fan; be very careful in making the decision whether to get it or not. Because the only way we can send the message that this isn't what the fans want is to hurt their profits. If we don't hurt their profits they'll be less inclined to listen to us.
