You need this patch to fix your graphic problem, because the original simcity 4 mac CD is for mac's with PPC processors, not intel. The patch adds support for intel macs. I had this problem and installing the patch fixed it. What you need to do is install simcity 4 on your macintosh hard drive or you wont be able to apply the patch (seems to me your running simcity directly from the cd or the .dmg file). Another alternative is installing windows boot camp, I'm running simcity on my macbook pro in windows xp and the performance is much much better than in OS X, plus the game has much fewer glitches than the mac version.
