  1. Is Tilteded Mill Aware of Us?

That's something I really don't know...SimCity Societies, although a dramatic turn from what used to be SimCity, has good concepts. While I want EA to realize this isn't the SimCity 5 we're looking for, I do want Tilted Mill to succeed. I hope EA will make Societies a "spinoff" of SimCity, as The Sims 2 Life Stories is.
  2. Environment bar always red

Well, there's two "types" of pollution: Air Pollution and Water Pollution. See which areas are most polluted in terms of air and in water pollution. There are custom objects that reduce pollution dramatically; search "Air Purification Plant" at the STEX for air pollution reducers, and "Reverse Osmosis" for a water pollution reducer. These are amazing, a few of the Air Purification Plants can drain out all the air pollution of my Dirty Industry.
  3. I think SC:S is a "spinoff" of SimCity...similar to what is happening with The Sims 2 Life Stories...it has relation to The Sims but is played in a totally different way. That's what SC:S is. And I thought a while back didn't EA say SC5 would be out in late 2008?

  5. Cities start being abandoned

Hmm..thanks guys. So maybe I should zone High Density slowly? Also, do you guys consider the monorail the most effective form of transportation?
  6. Hey guys, its been a while since I've been here...I've been exploring other games . Anyways, I'm back on SC4 again...and I have a problem that's been with me ever since I started playing SC4. So I have a nice growing city, demand is high and services are good, the population is happy. I have loads of bus stops, I have a subway network throughout the city. So my city passes 50'000, so instead of creating more residential zones I decide to "push upwards", so I zone for high density residential. In the next few months a huge construction boom starts and high-density apartments start appearing. Everything's okay, and then the No Job/Can't Get to work symbol starts showing up. All clustered around the same area, the skyscraper area. And then soon the skyscrapers start getting abandoned, and the buildings turn black. I don't really understand...all the services are there, they have mass transit and they aren't far from the work districts (Industry and Commercial), yet they still get abandoned. And before I know it I have a mucky area of tall skyscrapers. I should note that there is demand in Commercial and Industrial as well. High demand for all incomes, and new commercial and industrial buildings are going up, but still the No Job/Can't get to work symbol shows up everywhere. How do I fix this problem? Have I been building my city "too quickly"?
  7. Random shut downs?

Okay. Thanks for the advice. I just tried setting the processor to CPU 0 only, and I didn't notice anything different in the game, it didn't crash, but my game doesn't crash every time, but it made the whole game laggier. Any suggestions on why?
  8. Random shut downs?

i tried setting any program on affinity just to familirize myself with it, and it says "CPU 0" and CPU "1". is CPU 0 a CPU, or nothing?
  9. Random shut downs?

I don't really know if the city size has anything to do with it YET, it crashes at 150'000, or 40'000 population (with subsequent Industrial and Commercial districts) It does anytime it wants. I have the nVidia GeForce 6600 with 256 MB of Dedicated RAM. It should be WAY enough to play it. I never paid attention to if it happens when I zoom out. But whenever I play U-Drive-It, it is slow (kinda jolts, and lags every 5 seconds). I don't think there is routine where it crashes, because sometimes when I'm placing police stations, or getting ready to dispatch a fire truck, etc. etc.
  10. Random shut downs?

The only plugins I have are the 4 billion a month park, the air purfication plant and a reverse osmosis water treatment plant. Any known bugs in those? Or...how do you turn the processor ot affinity?
  11. Hey everyone, I don't get why my SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition is randomly shutting down...its been happening for a few times now. I'm just in the middle of working a city, the whole screen goes black and I'm back onto the desktop, nothing saved, no icon. And no, there is no SIMCITY 4 on the taskbar. What gives? I have an two Intel Pentium 4 CPUs with 3.0 GHz, and 1 GB of RAM. Isn't that WAY above the requirements, and above even recommended settings? HELP!
  12. The Capital of the World!

I vote Hong Kong. Because they're peaceful, bustling, pretty, and has a good education, health and safety program. No offense to all the Americans that voted for NYC, but you're a bit too biased, saying "because its the epicentre of the world". It does NOT have the largest population. It does NOT have the tallest buildings. It does NOT have the highest population OR building density. Now I have some questions to ask about the fact that UN is headquarted at New York City. First of all, let's face it, as "fair" as UN is, its just basically US controlled. And how can everyone be equally treated when only a few countries make the Security Council, and all the rest sit outside awaiting the results? By the way, who decides which country enters the Security Council? THE SECURITY COUNCIL. Sorry if I'm harsh, but I just want people to know that Americanism has gone too far.
