I've been experimenting a lot with Project Orion, and mostly seeing how much i can build outside the border. I've already hit a point where my game just freezes if i build a few more things onto it, so my guess is that using too much in the mining/trading, can easily cause the game come to a standstill. I know others have got much larger cities using it before, and my game doesn't seem to have any lag even before or when it freezes, so i can't really explain what's happening. Either way, I'd say this mod definitely breathes air back into this game, it's refreshing to be able to build towns and small communities divided by larger cities all on one plot.

Biggest city contest? Can you beat 500k in 1 city?

That's not a very hard achievement in my opinion, but getting 1 million in a single tile sure was. I don't have a picture of that exact moment, but i did achieve it with and without megatowers (and no mods). This is the only picture i really had displaying the population in the hud, but the region had many other plots that were anywhere from 500,000-1,000,000 -
I'm an avid Simcity player, and have put in almost 800 hours to this game, i don't use mods, and I'm always striving to get higher and higher populations. . I have tried everything to alleviate traffic congestion, all the while having a region with 8 million sims, and a single city with over 900,000 population to test different layouts and configurations. Some of the things I've found is that when you start building a great works, you're almost guaranteed to have more problems, but it can still be managed with good road planning and different sorts of tricks to keep your population away from the entry point. Here is some example highway layouts you can try if you're having trouble with traffic. Sure it takes up space, but you might want to consider making a small traffic maze at the entrance of the city to let more cars into your cities. The intersections on this road actually make the traffic less free-flowing, and cause some vehicles to just enter and turn around after on their way into the city. Whereas if you smooth out the corners more cars can get into the city with a whole lot less gridlock situations. Here's an example with a city that has 840,000 sim's and a very small traffic maze at the entrance. People that say there's no room aren't looking at the factors. Less abandon houses, crime, fires, and no abandoning houses due to traffic congestion. This city seemed to have no gridlock traffic at all, because of the short distances between destinations, as well as keeping the highway intact from the entrance of the city and making a large box around the whole of the city. Also if you want low wealth cities, that's how All in all these are just my experiments, I'm sure there's better ways still out there (without mods)
