  1. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Amerikaner - There's currently no rich shopping centers in the Island of Newark. There is a small Mall shopping center off of Exit 4 of the East/West connector. Would you like to see it or would you like to start your own? Show me where you'd like to start your own if thats the case, and remember... I'm open to querries. Currently, Eaton is the wealthiest side of town however South Island is developing and plans on quickly overtaking Eaton. South Island also has higher land values. iamihop11 - Wow, quite a project! No problem! The only quest I have, and it's simply to clarify is the white square on the 4th image, is that your house? I should have prices up by Monday or Tuesday... Maybe earlier it just depends. 2nerdy4u - Agreed, this is really getting good... Benedict - I'm super sorry, I totally forgot to include a map and photo's of your new railway, I'll set asside a special update for you next go round! ODST_27 - Yes I'll get photo's of that for you within the next mini-update! iamihop11 - Lina Town! Okay thats sweet of you, I'll see what we can do! MPTC - That'll be up next! 2nerdy4u - Keep me posted! jacqulina - Thank you! I might need to form a team, I just have to figure an efficient way to carry out the tasks and functions between members and then I may start inviting. Alright lets kick off some requests! ________________________________________ First being, and nearly long forgotten was that ObladiOblada wanted to know how much the Roswell Park Condomeniums costed, back from page 4. I'll let this image speak for itself... Hopefully that satisfies your request, if you have any further questions, feel free to ask. Next, 2nerdy4u desired to see a grid of Lina Park... Simply tell me what area or areas you're interested in and we'll get closer views! Okay, Now lets go and have alittle look around Newark to see the work of our contributers! ______________________________________ First I'll be proud to announce that Lina Park's construction is WELL underway! An suburban community concieved by iamihop11 seems to spring into life with new hopes for the future, providing residential developement in the Millidgeville Community! Second, The Eaton Bridge Road Work is complete! After the leveling of terrain and construction of the tollbooth, the engineers left behind a very undesirable grade as Highway 4 Descended into Eaton. Highway 4 Leads Directly into the Seaport and this was unsuitable for trucks thus the issue you see now was resolved and converted into... ...a far more suitable grade! Post Cards for the tourists! The new toll booth is in place and fully opertational. Eaton residents must either pay to get to Downtown, or commute north and use The East/West Connector... Close up on the new toll and grade... The entire bridge as it stands and forever a monument in the Hystory of Newark. The South Island Bridge also faced simular changes as the Mayor handed the bridges over to politcally remove the chamber of commerce from their debts... The reserved funds will now ail the city council into developing a Police force and Highway Patrol... Unlike the Eaton Bridge however, there is no alternative routes around the new Union 93 Propaganda and Tolled Bridge. Many South Island Residents are furious of this matter; however, they're simply forced t pay their way. Post Card of the tolled bridge. This bridge, being owned by a different company takes upon a much different tolling system than the Eaton Bridge. There were fewer grade problems first off. Second off, you are tolled before you crossed the bridge rather than at the same spot as everyone. This system will ensure that not a single car will follow through for free... Thats not the only road work going on however. The Exit 11 Interchange on the East/West connector was recently upgraded and smoothed for better accelleration/deaccelleration. There still exists rumors that Exit 6 will be upgraded into a full interchange. Noone knows for certain when however. Before the construction, The East/West connector too faced a very critical grade in which could disrupt the flow of traffic, especially for trucks... As it stands today, the grades are much more smooth and the on/off ramps also meet Interstate Grade Standards. A new trafficlight was also installed just north of the interchange to serve residential communities entering the highway. The East/West Connector has come a long way, first serving only the Newark and Western region and now the Eastern Region has opened up job opportunities to several citizens and has made commuting too and from downtown a much more feasable option for many residents of the island! Now for quite awhile, Soni has been kept pretty shut, I think it's time we have a look to see what he's up to... ______________________________________________________________________________ -It's Monday morning and Soni is heading Westbound on the East/West connector from Millidgeville- Soni: So the plan is simple... Get a job and keep a low profile... I've already got a list of addresses of company's I'm going to apply for. Cornell (Over the Phone): Agreed, but where are they? Soni: Downtown, I didn't bother taking Highway 4, Eaton is a mess during Rushhour, It didn't even take me a week of living here to find that out. Cornell (Over the Phone): Yes thats because most of Highway 4 is only one lane each way, Eaton holds a grand population in Newark but the mayor supposedly has no intentions of upgrading Highway 4...But Downtown?! Are you serious? Thats going to be quite a heavy commute! Why didn't you settle for a farm in Millidgeville?! Soni: Noone seems to be hiring that way. That industry is all tied up. They seem to be more agressive to outsiders especially... Cornell (Over the Phone): Yes... I should have remembered that. They had to move from Eaton because of outsiders moving into Newark, by nature they're not going to like you very much... Soni: Yeah I can feel the love... Downtown it is, and a low profile... --Soni began to cross over the Oconee River where the East/West connector dedicated itself to three lanes each direction... Soni remembered none of this at all. The first time he's ever crossed this bridge-- Cornell (Phone): Definately keep a low profile, I'm going to let you go, you know our conversations can only be short because we're constantly being watched. Newark residents arn't stupid at all. I know of a few who're capable of tapping into phones and they're just waiting on a reason to start a rebellion... Soni: Yes, I understand... --The conversation ends as Soni continues driving, and Soni hangs up his cell phone-- --Soni took notice of how busy the bridge was, it reminded him of being back in the U.S. ... It felt so strange to him how things could be so simular and yet so different, the fact that he's 5,000 miles from home, and on an Island where he's considered an enemy... -- Soni: Cornell should have taken me this way instead of Highway 4 when he took me home, much faster... --Soni's time on the freeway was destined to end at Exit 8, Highway 35 as he proceeded around the looparound ramp and made a right turn at the green light that awaited him...Downtown could be seen just beyond the overpass...