  1. Has this bug been reported?

I've fixed it...somewhat...I placed 4 Small Water Pumps to help the big one, instead of the other big one that was buggy, It works, probably is less expensive too, but I still would like to know what's going on here.
  2. I've been having trouble lately with one of my cities. It keeps yo-yoing from 160,000 to 220,000 Sims, and I couldn't figure out why, until I looked at the water grid. However, if I add a new pump and connect it to the grid, it doesn't work at all, and only supplies water to the properties immediately surrpounding it. It's strange, because they are immediately ajacent to each other, but one of them is normal...and the other one's like this. how do I fix this?
  3. I'm making a comeback!!!! In my opinion, if you quit, you lose. So I'm trying this again, and seeing as my most successful if you can cal it that CJ was my newspaper-based one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U70CtSBe3HI Video teaser inspired by Zelgadis' trailer! YOU ROCK IAN!!! You've inspired me to try this thing again too! Oh, if you were wondering, the thing at the beginning is my "company logo", really just a one-man outfit, because I make videos in my spare time. I'll be using this thread for my CJ as well, and I'm REALLY looking forward to this one.
  4. Having trouble getting this to run again

Thanks dude! That's EXACTLY what was wrong...although I wonder why old games won't recognise new cards like that....Seems to me that they SHOULD, but...
  5. And it ran fine last time, so I don't get what I did to it. I pick it up again and I've run into a problem: It RUNS, but when I zoom up close, it stutters, like I've got framerate problems, but that's simply not possible on my new(ish) machine. Specs: P4 with Hyperthreading running at 3.2GHZ 2GB RAM (Upgraded from 1 GB which is the last time I've played) 512MB GeForce 8400GS (upgraded from a 7300GS when the fans bearings conked out) Windows Vista Basic (Again, it ran FINE last time) I'm beginning to think that it was the compatibility setting I used that's at fault, since I set it to run as if it were ran on Windows XP SP2. I know the game sometimes has crashing issues on Vista, so I figured I could fix that, but I'm not sure anymore...I want to get it up and running, since I found one of my BEST regions on one of my flash drives recently! (PRAISE THE HIGHER POWER!) Might make another attempt at a CJ too, see if I can lay some creativity on y'all.
  6. It only happens on some tiles, usually on the default map. I put roads in, and zones adjacent to the roads, and supply power....and the "No Road" ZOT pops up. They're there and everything, and I don't know why this happens. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
  7. Bad Days: a CJ by Draconiator

Okay...I'm going to try this again, but I'm reserving a post now, so I don't regret it later. I'm not ready to go yet, but I thought you might want to see my region I'm going to use. Edit: Scratch that, I had no idea that I had finished all the towns I need already, so I just need to type out the story, and we'll be off and running. I'll tell you if I need to build more cities, and oh, I don't use things on the STEX, I did, but I'm a naturalist...unless I need something SC4 doesn't have. This story revolves around one person's bad experiences. They get so numerous that he begins to wonder if a curse had been placed on him...and if so, from where...?
  8. I had it before, but my hard drive crash forced me to reinstall everything, and I need 'em. They give you something like 5k, 10k, 50k, or 100k, depending on which one you used, and they look like a grass lot with a black pole, and a colored box on top. Anyone know what this is?
  9. Gotham City

I've found a way you can make this CJ a little better. Use The GIMP's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gimp) "Cartoon" filter. Like take for example that hotel panel: Here's what it looked like before: I was fooling around with different filters in GIMP, and I thought...."hey, this Cartoon filter would be GREAT for Eddies' CJ, so I applied it to the above picture, and got this: What do you guys think? I think it would really match with the drawn art.
  10. Blah, I'm FINALLY back...

Sorry about my extreme absence, but Jewel Coast is no more. For like some months, I began to have a video card problem that prevented me from even loading the game, and then a few weeks ago, my main hard drive gave up the ghost, and I was without a computer for a week and a half until my new recov. CD's came in...I can play SC4 again, but oh my word...all my work went down the drain. I'll try and come up with a new CJ though...as soon as I learn how to make map divisions, since I need a large piece of land to do what I'm planning; even larger than what the game offers as default. ARGH!
  11. The growth of URSC hopeful Jewel Coast

Update #3! I've gone a different route on this update. I made a video with music and uploaded it onto YouTube, so you can see how Jewel Coast is doing. I didn't include all of it, though. But what I DID include is it's neighbor cities. Anyone who knows SC4 is going to tell you that neighbor cities are equally as important as the cities itself. Here are the write-ups: Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPJQ3OpHIgI Oh, I kind of had trouble with FRAPS, as you can see... Jewel Coast you know about already... Harnesville has always been a small farming community. It prides itself on the quality of it's produce, which is touted as among the best in the entire URSC. The highway, IRE-1 sees heavy usage from freight trucks hauling fresh produce to neighboring Havron and Boyd's Hill. Boyd's Hill started out as a similar town, however, the mayor saw fit to slowly grow it into a city. You can see that some of the farms still exist. The mayor cannot get rid of them, as the city saves money by growing local produce. However, it it FAR less superior than produce grown in Harnesville. Foothill has a rather turbulent past. Way back when the last house on main strreet (seen just before the camera reverses direction) was deep in the middle of nowhere, the founder of this tiny town arrived, searching for his lost cat. Inspiration struck like a ton of bricks, and he built a town just south of the house. He did not know that wierd things have been going on in there for a long time prior, and soon died of insanity. To this day, none of the residents go even NEAR that house, as strange ghostly apparitions have been seen in it's windows. They have even spread. An office building downtown is home to TWO entities, but they are FAR from friendly, as two employees were found dead recently. Cause? Unknown...

UPDATE 2! Thanks for all the comments so far. Mut my game doesn't seem to be running right at the moment...It started out OK, but... (P.S. I had TONS of fun making this update.) So what did ya think? I was playing this city when I got the idea for this kind of thing. "Problems" with the game that affect your computer. I had so much fun making this I blew away an hour without realizing it. New update when I can think up another problem.
  13. The growth of URSC hopeful Jewel Coast

Next update coming shortly. Here's a hint - Most people make stories about the history of their city. Some give you tours, I'm doing those things...but what would happen if in-game disasters happen to your computer as well? You'll see what I mean...
  14. The growth of URSC hopeful Jewel Coast

Uhhh...I've seen other cities, and I agree custom content DOES look nice. However, I like to stick with the originals for some reason. But if I see a building that would look nice in an area, I'll make it historical!
  15. This is kind of like a half-CJ, because I don't have a storyline, but I DO show the growth of a city, so...here ya go. -- https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/Draconiator/JC1.jpg
