I'm from Europe, but have worked in Toronto and other North American cities for years now. I'd bill it as the scandinvain city of North America, the fact that the city is clean, multicultural and work quite well: the transit, raods, etc. Overall the achitecture are not spectacular when compared to say NYC or Chicago but I believe some major projects are in the work, involving architects like Daniel Libeskind, Frank Gehry and Norman Foster. When dig deeper you'd find some nice historical architecture, but I don't think they have done much in terms of preservation. I like living and working in Toronto, though it's not a world class tourist city. It is, however, a major finance and business centre in North America, behind NYC and probably Chicago in some aspect. Though I don't like it when people compare to NYC, when Toronto can be a unique city of its own.