-- Soni: Well... here I am at last, Downtown... The streets are a bit friendly.. ..lets see... first address... --Soni proceeded about making a left turn onto a oneway street.-- Soni: Ah yes, here we are... --And upon finding his destination, he quickly made a left turn onto a side street and pulled into their parking lot. -- --Soni exited his car dressed business proffessional...entering the biulding the receptionist on his right...-- Soni: Ah yes, I'm here to apply for the position you had listed in the Newark Paper... Receptionist: Ah... I'm sorry sir that position was JUST filled... Soni: Oh I understand... --Soni walked back to his car, not extremely discourage or disapointed but instead proceeded to his next destination. -- --And followed through with the same procedure...-- Soni: Yes I'm here for the interview, I'm alittle early if you don't mind can I wait in the lobby? Receptionist: Sure! --Soni does this for an hour before his interviewer arrived-- Lady: Good afternoon Soni, I'm glad you're on time, thats always a plus...would you mind coming back with me? Soni: Yes... certainly... --They head back into an private office, where Soni sits down comfortably for the first time ever since he left the aircraft.-- Lady: So Soni, What exactly are you looking for? We have several openings... Soni: Something longterm, definately. I want a desk job...Perhaps Data Entry? Lady: That shoud be accomplishable. ... Do you mind filling out an application? Soni: Not at all... --Soni proceeds about filling the job application out. It takes him 30 minutes, and when he's finished...-- Soni: Done... --Hands over the application-- Lady: That'll be fine. Just one moment, we'll have to run a background check and then we'll decide! --The Lady stepped away for about an Hour and 20 minutes and returned-- Lady: ..Nope... can't do it... Soni: ?! Huh can't do what? Lady: I was just told all of our positions are filled, sir I'm sorry for wasting all of your time but you'll need to look elsewere! Soni: But you said earlier... Lady: Sir .. we have nothing to offer you... please now, Diamante will escort you to the door... --A large man grabbed Soni by the Arms -- Man: Sir your time here has expired... --and proceeds to pull him to the door...-- Soni: What was THAT all about?!... --The man didn't even bother to answer, just turned around and went back toward the offices... Soni was forced with only one option... to leave..-- -- And thats exactly what Soni did, proceeding down another road looking for his next address...-- Soni: That was strange, at first it was so promising and suddenly it's as if she shut the doors in my face... -- Soni proceeded onto another side street, finding his address...-- -- and turns into the parking lot...-- --And after finding the same results, he was forced to turn right back out!-- --Soni then proceeded about crossing Highway 2-- --Now with the Eaton Bridge directly infront of him in his sights from a good distance, he proceeded to his final destination-- Soni: Well crap! This is it, if I don't get a job here and now then this entire day was a waste! ... Well here goes... --Soni entered the biulding, cashually as usual-- Soni: Yes I'm here to apply for the position you have listed... Receptionist: In the newspaper? Yes you'll just need to see Mr.Brown, one moment please! --It didn't take long before Mr.Brown entered the room-- Receptionist: This gentlemen is here for the interview! Mr.Brown: Of course... This way please Mr...??? Soni: Shuensha.. Soni Shuensha... Mr.Brown: Yes... Follow me! --They entered an office as Soni imagined, and infront of him was an Application already ready for Soni to fill out, and he did... and went through the interview process-- Mr.Brown: Great just one minute, we'll need to run your background and we'll give you our final answer... Soni: --Nodded-- Very well... --An hour passes...and Mr.Brown returned-- Mr.Brown: ...Get out of my office... Infact, I suggest you run... run as FAR as you can from this Island... you don't belong here... NONE of you belong here! Leave NOW before I get angry! You meddling punk, what kind of games did you think you were going to get away with?...American Soldier... Soni: !!! Weeell Mr.Brown it was great meeting you, nice knowing you, hopefully this'll be the last time in life we meet!!!Have a great day!.. --Soni rushes out the door, and into his car - cranking his motor immediately, throwing it into gear, and slamming on the gas before he can even get his seatbelt on!-- --Soni anxiously rushes to his phone while driving down the road, coming closer to the Bridge his mind is null of the fact that he cannot enter at this point.-- Soni: Cornell, I have a BIG problem! Cornell: What's going on? Soni: They're on to me.. Some how they figured out I'm an American Soldier! They won't even EMPLOY one! Cornell: Crap!! How?! We pretty much made you a new life here, even your background is different! Soni: I...don't know at all... How is this going to fair with the government?! Am I in immidiate danger?... Cornell: With the government, No... There's almost no government here anyway and what little there is, is practically begging America for help! However, with the citizens... thats a different story! You see Newark's biult upon several activists groups who seem to take the law of their own hand. Many groups are larger than the government and thus, dominate the industry here. They supply the money, U.S. supplies the workers, so long as they're not military... Consider them like a Mob... However you're a direct threat to them because you impose national security and order... That will rid them of their possession of this Island and their income and they're not going to let that go so easily... My suggestion to you is to hide in Millidgeville until we can find out exactly what went wrong! --Soni soon finds out The Entry Bridge wasn't quite at a point for entrance... and went around the culdesac...