  1. Graphical Distortion in Region Mode

I'll update on the progress. quote> Ok, so I did some testing and found that it's not the usual ATI culprits. Tried w/o Crossfire, disabled Catalyst AI, disabled Adaptive AA and same thing. So, back to running it in XP VM for now.

Originally posted by: halicem I also have this issue. I feel your pain, it sucks especially for large tiles since you most likely won't be able to play the city behind it. Its hit or miss for me, but I find quitting sc4 has a higher chance of avoiding this vs going back to region mode. I still battle with it, I've been trying windowed mode and not full screen and it seems promising so far with reduced instances of that happening. My specs are: AMD Phenom II X4 810 Gigabyte 790FX-UD5P 2xATI Radeon HD4870 CF 4GB DDR3 1066 Vista Ultimate 64-bit We have CF in common so I think that might be it. Yeah, its a bit overpowered for sc4 but its one heck of a fun game with a great community! (dear EA and MC... graphics isn't everything)quote> Nice specs :-). 3. Graphical Distortion in Region Mode

Ok, so the question now is...... Is it something with the version of Windows 7 that people are running? Is it Retail Win 7 versus RTM/OEM Win 7? Is it Ultimate versus Home Premium, or 32-bit versus 64-bit? Something worth checking out.
  4. Graphical Distortion in Region Mode

And I know from experience that windows 7 is capable of running the game. If you have 2 core processors, try changing the affinity to only one processor. If not that...well...I don't know.quote> Thx :-). I'll give it a try. Right now, I have it running in an XP VM. I'll keep playing around with it and see what I come up with. I have a feeling that it might be related to my video card drivers, but not too sure yet. Thank you for your help though :-)
  5. Hello All, Win 7 Ultimate x64 here. SC4 RH runs great. The only problem I have is that my graphics are a bit distorted. my cities in region mode show up as yellow/blue/green blocks, and in the cities, my sims and cars are distorting (flashing in and out). Here's the thread I opened about it. Still no responses yet though. https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=24&threadid=113293&enterthread=y
  6. Ok, so I've had SC4 Rush Hour installed thousands of times on my PC. I can't say that I've ever had this issue before. I've ran without all my plugins and same thing. I've downgraded my graphics drivers and options, and same thing. I'm wondering if it might be an issue with Windows 7. A picture of the distortion is attached. PC Specs are below. My PC is very capable of running the game, but I don't quite understand this. It's currently on "hardware rendering", but I've even tried "software rendering" and still the same thing. Any ideas? AMD Phenom X4 9850 ASUS M3A79-T 2x ATI Radeon HD3870 (in CrossFire mode) 8GB G.Skill DDR2-800 Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
  7. No Hardware Mode

Whenever I set my graphics settings to hardware mode and restart the game, the settings return to default except for the resolution. Anyone have any ideas? Here's my specs: CPU: AMD Athlon64 X2 6400+ Mobo: ASUS M3A32-MVP RAM: 4x1GB GeIL DDR2-800 Video: ATI Radeon HD 3870 OS: MS Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 I know my system can handle it, so I know that's not the issue, I have a lot of plugins installed - could that be an issue?
  8. Why did Maxis abandon SC?

I've looked at most of the posts in this forum, and one question remains for me, why did Maxis abandon Sim City Societies? They created and developed this franchise, so why now did they leave it to another developer? I have played all 4 Sim City games, always pre-ordering the new one before it comes out (Still have disks for all of the old ones too). I'm 25 and have pretty much grown up playing Sim City. Can anyone answer for me why Tilted Mill is developing SCS and not Maxis? I'm sure there are a lot of others that would like to know as well. - Darkvette
