CHASE CITY by: Topcliff"CITY OF BRIDGES AND HIGH-RISES" TECHNIC FILEStarted on: July 16th, 2007. Reviewed on: July 29th, 2007Views: 625 Replies: 83Current Update: 3rd F or one reason I decided to say “yes” to Topcliff’s pm’ing: the first view. I could expect that this city would be simply great as you pass the pages, and even more exciting to see that sprawling downtown. Everything at the beginning is correct. Great planning. You can see that the surrounding area of those developing building is just empty, so you know beforehand that the downtown is the main part of this city, and that everything is going to be around the CBD. The seal shows a phrase that makes me think that this will be a Commerce City, and that there is going to be a strongly growing city, and that its patterns will be changing every time. Now, talking about the transportation layout, we see from the very beginning a large traffic network. A concept designated for Rush hour and metropolitan transit. That is a great planning and a great vision too. We can see that there is a large river bordering the downtown, and there are bridges that connect the central zone with the mid-town. We have not seen housing development so far. But there is something we can expect. Some CJ polls are being hired, and that is perhaps some announcement of a very large event there. Can not wait until the city is completely developed to write the second part of this review. Yours faithfully Juan -

EARTHSEA – MYSTICAL LAND - by Narya Started on: December 30, 2006 Status: ongoing This CJ is an accurate recreation of what I can call a medieval themed region. Narya has showed her skills for making this type of cities, each one featuring it feeling and natural style. The region is a beautiful valley surpassed by rivers, with some little hills and relatively big mountains. It features almost all sceneries seen on this world. Beaches, forests, prairies and a variety of flora that is masterfully used in such a space like that. Rocks, trees, animals, it seems to be planned just to perfection. Those waterfalls at the very beginning are obligated to watch with care. Every detail is charm fully planned, with flowers, streams, ponds, pleasant meadows with fauna. Excellent use of Peg’s. The mystical theme of this one, is showed through the fauna is spread over the region, Dragons, Unicorns, etc… and the narration of the origins of human specimen, so creative and such historical images she uses on there. Primordial aspect of this CJ, that probably wouldn’t be the same if it doesn’t have the breathtaking use of Adobe Photoshop. The effects are used in the precise moment, diverse textures, colors and shapes are managed in the correct way. Two thumbs up for that. Another excellent idea from Narya, is the system of orders. A way of motivation for visiting her CJ. There are four, and each one corresponds to a specific number of visits and comments. The Earth Sea land, also gives some visitors the title of “Sir” or “Lady” if the order of Dragon finds them friendly to he. The city is a little town, well organized with a nice dragged road network and good STEX selections. Excellent green areas, which merge inside the urban zone. Another important fact to say, is the usual appearing of The sims 2 for some dialogues between the characters that are now part of the CJ itself, such as the Sirs and Ladies, complementing a great plot to follow everyday. Simtropolians Guide to the Virtual World By, cowcornStarted on: December 11, 2005 Status: Ongoing A great storyline introduces this CJ as an isolated virtual community. He describes his first town as a picturesque center port, which is surrounded by a charming community, with hills and shorelines. The pictures he takes of the town are in plenty autumn, and thus, the shots are actually for exposition. Everything is very colorful and very well organized. The region is a great demonstration of how you can play with the Terraforming tools of the programs development, a Huge area surpassed by rivers and touched by hills. A hill overlooking the city, is one of the most scenic landmarks in there. Everything is red, yellow and orange because of the trees that of course will change until the next season: Winter. In this part, he combines the RL with the Virtual World, and describes the feelings of the person who is reading: Wayne. That reminds me a little bit of the Neverending Story. The transportation layout is griddish, with some cul-de-sac endings. The roads are mostly covering the towns and some highways connect the cities over passing the vast region. He also wants to show the rural management. Pleasant places which are a good showing of a relaxation and charming ambient. He makes an Excellent use of Pegasus instruments; ponds, streams, overlooking Tower. It is a pleasure to see that distribution in such a way like that. Pictures are very scenic, pretty aesthetical. A nice showcase, that could be for exposition. Thanks cowcorn for sharing. RHF Originally posted by: waway625 how do i get my CJ reviewed? i mean do i have to PM a specific critic or can i just request one here? quote> No you should PM an active Critic, and give the premission he asks to you, what is that? TIERRA DE LA OSCURIDAD - By BlondeTwiggy Tierra de la Oscuridad (literally in Spanish: Darkness Land) features a flat region, with cities sprawled over it. The landscape is beautiful, the Olympic Terrain is a great add-on to this charming green cities. The trees, the nature, the plants priority, are what BlondeTwiggy wants to show us. She has a system if different cities across the entire region, and everyone is featured in one/two and probably three updates. So if you do the math, you’ll realize there are many agglomerations. The introduction was magistral, the pictures showed a high quality work on them, the beautiful BATs she uses, and the great red-roofs combined with the trees in the Poumpons and Aurora landscape. The page two shows the expansion of Aurora. The transportation layout is tending to be diagonal and un-griddish, a very interactive network. The satellite cities are also a great feature here. Askia and Monetti are beautiful red-roofed towns, where the Sims seem to be having a great time living there. The banners are scenic and the presentation is magistral. Twiggy also interacts with the visitors creating a very nice place to talk about the cities, with fun and laughing. We hope to see this CJ for long time more Twiggs! RHF -

ATHENEE - Paletexan The legendary Paletexan came back with another masterpiece of SC: Athenee. The city evolves from an early 20th Century town into a glowing agglomeration. As the previous creations from Paletexan, the city features a very realistic development, previously planned in a paper stamp. In chronological order, he mentions various times or ages while the city is under development, and features a ultra-realistic chart of the street patterns during the timeline. The adaptation answers to the real street system in the USA, Grid, Lollipops, Loops, Parallel Lanes: Rise and Fall of the Automobile Culture. The credited BATs, the pictures well organized, and its own website are manifestations of his interest and compromise with showing his work. About the website: Is well organized, as stated before, in the Simtropolis Official City Journal, ordered in chronological order, with subdivisions of pictures between 10 years; a decade. The region is a valley surpassed by two rivers. The pictures of the entire region are generally to show how the transportation patterns have evolved into a more efficient network. The pictures have been previously edited with very good developed skills of Photoshop. The high quality of pictures let the people appreciate his work. We hope another CJ from this legend launched and more cities added to Favorites files. RHF -

AZALEA CITY - Charles Rodulfo The starting of this CJ by Charles Rodulfo, is the mentioning of his inspiring techniques from some forumers like jeronij, darmok, terrymunweihao or mrbisonm. A proud SCJU member, this region features the Kingdom of San Marino, which it’s first and capital city is Azalea, Haarlemstown, Melsville. Azalea. The first views of the city contains a high percentage of sea walls, due to its location, the pop terraforming method is also very interesting to see in this CJ. Roads are dragged already and the zones are designed too. This first look is very nice because you can see all the planning of the city and you can see how organized it really is. The terraforming, as stated before, is very complex. The shores, the mountains and a Mount that is the Offspring one, is a red-looking stone over looking the city and San Marino, very beautiful landscape there. Then we see how artistic the city is going to be. The trail parks and the flora props are artistically located for giving the city a great harmonious ambient. The boardwalks in front of the river (or sea) are also a distraction for those who want to live in a pleasing town. There is a part of town, which features the industry zone, which is mostly, manufacturing and High tech; as we can see there, the rail system operates there. The trail parks are always there, in every place In every corner and neighborhood there is always a thinking to the children for playing and relaxing. The suburbs are great. Well planned, the transportation grid is awesome, and the houses are strategically distributed, trail parks and fountains are facts that Azalea is not missing in terms of City beautification, planning and transportation. The streets are brick paved, and every difficult detail he shows, he makes it funny for all the community to see it. The pics are great. The effects of the picture editing are masterpieces and the colors are bright, the masque and those simply details that make something really great. There is also a great friendship between the Republic of Nivramel and San Marino. The first already opened San Marino’s embassy in its territory and it’s great to see how those are in contact. Another great event was the announcement of the joining of Azalea to the SCJU. That was joyful. Waiting for more of that great city RHF -

PLANTATION BAY - Luker91 This is the second CJ created by luker91. The successful predecessor San Lucas and this one released on November the 20th. The first region shots, shows a huge valley, with two rivers and a large coastline. The terraforming is excellent. There are little hill surrounding the rivers, and finally in a corner, we can see a snowcapped peak. There is a peninsula, near the coastline and obviously making a gulf, which is the place where the development starts. That little village is very promising, because the transportation system is such according to a Metropolis’ one. So we can deduce that at once. There is a narration sequence, which allows the people to locate better and much easy into the context of the CJ, which at the beginning was very suspicious. Many shots and many “tomorrow with more” but everything was right because the next things were amazing. The neighborhoods are very organized, the transport grid is normal according to a demand like that. In terms of commerce, there is a lot. Parallel to the freeway there are a couple of roads, each having the stores and restaurant that are very common in the American towns or cities. A McDonald’s, retail stores, a supermarket, are the principal commercial developments there. Crossing the gulf by a huge bridge, there are a lot of beautiful and well organized farms, and agriculture. There is also a large seaport, with al the basics for a great city, we can say this is going to be sprawling because of the transportation system, the commerce, the potential industry and the seaport is also an important fact there. There is also rail, assuming there will be many satellite cities surrounding the big Plantation Bay one. Let’s talk about Nature. The nature is great. Very “Northish” or seasonable. The trees are sub alpine from the CPT and combined with the terrain mod he uses, the view is really pleasing. The National park he shows in the last update, features a lot of cabins and cottages, great for the resting of a huge city. There are also little connecting rivers, making the zone a rich water area. That’s great for the region And so it’s beginning I can’t review more for now until I see more development there. Good luck Luke! RHF -

AVALON - sephaistos The city of Avalon created by the French Sephaistos, is a great experience for the people who want to see a great CJ. The region is a huge valley, and the river is wide and long, this makes the city an important seaport. Some snowcapped peaks are overlooking the region and the city. The region views are great, because sephaistos shows the people how the city has been growing first, by overlooking the growing town from the highness. The downtown is beautiful; a lot of custom buildings and trees are showed in those principal pics. The parks are also very interesting there; the trail parks are acting as a boardwalk over the sea’s edge, making those landscapes very pleasant to the visitor’s view. Large and wide avenues are in the middle of the skyline, with pedestrian malls, and parallel roads connecting the rest of the CBD as a limited access way. There are also great sculptures there, obelisks, landmarks and I’m sure the city is glowing because of that. The city has a huge transportation system, including EL Rail, and Rail; there are also a lot of bus stops. The atmosphere of that transportation system is showed by the principal Train Station a huge custom BAT, incredible located and awesome looking with a lot of parks surrounding it. The styles of buildings are merged, modern and not that modern combines to form a great overlook if you’re in an airplane. There are showed modern buildings such as the COBB at the beginning of the CJ, and classic, in the same zone. This, despite some people doesn’t like that style combination, is not hard for a person’s view. The residential zones are great, just stunning. Just in Port Lavaca, The river-borning is so pleasing that you want to live there now. Layout is great and the grid is accomplished with the high rises and medium ones. Julia Creek district, one of the latest updates of the city, shows an enormous bunch of buildings, commercial and residential, looking awesome. The stadium and the monuments are incredible looking and makes the city as a model for other ones, for those who wants to start a new CJ, or just playing SimCity with a clear concept of a city. That’s Avalon RHF -

ENIYI - Menotyou Eniyi, this CJ created on August the 29th, is located on a shore, surrounded by plains and little hills. From highness, the view is awesome due to the high density of skyscrapers in different places because the cities are separated one to each other. This is a fact that makes this city a sprawling community with satellite towns, such as real cities like Miami, Houston, and Chicago. The looking is great because of the high density of skyscrapers there, a lot repeated and a lot made by custom downloads. Looking forward to more of the Cj, you will find little islands are inhabited by low wealth houses and hard topography. Great acting as satellite ports. The city has an excellent sport grid system, and that can be showed in the pics of those custom sceneries for the different activities, like preparing for the Simlympics, this is a well organized complex and with a lot of space. There are a lot of satellite skylines, all of them are well planned and have the basics needs a zone like that can demand. The transportation is good, well planned and has features such as Monorail and Rail system that is very important to connect those one-into-another city, the roads are very organized, and the grid is almost perfect, specially the diagonal ones. There are not many green zones inside the urban area, and there are huge of them separating some specific zones as the university and the government complex. Though there is no Terrain Mod at the beginning, the city looks very nice because of the trees. There are a lot in those few green zones I mention above. Very important fact that identifies this Cj: the maps. These are clear and well showed, good size, everybody can read them, and realizing how really big Eniyi is. Because of its size, Eniyi features a lot of posters showing the name, very useful for the visitors. They don’t even need a description before the pic, but the pic is saying it with one word. That’s important there. For ending I just have to say that a lot of imagination is there. I like it very much and thanks to the creator Menotyou. RHF -

CASANARES - by Jerebannus XVI Entering this beautiful city is always impressive. As Jerebannus develops the CJ, you get amazed with the pics, showing the city he is sharing. Every corner has detail, and you might get stunned with the monuments and excellent picture editing, with a reddish effect. Finally you say: OMG this is impressive. The principal city, Santa Eufrasia, combines all contents that a city has to have: canals, Sidewalks, Monuments, and an excellent transportation layout. Jerebannus shows at the beginning, that his city was going to be South American themed. you assume that because of the images and the names. The CJ progress is around a couple of principal pics, Mosaics. Twice of them are from a same place, watching during day or night, with excellent resolution and detailing. As the city grows, the mosaics grow and the people can see more than 3 normal pics in one making this a very useful method for CJing. The neighborhood development is based on a street grid, where the buildings are medium density and there is not over-capacity, making the condo, very pleasant. The trees also make a good starring there giving a private touch even though the houses are located almost Wall 2 Wall. On the other side of the bridge, crossing a wide deep blue river, we see the industrial zone, always as clean and organized as the residential, where the great part of it is High Tech, you don’t see this region polluted because of that fact. Note that the industrial zone is always on the river shore. Away from the industrial, separated with a wide avenue, we see residential again, the accomplishment is almost perfect, with those custom buildings he shows the people everytime that Santa Eufrasia is a glowing Metropolis and has to expand more and more as the city demands. The Monuments and landmarks are a very relevant fact in this Journal, that’s very important because the city becomes very original and with personality itself. A lot of magnificent custom structures domains the overlook of the city, showing the visitor that this is a center of business and commercial deals. The City’s newspaper, “La crónica alternativa” is perfect planned, with informative sources and surprises every issue. The instruments of this paper are essential for the City in development and, as mentioned before, show, in every page and chapter, that this is a great metropolis, growing and demanding space all the time. Thanks Jerebannus XVI for sharing this magnificent CJ to the community. Remember Trixie Time!!!! RHF -

Here comes a Review FORT FOLLEY METRO AREA - 1dera3 INTRODUCTION: The following review is going to be about the 1dera3's project, Fort Folley Metro area. There are 3 pages, and 5 updates. Despite his quitness, this is a very important CJ to follow. There is a large banner, showing a region's map, with modern flash-running-like letters. This fact allow the visitor to understand, this is not going to be an historic CJ. Then when you look at the next pic, a great gateway entrance to the city welcomes you. Excellent idea 1dera3. the first pic is the entrance of the city. Just like you're traveling by car between cities. That gives you a very nice idea of how the CJ really is. (Note how every pic is numbered by update.) URBAN DEVELOPMENT: Looking each pic closely, you'll find a world of details. Even though the city looks like typical, there are facts that change you the ideas and think "OMG this man made this very realistic" And it's true. Those trees are great. One more time thanks jeronij for those seasonal trees. Thanks 1dera3, that nature is awesome in you city suburbs. Something that is very relevant along this CJ, the canal. The canal gives the city an artistical and pleasant ambient, and you feel like being there. The canal has its own boardwalk and statues are bordering the water. As mentioned above, there is a bunch of detail in this city. Do not ignore the sidewalk network, excellent arrangement. There is large-wide avenue in the middle of the city (it seems to be a limited access road) and avenue intersections in the borders. The commercial around the avenue is great concept of central development, while in the uptown are the suburbs. The trees also are very important in this CJ. The city has an excellent transportation network, incluiding sidewalks, bus system, ElRail Monorail, and a strategical distribution of the roads and streets. Gee, this CJ is one of the most realistic and detailed here on ST. I am not saying that is the MOST, but is an example of how the basic tools can be used, with custom content. Thankyou very much 1dera3 for sharing your CJ with ST community. RHF -

Great banners there, i really like them all, but time for a review. With the permission of crazychickensc12, i'm going to post the review of: TRINITY RIVER VALLEY (TRV) - by crazychickensc12 Statement 1, First Look: Just when you open the thread, you will find a large banner, with an excellent artistic background pattern, showing the principal welcome nameplate. The table of contents is available below, with all the pages developed until today.(10)There is also a link where you can go directly to the last update. Overlooking the pictures below, making them the first update, you will find the nature shots, watch out how the pìctures are artistical bordered, and see how every update has its own banner. The images show the visitor how the CJ'er combined the nature with civilization, making it a very joyful and pleasant region. Statement 2, Nature: If you look closely to the Cj, you will see snowscapped peaks, river shores, and plains, all of them excellent terraformed, with a great space management. Watch out how crazychickensc12 has combined those facts to make a beautiful arrangement, with woodlands being the priority. Clear water is also a fact that allows the visitor to feel peace itself. On river shores, crazychickensc12 has organized a tropical tree forest, making it a very greenish city, important thing if you don't want pollution. Great distribution there, Congrats. Statement 3, Urban Development: The first thing that the CJ'er shows to you, is that everyplace is surrounded by trees, as mentioned above, this fact is a way of showing the connection of all the towns, but with their privacy. Trees make you feel kind of isolation, but always connected in the city. The development consist on a commercial zone in the middle and the suburbs, adjacent to the river, great planning there. The first buildings there were the Port and The bridge, connection is always a relevant in this CJ. The commercial zone is basically shopping centres and malls, making it a peaceful city and not being a metropoli. Comments: -Incredible terraforming, the mountains are carefully treated. -The river layout is great, very realistic. -Urban development is organized, having always the trees in mind. -Pictures are showed as a cadre, very artistic and impressive backgrounds. Thankyou, i really like this CJ RHF -
Originally posted by: DocRorlach If other city tiles do not crash the game, look into the plugins. Especially if you built ports (seaports or airport cargo), and you use both BSC and Pegasus ports. There is also an off-chance that a third party port that does not comply with either the Pegasus or the BSC port master file can cause crashes. If all your city tiles for a region cause CDT's, but other regions load, then you certainly have a buggy plugin somewhere. Try to think back what you recently downloaded and remove that first, to see if that solves the problem. Otherwise only the long and ardeous process works: remove all but the essential plugins (NAM, SAM if you have it, any official patches from Maxis). Test if the region now loads - never mind the brown boxes - you are not saving it if it does load. The start by bringing in one quarter of your plugins at a time, testing each time if it still works. The moment you get a CTD after restoring plugins, you know where to look for the faulty one. If none of this helps, only a clean reinstallation will do the trick.quote> I did this and the buggy plugin was actually the Olympic Terrain Mod. That's so weir 'cause I had it when I used to have XP, but I'll try with Columbus again. Now I'll have to be careful with some plug ins, they might crash game again (and it will be time loss also) Thanks
-
I've got troubles with it also. Just tried to load up a city tile and then the game crashes, and shuts down. Mine is 2GB RAM and 320GB HD. I've downloaded NAM, Olympic Terrain Mod and some growable lots. No idea of whats happening to it.

Looking forward to some pictures. Please start a CJ providing some images, don't leave us intrigued.