--- Soni: What EXACTLY does this mean? I have a Mob after me? Cornell: Quite possibaly, many businesses here are enticed between them because they supply money that isn't American and anything un-american unifies them towards becoming a nation of their own! If they do then we will be forced to leave Newark, unless we reside to war... but they can easily sell themselves to China and then we'll REALLY be up a creek... thats beyond your worries though as trust me, if that Mob finds you, you won't live long enough to see it... Soni: Not good! --Soni completes the loop and proceeds about making a right turn... and then a left at the next oneway street, to Highway 35...-- Cornell: Rememeber the rule Soni, we can't talk for very long, ESPECIALLY since they're now on to you! Crap you might have busted us all, they know there's one of us so they know there will be several more... ...Soni I believe now... if we're going to keep this Island, we're going to have to terminate them, before they terminate us... This isn't going to be easy... ...look I'll give you a call back tomorrow with more details, talking this long is dangerous... --click-- Soni: Crap... No job means no living, no living means starving in Newark... the country I was flown into and sworn to protect... I've got to think of something SOON! --Soni made a left onto Highway 35... He noticed the Sun was setting... he had been out all day... paving his way to the grave and he didn't even realize it... The sunset symbolized his fate... his time of shining upon earth was coming to an end... -- Soni: I'm not even armed for combat... No money for weapons, barely enough for gas... But... there's got to be a way out of this!... -- Soni instinctively took Highway 4, not even bothering with the East/West connector as his new predicament simply made him forget all about it, almost as if it were to never exist.-- Soni: Ugh... ... ... Long day, but soldiers don't sleep easy... although rest would definately help... ... --Soni completed his left turn upon the Green light and proceeded East upon the Eaton Bridge-- --The sunset behind him forcasted the shadows of the Downtown biuldings across the Oconee river... Soni proceeded eastward-- Soni: Huh... Whats this? This is new... this wasn't here the first time the Cornell took me this way, Wait... you've got to be kidding me! A TOLL?!?! --Indeed on the eastern portion of the Eaton Bridge, a Toll Booth happily awaited Soni Shuensha to PAY UP!-- Soni: When did THIS happen?! Attendent: A few weeks back the booth was completed Sir, That'll be Three Dollars please... Soni: You're kidding! No announcment? Nothing? There wasn't even a sign on the bridge warning it was tolled!! Ugh this day simply can't get any worse! Attendent: Well sir you should have read the newspaper, it made the front page! I cannot let you pass without--- --She was interrupted as the lights simply flickered out, and not just at the Toll Booth, but all over Eaton!!-- Attendent: Ugh another Brownout... --Indeed, Soni too was used to the frequent power outages in Millidgeville-- Soni: ...Take your three bucks... *Hands it over fustratedly*... I'm going broke by the minute... --The lights came back on, and the minute they did, something nearly blinded Soni and the Attendent, followed by a LOUD popping sound!!!--- --PzzzaaaAAAAAaaaappttt-- Soni / Attendent: What was that?! --When the Gate Opened, Soni eased out of the Toll Booth and he could tell the source of the light occured maybe not even a mile ahead of him! He could see an orangish glow gleaming into the fresh night sky... what could this be?! -- Soni: Possibaly, a fire?... --Soni proceeded down Highway 4, it narrowed after leaving Downtown Eaton's two intersections. The closer he got, the bright the glow of orange hue was, and he could swear he heard someone shout for help!-- --And it wasn't long before he realized what it was!... the shout was real alright, it sounded like a girl, perhaps a late teenaged girl screaming HELP!!!-- Girl: Heeelp! Someone out there! The door's are stuck, I can't get out!!! Soni: Holy Cosmos!!! LOOK at that!! You've... got to be kidding?! Where's the fire department when you need one!.. --Soni finally saw it, upfront, a Mansion simply being consumed into flames! Noone was around to stop, noone cared to stop... Soni quickly manuevered his car onto the sidewalk beside the Mansion, didn't waste any time to even turn it off, performed a leap over the fence and ran into the backyard of the house!-- --The Backdoor was barocaded with a burning fallen tree... Soni rushed around to the Front which the entire front Facia was simply gushing with flames.. and Soni could swear he saw the reminants of a fallen powerline transformer!-- Girl: HEEEELP!!! PLEASE SOMEBODY I CAN'T ESCAPE!!! IT'S GETTING HOT!!! Soni: I'm coming!!! As... ...as soon as I find a way!!... --Soni rushed around to each corner of the house looking for a feasable way in... until he finally appoached the dining room... a window... Soni grabbed a large rock with two hands, picked it up and ran for the window, tossing it smashing the glass... there was no Alarm to set off... There were no lights... Soni leaps into the house in which ever wall was consumed in flames!-- Soni: Where ARE you?! Girl: UPSTAIRS!!! HURRY!!! Soni: I'm coming!!... !!! --Soni approached the stairway which was simply burning into flames, it seemed to lead into the pits of hell itself... Soni had no choice... Praying that the stairs would be intact enough to handle his weight, he darted up the stairs... the flames raced across his skin, scoaring him... he wanted so badly to turn around and run back, his body instinctively programmed him to do it, but he ignored even those reflexes, he made it to the top and behind him, the entire stairwell collapsed!!! The walls arround him seemed to warp into textures not ment for mortal eyes to convieve, the Atic was caving in several areas... and then.. he saw a figure in the thick smoke... Soni nearly collapsed as his brain registered an almost complete lack of Oxygen. The girl was on the ground breathing as hard as she could as the air on the floor was slightly less contaminated than the air above them.. Soni came to his senses and ran for the girl! By the time he grabbed her, she was nearly unconscious, he lifted her into his arms and ran back out the room! Soni: Crap!!! No stairway! -- It didn't matter, the fire grew more