gt, to make building ploppable, just read and follow simgoober's excellent tutorial "Making a functional landmark lot" it's located in the omnibus section of this site. It's a fairly easy process, at least in comparison to modeling. As far a number of jobs, I use the formula of 10 per tile multiplied by the number of floors in the building. So 2X2 3 story-lot would have around 120 jobs. I then add or subtract from that numbr as I feel is necessary. Excellent work!

Very nice work! I'm taking a bit of a break myself but hopefully I'll have time next week to finish something!

hey, great job so far! Nice use of custom content. Ahh, cobb's stuff is the best

pilotdaryl: yes I would like to do NAIA, but that's going to be a while down the road (unless of course someone else does it in the meantime) It takes me 2-3 weeks to complete a project so my wish list is just that. gt: cool building to bat! Do watch the scale tho. It may just be the preview render, but I'd suggest that the real building when translated to SC4 is a 2X2 lot. So i'd probably use the following scale: 24m long, 20-24m wide (Depending how sqaure you want it) and 3.5-4m tall per story. Just a suggestion. Looking good in any case.

I'm trying to create a Jollibee's restaurant, commonly found in the Philippines, for my filipino cities. I would very much appreciate any comments and/or help you'd like to give me. Here is a preview of my work so far: Obviously I haven't started texturing or lighting yet. I'm almost done applying the window frames and window dividers. The dimenstons are 24 wide, 12 deep, and 10 tall (all in meters). Here is a couple of representative Jollibees for reference, though I am specifically not trying to re-create either (above is a really large one in Baguio) (above is a more medium sized one)

You guys don't like balut, it's yummy (not to mention a little crunchy) I also like Max's though the best pancit comes from those little mom and pop stores. My favorite food still remains San Miguel tho... wayway: I'd love to make a really big mall, but 750m is 47 tiles, almost 20% of a small city, way too big for my tastes (and I suspect many others). For a future project I'm thing of making several large buildings which could be placed together any way you like into one complex like Glorietta or Mall of Asia, but that's for later. As an aside, I've always wanted to go to Davao and Mindanao in general, but my in-laws get very nervous when I mention this. I hear it's beautiful. Since size was brought up, how big of a lot would you guys generally consider downloading? My plan for this project is 12 long and 8 deep. In the end it is still important for me that any piece I make "fits" within the game. PS: filasimo and wayway I I visited your CJs and really loved them. Anyhoo, time to get back to work, it's my goal to finish something today! Stay tuned...

Wow, my piece headlined this thread. I'm honored! Thanks gt... I'm also happy to see that there are others interested in this subject. I took up batting mainly to supply my own cities with pieces I wanted. I'm thrilled there is a demand for this type of work. I'm mainly focusing on two types of projects: 1) Iconic filipino commercial/residential structures like Jollibee and SM, and civic landmarks 2) More generic structures that "feel" filipino. If anything is missing on the STEX it is more gritty urban (and rural for that matter) buildings like you find in Southeast Asia. Basically I would like to create more scenes like below: Anyway, here are some of the projects I'm working on or want to work on: SM Mall (in development) Sari Sari stores (in development) Quiapo and San Augustin churches NAIA airport palengke (open produce, meat, and fish market) Manila City Hall and the Post Office A set of Spanish Colonial homes A set of commercial buildings like above videoke bar Manila Hotel More malls, like Glorietta and Mall of Asia (the most requested btw) More filipino restos like Chowking, Max's, Shakey's, and a larger Jollibee A baywalk lot A set of historic spanish-era buildings like those found in Vigan and Intramuros Chinese Cemetery LRT/MRT stations Hotel Sogo and of couse Jeepneys! This list is not complete and very ambitious, but I've got to do something in my spare time. If anyone has specific suggestions or favorites from above, I'm happy to try to do it, just try and include a good pic or two. One thing tho, I'm less keen on doing skyscrapes because I feel there are tons of really great ones already on STEX. I have my own thread on this forum and will post updates there and save this thread for final pics. Wow this is getting long, anyway I'm happy there are others out there who appreciate the architecture of the Philippines and willing to spend the many many (did I say many?) hours batting them.

Richard24 thanks for directing me to that forum. Very helpful. SM is becoming relly taxing for me, may backburner it for a bit... bixel, I do plan on doing that Jollibee later when I feel I'm better at this. Thanks for compliment. gt, I think our own thread is a good idea. Here is a pic of where I'm at so far on the mall. Still in very early stages. The billboards will change, this is just to give an idea. Below is a pic of the SM Megamall. I'm not duplicating it, just using it as a starting point.

Haven't stopped by in a while, I've been busy. I'm currently working on a SM mall similar to the Mega Mall, I'm getting close enough to put up a preview pic, so stay tuned. I'm also near completion of a set of sari sari stores, and I will post pics as soon as I can (probably early next week). Specific replies since last time: richard 24: sari coming soon, would love any pics you have of those buildings you requested jaquelina: your stuff is beautiful, so I thank you very much Dark elder,X spiderman & Momo: thanks! Filisimo: Thanks. Sorry about your funny tasting burger gt6282: your bat was great! Still the comments about the number of jobs may be right tho...still the building was fantastic. Where is it and what is in it? Final note, just for the record I am not Filipino (though my sister-in-law says I'm practically filipino because I like diniguan and balut ) but have been to the Philippines many times and will likely go again early next year. I love the country and the people and I hope I capture the feelings I get when I visit. I'm getting better with Tagalog, so I don't mind if your responses have it in them. Thanks again everyone, time for bed!

walang anuman richard24. I live in Chicago, but get to the Philippines once a year. My next project is an SM mall, similar to the Mega Mall. I'm happy to fill the void and make more pinoy bats. Other projects I want to work on : Quiapo Church and surrounding marketplace Manila City Hall Other filipino restos like chowking, shakey's A baywalk lot Spanish colonial homes Videoke bar (for sure!) San Augustin church NAIA (Manila airport) There are more, but if anyone has specific request feel free to drop a note. I'm going to open a new thread specifically for my pinoy bats so keep checking back for more. I've said it before, but I'll say it again, maraming salamat (many thanks) for all the help I've received on this site, especially Jason's tutorials. It's been very reassuring to recieve compliments and suggestions from some of the best.

Well I finally uploaded Jollibee to STEX. Glad to be done with the bright colors. My next project will definately have to be something a lot less kid-like and something with steel and glass. I'm thinking a mall (filipinos love their malls). Anyway, here's the final in-game pics. Below are some of my first stabs at batting, just for giggles Thanks again for your comments and support. PS: Simrabbit, I wanted to learn how to mod myself, but perhaps I'll take you up on your offer for future projects.

Wow, beautiful work. I guess I need to make a western city so I can use these pieces -
Very nice work so far.

I did forget to convert the pics to jpg format, sorry. Jasoncw and benvoliothefirst it is a bit bright, but I think i'll keep it that way, cause that is kind of the essence of Jollibee, it' loud and bright and you can see it for miles away in the Philippines As an aside, it's been rewarding to receive the compliments of some of the very talented people in this group. Thanks again!

TOOPS. Sorry, here are thin in game pics. Thanks again for your praise everyone. To patriots_1228 Jollibee is the filipino version of chuckie cheese, cool of you to pick up on that. I've got a couple of in-game pics below: Day Night. The lot is a bit basic, because I just wanted to test it out in-game for proportions and style. All in all I'm pretty happy with it. I also need to mod it, as it is Landmark only now. Hopefully I will have time next week to finish it and upload it.

Thanks again for all your kind words. I have basically finished it, with just a few small tweaks I'll be ready to export it and play around with it in the lot editor. Here are some (semi) final looks at it: The views are East/West at top, and South at bottom.

Thanks everyone for your support and ideas. I've nearly finished texturing and editing the main elements. Below are some updated pics. southview east-west view Next up, roof junk, nightlighting and small details.

thanks so far for the help. Here's a new awning

What a unique take on the cj format. Reading these things can sometimes be monotonous, this cj is a breath of fresh air. PS: love the Kentucky fried accent!

Love the pics so far, wonderful job!
