  1. How do you feel about the SCS announcement?

Ok, my thoughts. SC4 has reached the limit of urban simulation. Yes, I think it has. It's a huge game as it is, so building variety is only for those with mega-computers, diagonal construction is a utopia (But I'm no developer, so...), the road and transportation options only lack in A. Highway Interchange variety, B. Mass transit hubs and connection and in my special opinion C. No road option between street and road. Truly, there isn't anything else one could want simulation wise.. Therefore, If I want realism, I play SC4, and who knows, if the SCS turns out well, SCS it is for fun. However, the lack of micromanagement sure has me worried. And one last thought: How can one plan a city w/o zoning option? Very little developing needed by the company itself, and heck, the game would be going the way the 'net is going (Open source etc.)
  2. Greyveils Transportation Tutorial

John: Diagonal Avenues should be avaible without any mod. The problem you might be having is connecting straight to diagonal. You need to connect at the tip (1x2) of the straight avenue, otherwise it will not connect. If you can't drag diagonla avenues period, that's got to be a bug.
  3. Greyveils Transportation Tutorial

I found this out by myself a month or two ago, since then my largest city record has gone from 40k population to my current behemoth of 600k. I use bus stops at every intersection, next to every transit stop etc. I think the key to getting a large, working city without spending to much (heck, I'm cashing in twice what I spend on MT on fares), is to use busses and later subway and maybe monorail or el rail. Of course, I still have traffic problems but that's only in my CBD, and my overused subway . Great guide!