impatient and hungry!! While carrying her, he saw another room, scorching in flames with pieces of the roof caving in, she was avoiding this room for this exact reason... then saw a window in this room! There was no tme to think, no time to look for another object... Soni dashed for the Window, girl in arms, pulling her to his left arm only while running toward the window as fast as he could, extending his ebow out and with a word of prayer... his force penetrated the window, the glass shattered... Soni leaping out of the top floor entirely... Then, the freefall began, with the girl in arms he performed an airrole coming out of the stance he used to break the glass. He aimed his back for the ground and kept the lady amongst his forward body, wrapping he tightly for the fierce landing he was prepared to experience... the smashed into the ground and bounced... and smashed again much like a Jet would experience upon landing... and then.. ..A loud crash executed the houses collapsation... ...Soni came to his senses, again... his back aching him ... -- Soni: That... ...was absurd... --Soni lied still for a moment... he didn't dare move... he didn't even get a decent look at the girl he saved... the clouds of smoke were to thick...-- Girl: Am.. ....am I dead? Soni: ...No...you made it out...alive... --She faintly rested her head against Soni in total disbelief-- Soni: What happened?...Why didn't you leave as soon as the fire happened?! Girl: ...I... it was the transformers... there was a brief power out and then when it came back on... everything surged... The transformers blew up and caused the powerlines to drop a whole pack of transformers infront of the door, and they were still live and they blew up too and caused the fire... The powerlines behind the house surged and a transformed blew up there too causing a tree to fall into the back door...All the electronic compenents in the house also blew up and the fire trapped me in the house! and I was screaming for help at a window and the roof began caving in so I had to move and I remember someone answering my calls and... it goes blank... Soni: That... would be me.. ...can you stand? Girl: Yes I think I can... --The girl manuevers off of Soni... standing-- Girl: ... I guess that makes you a Hero... Whats your name? Soni: Erm I'd rather not say right now I'm unsure of that... Girl: --giggles-- you're funny... How can you be unsure of your name?.. Voice: Meradith?! Meradith?! Sweetie is that you?! Oh thank GOD you're okay!!! I was coming home and I saw the fire!! Oh god I saw the entire house collapse!! I thought you were... Soni: She'll be fine... --Soni rolls over and pushes himself off the ground, his back growing and crying in pain but Soni tries his best to hide it-- Soni: Ugh.. Man: Who...who's this? Meradith: Daddy thats the man who saved my life! Soni: Just call me Shuensha ((to himself: Or dead man, whichever occurs first)) Man: What happene anyway!? Meradith were you cooking?! Soni: It was a power failure, the transformers blew up for some reason when the power came back on, maybe it was a surge... Man: Good god, Newark needs a new powerplant.. ...Sorry to keep you waiting... Shuensha... I am Chris Vanderse, the Vice President of the Newark Harbor Seaport... ...Look... if there's anything I can do for you, I'd be more than happy! Meradith: Daddy can I spend time with him?! Soni: Erh... ...Wait actually there is.. ...I need a job... Can you get me one? Chris: Consider yourself employed... You won't need an application, I'll fill out everything you need... You choose your shift and schedule..You just tell me when you're ready to work! Soni: Tomorrow!... 7 A.M. at the Seaport? Chris: Done! Just ask for me and meet me in my office... Meradith, come on lets get in the car, we're going to stay over Grannies in South Island for the night until we can get this house worked out... Soni: --For the first time through this day, Soni's face was filled with a smirk-- Very well Mr.Vanderse I will meet you promptly at 7 A.M. Chris: Oh heavens! Do you need Medical treatment? I forgot! Soni: I should be okay, trust me I'll settle for some ice! Chris: You sure? I can easily get the charges covered! Soni: No don't worry about it I'll be fine... --Soni turns and walks toward his car-- Meradith: Shuensha!! Wait! --Soni turns around and Meradith, for the first time he gets a good look at her, a girl about 18 years old, 5'6" Brown eyes, long Brown Hair and had the facial expression of a playfull puppy, comes running into Soni squeezing him

politicman - Thank you! You've been added to the score and will begin with 30 Points! lilmanjs - You should easily have enough. I'll need you to be just alittle more specefic however. Do you want those to be Streets, or actual roads? Also from Parcel 3, D6 I'll need you to provide me a photo on where you would like to connect the road. Do you want any residents on the OUTSIDE of that street that circles the residential area? Also what would you like to name this development?
  3. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

CTF - Yes there is a benefit to owning waste services. I'm alittle on the short side for time this morning so I will get back to you with the point costs this afternoon, I have to configure them. 2nerdy4u - Yes, I'll try and get that up this afternoon. It'll show everything on that side of the river + LinaPark as it stands. iamihop11 - Anything that exceeds 10 Tiles of residential zone earns the Residential Grant whether it is enticed with commerce or not. Keep me posted! Amerikaner - Anywere you choose. If I were you I would look for a highly traveled highway that way that will attract customers, more customers = more points.
  4. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

lilmanjs - Use the image below for reference, it is an overview of the area you requested and will give you the costs per tile for everything you should need, unless you want parks that is... If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
  5. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

2nerdy4u - Thank you! lilmanjs - You begin with 30 Points, you actually have 33 Points now. There is a 20 Point Grant for residential property. So if you want a residential nieghborhood, you will have 53 Points to pool with. For every tile you desire to develop, it will cost an X amount of points (use the picture above to see how many points it will cost.) So try to develop within your point / cost range. Feel free to ask me questions if you're confused.
