  1. I've had problems with the arena converting medium wealth tourists to low wealth. It attracts medium wealth tourists that turn into low wealth tourists upon entering the building. The arena displays a certain count of medium wealth tourists and you can even see them enter the building, but they do not show up on the data view - they show as low wealth tourists on the data view. When the event lets out it's all low wealth tourists leaving the arena and filling up hotel rooms & gambling halls. I had a decent gambling city where this was a major problem. I ended up abandoning gambling entirely as a result - there was no way I could make it work with all low wealth gamblers and the arena eating all my $$ gamblers. I also saw a problem with the high wealth tourists not seeing my high wealth hotel towers. They would drive around the city, say there's no hotel space and leave... meanwhile there are three functional high rise high wealth hotels sitting empty, sandwiched between a cruise ship dock and train station. Good luck pursuing the gambling angle.
  2. I've sen extended periods of zero crime until one of the following happens: 1. A casino goes in nearby or you put one in your city 2. The city hits an unknown education to population size ratio - small uneducated towns are usually crime free. 3. Your city becomes well connected to a nearby city with a crime problem.
  3. This is the town of Particle Board, Population 10,000. The town is built around coal extraction and low taxes/low services and grew slowly, neighborhood by neighborhood. I tried to build in the natural clearings, preserving as many trees as possible... not like my sims care. The bustling main shopping district, town hall in the background: Here's the middle class neighborhood, facing town hall: One of the first neighborhoods in the city, full of small homes and a nice iced cream shop! Industrial ground zero: It's a good thing these hardy pioneers are well armed because there was a zombie outbreak (due to inadequate healthcare, no police, and low taxes) which reduced my population by 2000! It was pretty epic but the zombies ate my firemen, causing a permanent lack of firefighters (had to bulldoze)! These buildings were demolished and a mall sprang up in its place... a fair trade off.:
