1. Lag, ATI catalyst & hardware profile

Thanks for your answer. I have the latest catalyst...6.4 or something...or 6.6? Don't know...downloaded it a few days ago. SC has terrible lags. I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128 MB, a PIV 3.2 ghz, 1 GB ram. It SHOULD run fine!

I set the shadows to minimum and converted to 16 bit. Now it runs smoothly.

But I want to run SC on maximum details as my computer is good enough. I created a profile for SC in the catalyst center. With antialising set to "let application decide"...but no change. Or how should I configre the catalyst center for SC4?
  2. Lag, ATI catalyst & hardware profile

Can someone explain to me how I can use two versions of ATI catalyst on the same computer? When I use two hardware profiles I can't use two versions. Using two logons (windows profiles) doesn't work either. How can I get SC4 get to run? I don't want to only install 5.9. I want to use two versions.
  3.
Hi,

I've read in this forum that Catalyst 6.2 causes problems with Sim City 4. Yes, it does! I have a 3.2 Ghz PIV, 1 GB ram, ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB. There is terrible lag. After reading in this forum, I created a new hardware profile. Uninstalled the Catalyst 6.2, installed Catalyst 5.9.

Now Sim City works as it should. But each time I boot my computer I get a cls.exe error. And the 5.9 catalyst is installed in both hardware profiles. The control center is not there any more, it isn't in the settings any more but when I rightclick on my desktop.

Any idea? How should I install and use the two profiles so that I have catalyst 6.2 in my normal system and 5.9 in the Sim City-profile?