  6. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

jacqulina - Thank you! Voulpiotis - Thank you! The grid was intentionally left on for this update as it was to fullfill those who had requests with a bit more reference to the land. You've been added to the score system and will start with 30 Points. Benedict - lol you're welcome! CTF - Awsome, we'll wait a week and then I'll show you my plan for the powerplants! iamihop11 - Take your time, no hurry, and I'll need it. ObladiOblada - Thank you!

I'd like to congratulate Benedict as he is now an owner of a portion of the South Shore Rail Line... Here is your deed, keep record of it! _____________________________________________________________ First thing, iamihop11 had several requests and I'd like to kick those off first... ... and REMEMBER, Residential Developments earn a 20 Point Grant! Grid 1 - F2 - Description! F2 Without Description! Without the description so you can easily tell where the grid lines are for your planning and interface. Just tell me where you want to live or if you want to biuld your own house, mark the area and send it back, and we'll go from there. Grid A1/A2 Overview! this is the overview from Grid A1 and A2 just North east of downtown, I'm going to post closer zoomed in views this way you can be more precise with planning... Grid 1 A1 Grid 2 A2 - Now lets move further west into A4 and B4 both off of Hwy 35. Grid 1 A4/B4 Overview! Grid 1 A4 Grid 1 B4 Take a carefull look at these photo's and draw the area you want developed and give me a description of what you desire and we'll go from there! ___________________________________________________________________________ MPTC's request is next! Parcel 3 C6/D6 This area is located with great convinience off the East/West connector and its At-Grade intersection with Highway 2. There can be no roads or streets intersecting the E/W connector without an interchange with the exception of Highway 2 as displayed. The South Shore Rail Line and Highway 2 also proceed through this portiong, making this land highly profitable Industrial land. The beach at the same time with easy access to the highway entices several to desire resorts along the coastline. Parcel 3, C6 Parcel 3, D6 ______________________________________________ and finally, lilmanjs's request remains last but not least. Parcel 3 Grid 1 E3/F3 Grid 1 E3 Grid 1 F3 There's no roads out this way so you will be responsible for supplying any development with access to the networked roads in the area. Simply copy and paste this image into your paint (or save as) and draw a detailed map on what you desire your development to look like and represent it on those tiles. You can also draw it with paint but make sure you represent the tiles. Powerlines by the way cannot be zoned over unless consulted by the powercompany for a powerline relocation. Enjoy! ___________________________________________________ Thats it for now fellow Simtropolitans, I promise updates will be more exciting than this was down the road but right now it's just one day at a time...

CTF - I can give you a list however the Island is going through major changes as far as the power grid is concerned as I'm going to change the power plant style so there's going to be alot less of them soon. It would be unfair for me to give you a powerplant list and then have to tear several plants down, is it okay if I wait about a week before I submit you a list of powerplants? Thank you for the compliments, I put alot of time and thought into it... It is based on the suburban sprawl theory that many of the South Eastern cities are facing (Atlanta, Charlotte, Greenville, Jacksonville, Miami, ect...) iamihop11 - Okay, Pictures from the first grid will be displayed by this evening! Yes people can donate points to the non profit, it doesn't have to be just you. Later on in the CJ when the timeline gets moving, I will show you how the city is standing financially and that will also play a role in our choices but right now, we're nowere near danger so all ideas are welcome. MPTC - Very well, Parcel 3 - Grid 1, C6&D6 will be displayed by this evening! Yoshiisland - Cool, keep me posted, I'll give you about a week to start and if you can't then I'll just download one from the exchange, as no hard feelings or anything but the city has to keep power. lilmanjs - Yes that is very possible, Im going to zoom in for some pictures and then I'll need you to draw me a general layout in which you want me to follow for the residential area and post it. From there we will continue development! _____________________________________________________ Sorry for the delay in updates but I've been extremely busy lately with studying and work. That is Peachtree Industrial Blvd, GA 141, (NOT I-285, The road shown is NOT an Interstate!) which prior to that traffic light if a freeway for about 5 miles and has about 4 Exits and it also has Oneway Collector/Distributor roads that run parralell with it for it's entire freeway length. That traffic light displayed is the I-285 Westbound Onramp for GA 141 Northbound (opposing traffic, and they don't have to stop either as it becomes a freeway just after passing I-285) whereas the Eastbound Onramp is just pass the Overpass that carries I-285. How did you happen to come across that photo? They SERIOUSLY need to complete that interchange, it's only half done - some traffic has to stop, and others can keep moving at all times. Other than that, 141 is by far one of Atlanta's coolest freeways as I've never experienced a traffic jam on it, until the freeway portion of it ends. I personally think they should have made the freeway portion carry you as far out as the Mall of Georgia, THAT would have been a GREAT alternative to Atlanta's 16 Lane Massacre, I-85 of Gwinnett County...

I have a request... Is there ANY possible way we can see this kind of Highway Exit / Onramp for the GROUND Highway? The Parrallel ramp really doesn't cut it, it's too restrictive and simply looks unrealistic when trying to make Highway Ramps into Oneway roads for more realistic interchanges. Also the oneway roads WILL be used as I have a RHW system that features one way roads being used for the exit / on ramps and even have some ramps that loop to merge onto the highway. Sims have absolutely no problems with it either... If not, just what will it take to get this ramp in the game? I'm super serious about it.

