  1. The new Sim City 4 Expansion pack

well, I know that gshmails, but I just wanted to express that, don't worry anyway.
  2. The new Sim City 4 Expansion pack

I know Maxis won't do it, but many people would like an EP, as SCSocieties does not please every one. The problem about making an EP on our ownm is that, people have donde a great job here, posting tons of buildings and additios, but despite of that, there are many things that can not be done easily. Maxis created the game, and they can do things like creating a ground light rail GLR that doesn't have to be donde tile by tile. The same applies to the elevated road and other things. maxis can change the interface menu but we cant, maxis can add more tileset options, we just can add more buildings, and set them to grow on certain tilesets. We can not asignate zones to a determinate tileset, and more things as well. It is maybe too son to say that we wont like SCSocieties, but as far as I know about it, I don't like it. Though the releasing of SCS and a new EP yould make everyone happy.
  3. Hello everyone. Someone suggested a new expansion pack for SC4, as SCSocieties may not make us happy. I am sure most of us would like a new EP, but it just might be too late, deluxe editiomn was already released. Also Maxis is busy with spore and the sims, so I don't think they'll ever release a new EP. Despite of that, let's discuss what you would like the EP to include: -Many fixes -Maxis made NAM, with all its features and even more. Propperly working GLR, elevated roads, new higway pieces and such things. Easy to make roundabouts, streetcar avenues, with the streetcar rail intead of lamp posts and trees (Toronto is a good example), or over-street train (like in Chicago and New York). Tunnels would also be a good addition, highway tunnels would be extreamly expensive, but you would save space, and have a better traffic flow (the Boston and Madrid underground highways are a good example) -Improved naval tools, to give more importance to teh water. A mayor mode canal tool. Propperly working seawalls-riverwalls; small canal ports, with watter taxies and touristic boats. Bigger passanger ports, to link far coastal cities. Navy port reward, that should work as a military base, giving you money, but polluting the waters, creating low wealth jobs and such. -Terrain brushes. For god mode, big terrain brushes, desert, regular gras, dry gras, and tall grass, as well as snow. For mayor mode, small brushes, dirt, park grass and concrete-asphalt. -New trees. For mayor mode and god mode alike. -New architectural styles: this might be the biggest feature. We already have old american, actual american (both north american) and actual european. So, wha'ts left? Old european and asian. Each ploppable building, like hospitals and schools, should have 3 variants, the current one, for the american, and two neo more, for the asian and european. I am sure many people here would be please to help Maxis making this imaginary EP. in fact Simtropolis has a lot of old european and asian buildings. An entire tile set for Paris can be made, as well as one just for Hong Kong. The diferent architectural styles should be assigned (if wanted) to the zones you like. That way you can have a chinatown in the middle of your big american city, or an old european downtown surrounded by apartament buildings, and small cores of medium height comercial buildings. I think this should be more than enought content for an EP, but I would like to read your ideas and thoughts. Sim City is a game that gives you the chance to make the city of your dreams, or the city you want, and then manage it. That is the basic of the SIM CITY formula. All the ideas that I listed here, are in agreement with that point, because those changes should be enought to make almost everything you dream of and desire, it's SIM CITY guys! keep it alive.
