RE: El Burro's tower in post 01/09/2007 07:11 PM SIMcityFoUr: "Tower is overly large, IMHO." AaronPerry: "El Burro looks great i love that tower but compared to the housing block it doesn't look proportional? maybe its just me 7/10" That is Sutro Tower, a television/radio transmission tower on top of Twin Peaks in San Francisco. It IS huge. It's 900-some feet tall, AND on top of a 900 foot summit. If it were a building, it would be in the top 50 tallest in the world. So fault El Burro's artistic decision to include it in his city, but not for it's innaccuracy or unrealism. More info on Sutro Tower (P.S. No ability to preview on this board, so if I've mucked up my tags and blown the margins, mods, have mercy on my soul)

This is my favorite thread in Simtropolis. I love the "sense of place" some of you have. I'd put up a picture of my own, but the only one I have is from SimCity3000! I'd nearly given up on Simcity4, I couldn't believe how boring it was compared to SimCity3000 where I could "plop" any building and make my ideal city. But now that I've found this site - not only can I do that, I can download a bunch of new things that look even better than what came with SimCity4! Now I just need more than 256k RAM...