iamihop11 - Okay, a Non-Profit Org will be no problemo. Basically as the CJ goes along, you look around places that you see that could benefit from recreation or a park and tell me, and we'll go from there... If the city desires to biuld a park then that too can be arranged under your points. You can also choose from the grid for a Park, there is no limit to the size of the park, it can be as large as you can afford. Now as for your requests.. 1. A1 and A2 from which Grid? Grid 1 or 2? 2. B4-A4...Again I'll need to know which Grid. 3. Okay, keep me posted! 2nerdy4u - Basically it means that you have to provide your OWN bat and not one from the exchange. one that you created. MPTC - Parcel 3 has just been recently posted, scroll up into my just previous MiniUpdate and tell me which Grid and Crosshair you want to look at (Exampe Grid2 D3) They're clickable but for the heck of it I'll paste you a shortcut to the fullsized map... https://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/Need4Camaro/MiniUpdate2/Parcel3Grid1.jpg and... https://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa303/Need4Camaro/MiniUpdate2/Parcel3Grid2.jpg Benedict - The map will update that portion of The South Shore Line with Purple. I'll have photo's coming up on the next update. jacqulina - Thank you! CTF - Yes you may join at any point period or time. By posting you'll automatically be added to the score system and you'll begin with 30 points. With that, each time you post you'll gain 1 point. and whatever you purchase will cost points... ...It is very possible to start a power company infact I'm requesting anyone with batting experience to make me a power plant and a power company. If you do, it will instantly be in your name. If you find you're unable to do that however, then you can buy a powerplant however you'll be in competition with another power company...
  12. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Benedict - Insurance costs 1 point for every 5 Points you earn off of any object, basically. Insurance for the South Shore line will cost 12.76 Points dropping your income 1/5th ... meaning your new income would be 51.04 Points per real month. Are you certain you want insurance? It would benefit mostly on the bridge as thats the most fragile part of the rail network however should a few tiles of railroad somehow become destroyed, you will be reimburst those tiles of railroad multiplies times 3 and the income those tiles produce... Your request will be updated, is there any particular color you want your line to show on the map? Any names you want to rename it? 2nerdy4u - Thank you!... The traffic count remained the same on the bridge. No decrease at all so I suppose they don't mind the toll too much. But then again what choice do they have? ___________________________________________ ANNOUNCEMENT! - Newark Island is facing a power-crisis and NEEDS YOUR HELP! Currently the island is running primarily on coal plants due to the abundance of coal found in the Wachita Mountain Range! However the growth of Industry and Residents in the region has piled the demands upon the coal plants. We're asking for a more efficient, preferably coal, powerplant that can power a population of atleast 250,000 Residents! If you have a Bat or have Bating experience and would like to provide a Power Plant to Newark, I will offer the following! - 200 Free Points! - Power Plant IN YOUR NAME! - 50 Extra Free Points if Coal Based - City Grant - Monthly Income based on the Power Plant - Your choice in where to biuld - No Biuld Costs! - City will pay for it! - Ability to run your own electrical power lines! - If you're creative enough to Bat a Powercompany, it will be placed in Downtown at a place of your choosing! ---------- I don't quite know how or why but for some unexplained reason, only half of my post posted ------- Parcel 3 Grid 1 Parcel 3 Grid 2 Pick out a Parcel and grid, then tell me which parcel. grid, and XY location you're interested in! ________________________________________________________________ Alright and for our final request, IamIhop11 desired to see Parcel 17, the sector just North East of the E/W connector. Thats coming right up! Grid 1 Grid 2 You know the drill, pick out a grid and coordinate and tell me what you're interested in. Also if you're interested in an area, you can purchase it and convert it as long as it's not against zoning. Now... lets move onto our MiniUpdate! _____________________________________________________________ Good Morning Citizens of Newark! So far, traffic is light and our traffic jam report is mostly good news for our hard core commuters! Highway 35 North experiences a slight delay at the Interchange with The East/West Connector, traffic moving into Downtown without delays however! Hwy 2 and The East/West Connector at Exit 9 is moving smoothly into and out of Downtown. There are no reported Delays leaving or going into Eaton! Minor delays from Millidgeville along Highway 2, Highway 202 and Highway 6, the downtown bypass, however is bumper to bumper all the way to the Highway 35 Intersection. Use the East/West Connector for an alternative. ____________________________________________________ Now onto our regional costruction plan! We have a few grand openings here so lets have a look shall we? Eaton Bridge has just been opened for Tollings, commuters who do not wish to pay may use the East/West connector for an alternative. Additional roadwork is being performed to grade the incline into the bridge into more proffesional standards so Delays may incur. -YoshiiIsland The tolling project on the new Union 93 Propaganda bridge has also been completed. Commuters moving into and out the only bridge to South Island will now have to pay a toll. The mayer however states that this bring income that was used to maintain the bridge into more political matters! Southbound Toll Booth, - To South Island. Northbound Toll Booth - To Downtown. -2nerdy4u _______________________________________________________ And finally, Lina Park seems to be off to an excellent start showing early signs of development aswell as the completion of the subdivision road. Homes are developing aswell as the competion of the subdivision road and the addition of a park. Traffic light constructed upon the Intersection of the new and renamed, Lina Park Way and Highway 2. Benedict - Okay, for the portions of the S.S. line you wanted to purchase, it would cost FAR too much... ...over 100 Points... ... So I priced you out a portion within your budget. Greenbean418 - Yes you do get profit from Hotels per the tile and residents. There's no MAJOR height restrictions so long as it's not so large that it looks out of proportions within the region view. lilmanjs - Coming right up. Alright lets satisfy some requests!!! ___________________________________________________ Benedict wanted some information regarding the railroad so I'm going to satisfy that for him first! I have priced the portion of 7B to 2K (the beggining of the Harbor connector) which will buy you a good portion of the South Shore Line. This line has two freight stations and I have included a price for them seperately. I have also priced the Harbor Connector portion out for you aswell. First lets have a look at the rail line and rail stations. We're over looking the two stations, and the begginng portion of 7B to the Eastern portion of the tracks at the top right corner of this photo. The rail station to the Farthest East services 38 freight trains and is Freight Station 1, and Freight Station 2 to the West of this station services No Trains and is Freight Station 2, Basically you only get paid for station 2 because it exists... It's really just an old station left over from the farming industry that prospered here. To give you an idea, if you want to biuld stations, plan to biuld them near Industrial areas, this way you'll make a profit! That or start your own industrial area and then plop a freight station. Rail Traffic upon Freight Station 1. A better view of Freight Station 1. It is now surrounded by High Tech Industries who benefit from the convinience, and residential suburban homes of Eaton. Below is a chart I prepared for you to give you a cost of the lines I just mentioned. Tell me which one you're interested and we'll go from there. South Shore Harbor Connector 16 10.4 12.2 2.4 27.4 6.4 11.2 6.4 5.8 4.8 1.6 Monthly Expenses 55.6 49 CJ Monthly Income 39.8 19.2 Minimum Monthly Income 119.4 57.6 Points Per Real Month 63.8 8.6 _____________________ ___________________________ Freight Stations Expenses Station 1 Monthly Expenses 27 Station 2 Monthly Expenses 8 BOTH - Monthly Expenses 35 Freight Stations Income Station 1 CJ Monthly Income 10.2 Station 2 CJ Monthly Income 6.4 Station 1 Minimum Monthly Income 30.6 Station 1 Points Per Real Month 3.6 Station 2 Minimum Monthly Income 19.2 Station 2 Points Per Real Month 11.2 COMBINED Real Monthly Income 14.8 Although the Harbor Connector has less rail tiles, it has so many more trains using the rails to the seaport that it BARELY overcomes the expense difference of the tracks. If I were you I would recommend purchasing the South Shore line first as you're allowed to go up to negative 20 points, you just can't purchase while you're in the negative integers. Then when your points are updated, you will beable to purchase the stations, and perhaps more of the rail line.... ______________________ Greenbean418 wants a grid format of the island he is interested in purchasing and that will be presented to him below... Each yellow square represents 4 tiles. _________________________________________________ lilmanjs - Now it's your turn for the Parcel Information you requested! These are large images so it would be actually better for me to make them thumbnails and provide links to the actual size... Parcel 8 Grid 1 Parcel 8 Grid 2 Parcel 8 Grid 3 Parcel 8 Grid 4

Greenbean418 - Yes, that will be posted upon the next update! Benedict - Yes, you will be penalized as the rail line gets busier because more trains means more rail wear and maintanence and since you do not own a rail station in this scenerio (freight or passenger) you also do not own the trains. However terms will change entirely should you purchase a rail or freight station as you will be credited points per passenger or freight using that station or stations. Basically - You do NOT get points for passengers or freight by owning just a railline because the passenger and freight trains are owned seperately from the rail. It's like trying to be payed for the cars that travel on your road, it just doesn't happen unless you setup a Toll or a Tax. You DO get points if you own a rail station for that rail line per passenger or freight delivered THROUGH THAT STATION. Basically if you want to get paid for the traffic along the line, you'll have to purchase a rail station of some kind. iamihop11 - With the amount of smog in my hometown and the lack of suburaban parks, I'd agree totally. Yoshiisland - Awsome. That will be posted in the next update. lilmanjs - It honestly really depends on how you want to start. By posting, you're automatically added to the score system and will start with 30 Points. I have a points system located here. Several members are taking several approaches. iamihop decided he wanted to start with a residential development. 2nerdy4u and Yoshiisland both purchased bridges. Benedict is seeking to purchase a railroad and Greenbean418 is going for his own private island! I suggest going with a development as they are currently the cheapest and most profitable due to high demands and city grants. Take a look at the region grid on I believe the first page and tell me what Parcel you want to look at and we'll go from there. If you want to look at a road, that can also be accomplished. There's several opportunities here so don't become too concentrated. __________________________________ *Announcement!* I have college exams approaching throughout the beggining through the middle of September and many require my utmost attention in studying. I don't want to do it as much as you don't want to hear it but I have to. This means that I'm afraid my Updates will slow down until around Mid-September. They WILL NOT completely stop, just be slower. I will do more question answering however and I will be diverting my main focus in this CJ into the Interactivity scene only. Meaning Update 7 and forward will be postponed until Mid-September most likely. However, your requests and development projects will still be started, completed, and posted as planned! This is a large project and since it's still maturing it requires alot of attention and currently I have to divert some attention to preparing for my exams however, I'm still willing to start and complete projects with members who desire to participate in Blue Hope... That is all!

