  2. Will China collapse soon?

so why have millions of cubans emigrated to america and are even planning parties in miami for the day that castro dies (just a thought) but it is true that cuba has probably been the most succesful communist country. not that i like communism now back to china.........
  3. Our Mini Earth

good job really liked venice and im so happy u added a touch of switzerland as well
  4. American Vs European Architecture

exil3: ive heard of that city in yemen and seen some pictures in a book so i know what you mean (it looks pretty cool) but when i mean skyscrapers i mean towering office buildings like mannhattan or chicago and how they have evolved into the style of newer skyscrapers in asia and europe. Anyway when i said that, i was just reconciling with favrekev(i think) a page earlier who said i was being too pro european in my first post. so go figure one minute im being too pro european and the other im being too pro american.
  5. American Vs European Architecture

. i didnt mean europe is way better and america sucks as so many people on this website say, im just trying to say that europe has such diverse architecture because of it's history, in many cities in europe you can find ancient roman ruins as well as medieval cathedrals, baroque palaces and modern office blocks. anyway most of the architectural styles found in america were originally imported from europe. however i do acknowledge that america did invent the skyscraper. im saying that if i were a tourist looking to experience some amazing architecture i would more likely travel to an average european city, than to an Average american city. american architecture for the most part evolved from older european architecture whic makes them hard to compare
  6. Will China collapse soon?

communist china is overrated, if it were to collapse we would recover much faster than they will. china depends on western investment, if all multinational corporations pulled out, china's economy will crash in minutes. what sickens me is that western politicians and corporations are ever increasingly sponsering a communist country with a horendous human rights record. communist china is trying to fill the void left by the soviet union, but by depending on its enemies (the west) i have no idea if they ever will get there. people on these forums constantly speak of communist china as if it has already dethroned the U.S. as the worlds leading economic power but if you look at the order it is still miles behind america, sure it's growing but how much longer Rank Country GDP (millions of USD) - World 44,384,871 1 United States 12,455,068 2 Japan 4,505,912 3 Germany 2,781,900 4 People's Republic of China 2,228,862 5 United Kingdom 2,192,553 * i'd like to point out that in terms of purchasing power china is second to the U.S., (3rd if you count the E.U), but is still 25% smaller than the U.S., this is mainly due to communist china having such a massive population (this is also the reason why india is 4th).
  7. it is very nice!!! can't wait to see more
  8. American Vs European Architecture

american vs european is impossible to compare, europe wins simply because of the history and wide variety of styles, but america does hav a few exceptions such as new york, chicago, boston, etc.
  9. Our Mini Earth

i dont mean all of them but i would be happy to see one, after all geneva and zurich, are (remarkably for their size) major world cities, and if im not mistaken somebody batted bern cathedral, but you are right beskhu3epnm its hard to put a lot into europe because theres so many possibilities and so little space.
  10. Our Mini Earth

great cj but why dont you put a swiss city in your europe: bern, zurich, or geneva would be great. i see that you are putting vaduz, leichtenstein, which is only a tiny mountain town in the map, but other than that i love what you are doing so far. you should put prague in as well
  11. Toronto VS. New York

i wouldnt say that toronto is the worlds most diverse city as some here have stated or even as diverse as new york, the whole identity of new york throughout its history has been shaped by the arrival of different immigrant groups which have all left a mark on the face of the city (dutch, british, german, black, irish, italian, jewish, chinese, puerto rican, etc.) in my mind new york is by far the worlds most diverse city. as stated by someone before, only a torontonian can come up with a thread like this
  12. School Pranks

in grade eight me and a few friends went to our old elementary school for the school carnival (it was really lame). and for some reason the fire alarm went off (cough cough, someone pulled the alarm, wasnt me) but thats not all, every classroom in the school held some sort of event (musical chairs, cake walk, etc) so when everyone evacuated the building and the fire trucks came, me and a few friends sprinted around the back, reached into the cake walk window and stole every cake we could reach, we then hid them in the woods until the end of the carnival and picked them up after everyone left
  13. Buenos Aires Forum

that un world developement index thing doesnt seem right for me, italy spain and japan are a little bit overrated and germany is underrated i guess argentina is a second world country but still has quite a long way to go. to stay on topic i was realy surprised that buenos aires had such diverse archeticture and i think the world really needs a kilometer high tower it would just look so cool.
  14. Suburban Sprawl

i think im saying the exact opposite of everyone else, i hardly do suburbs in simcity (too lazy to plan out the complicated streets and cul de sacs), but i dont mind suburbs in real life as long as they are denser and walkable, rowhouses are cool i guess, but not to close together (at least have room for a little backyard, but not to big, i hate mowing the lawn) i like the look of european suburbs i guess
  15. ~Crossrivers/Vontaria/Queebly~

i love these high density style regions but i dont like your display pic lol go colts!!!

  17. The SimTropolis House of Worship

muslims dont believe that jesus is the one true messiah, son of god but he made it into the koran anyway and is regarded as a major prophet
  18. The SimTropolis House of Worship

i have been reading through this thread and i found out that many people believe they are atheists just because they believe jesus wasnt the son of god (but they still believe he was a great man who did some great things) or that they dont believe the creation theory or that people are non religious just because they dont go to church every sunday, many people say that they are atheists just because the church has through history done many bad things such as witch hunts and hording money and keeping secrets from people (these things tell me that some people in the church throughout history havent acted as true christians) you dont have to go to church every week or take everything you hear literally and act all bible obsessed, to be christian u just need to follow the main theme of the bible, praise jesus for what he did in his lifetime and believe in god. i used to be extremely atheistic and i know many people who still are, some people are so unnaccepting of anything that isnt scientifically logical they live very stressful lives (dosnt mean they are bad people). i guess i am now a very moderate christian and hey arent we all children of god
  19. What Music are you listening to right now?

    super tramp-school
  20. The SimTropolis House of Worship

i personally dont really care if events in the bible happened exactly as they were described, this took place 2000 years ago, in that time dont you think that the story has been changed or modified, the point of the bible isnt to be an exact history, it is a moral guidebook, it was made to teach people lessons about how to live your life and how to be a better person, people shouldnt have to argue if the bible is fact or fiction, it is neither, it has helped people through their lives and it can make someone a better person, it promotes charity and caring, and that jesus looks over everyone, this is the main point every holy book of every religion it teaches good morals

  25. So, how do you feel about Toronto?

i just cant find any reason to like toronto, its nice and green and has big parks but so does everywhere else in canada, most people believe vancouver is way nicer, and toronto is probably the worst city in canada, its not that multicultural, many cities in the world have a far higher percentage of visible minorities, and the absolute worst thing is the smugness of the city's residents and how toronto is believed to be the center of the universe, just watch cbc for a day and notice how every newscast starts with something about southern ontario and how the rest of canada has had to watch leafs games every single weekend this year on hockey night in canada.