iamihop11 - I couldn't tell if you were acting or if you were serious, do you wish to start an environmentalist program directed towards the construction of parks and planting of tree's throughout Newark? Parcel 17 Photo's, N/E of the E/W connector will be displayed in the next update! 2nerdy4u - Your toll request will be fulfilled, we'll see progress in the next update! MPTC - Thank you! You'll be added to the score system. Benedict - I'll have photo's of your request in the next update!... Basically the system works like this... For every CITY month for owning a rail system, you will be awarded 0.2 Points per Rail Tile you own. A MINIMUM of 3 CITY months have to pass before I will deduct points from every REAL month When you purchase a Rail line it will cost 0.2 Points per Rail Tile + 0.2 Points per Freight Train and 0.2 Points per 50 passengers... This will be deducted every REAL month AS LONG AS a minimum of 3 CITY months have passed in that month... Get it now? ObladiOblada - Thank you! Greenbean418 - Okay, Do me a favor, copy that photo of the island and outline the area you want to recouncil from the Sea... It will cost 0.3 Points per tile. If you desire this island badly though I will allow you to go into the negative integers at the cost of completing the entire island.

Benedict - Alright, now your information is coming up regarding the railroad. Yoshiisland - The same region, Newark Island Region, the previous photo's were just from further up north into the Wachita Mountain Range. Also, I need to know what style toll you desire from the list above for the Eaton Bridge, Thanks! 2nerdy4u - You're entitled to it! Pictures of your new toll road are coming up aswell. ____________________________________ Mini Update! First lets have a look at whats changing in the Newark area... As we can see, Two bridges have been purchased and are in process of becoming tolled. Aswell as a new development to the North East just off of Highway 2, Lina Park by imaihop11. Our population has grown nearly 10,000 over the course of time from 127,000 residents to 146,000 residents and we're not expecting any growth delays any time soon. So with that said, lets get down to business. ______________________________________________________________ I've recieved quite a few requests and so to fullfill them I decided to put them upon an update of their own! First being Greenbean418's information request. Parcel 11, Grid C This Island can be best used for a resort hotel center. The addition of beachfront property adds an additional 0.2 points per tile. Cost per tiles - 0.4 Light Density. 0.5 Medium Density. 0.7 Dense Density. If you desire to use a BAT, I will deduct 0.1 point per tile. To access mainland, you're going to have to perform it by Ferry or Bridge. You'll be responsible for both stations, Mainland and The Island. Also with the lack of a bus system, a passenger ferry wouldn't be recommended unless it served access directly into Downtown. Bridge Cost's Street bridges cost 0.2 points per tile. Road bridges cost 0.3 points per tile. Avenue bridges cost 0.5 points per tile. Ferry Cost's 2 Points per tile + 2 Points per 50 Passengers every real month. Once again you can use a Bat for the ferry so long as it's functional. I will deduct 1 Point per tile for Bats. Remember, you're going to need two stations. Roads Streets = 0.1 Points per tile Roads = 0.2 Points per tile Avenues = 0.5 Points per tile. Should you be interested, give me a grid crosshair and we'll get you some close ups. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now for Benedicts request upon purchasing the Railroad. But before we get too deep into it, lets have a look at what the railroad is encompassed of... Our updated transportation map shows us the railroad (thick black lines) aswell as the local highways. Black = Railroad Green = Avenue Blue = Freeway (East/West connector) Red = Road White = Streets Lets have another look, this time a map more specific on the rail lines. As we can tell there are 5 Major Rail Lines The South Shore Line - Being the longest line, running parralell with the East/West Connector, Hwy 2 in portions and Hwy 4 through Eaton and Millidgeville. This line delivers mostly farming goods to businesses and supermarkets aswell as the seaport to be shipped out. There is a marginal supply of freight as there are several industries based off this rail line. The Plains Extension Rail Line - Mainly west of the Metro area, provides access for the western farms that dwell in the middle of mainland access to rails to deliver to the seaport. Wachita Central Rail Line - North and South Rail line used to deliver coal from the Wachita mountain ranges into Industrial Complexes below it, and also serves as a direct connection to the seaport to allow for shipping. Atlantic Connector - An extension of the South Shore line that proceeds South East into the coast for easy access to rails by farms on the coast. Oconee Express - Runs paralell with Highway 2 Northeast / Southwest to provide rail access to farms and industries along the Oconee river, terminating at the South Shore line just south of the East/West connector, also serving as a Seaport connection. With that said, lets now have a look at the Rail grid, you will from this grid, pick a number or numbers, and I will give you shots of that area and from there we can proceed about purchasing. You CAN look at more than one number at a time and you CAN purchase more than one segment at a time. _______________________________________________ Alright, Now that that's done... lets check out that toll progress... Union 93 Propaganda Bridge - Highway 35 - The FIRST Toll Road. The South Island Bridge was recently purchased and renamed into the Union 93 Propaganda Bridge by 2nerdy4u. The photo above show's the construction of the Southbound Toll Plaza. Cars will be forced to use one section of the highway during construction. The construction project will consist of... - Redirecting Traffic into Oncoming lanes where the pavement will be restriped - Complete! - Leveling the Terrain for Construction of Tolling Facility - In Progress! - Construction of Toll Facility - In Queue! - Depending on conditions - Constructing an overpass over the first traffic lamp, and PERHAPS even an interchange over the Highway 4 Intersection - Surveying! Many residents in South Island and commuters from Newark alike are very disapointed that a road they used for free will now be tolled. Thousands of residents of the South Island area depend on this bridge on a daily basis to travel between work and home. There are no plans to construct a ferry system or an alternative bridge so residents and workers of South Island, will be forced to pay a toll on a daily basis. More photo's of construction - Northern Portion of Highway 35, Downtown Newark, The Southbound portion of Highway 35 was destroyed and repositioned into the Northbound lanes for a temporairy bottleneck. The lanes will reopen upon completetion of the toll plaza. Southern portion of Highway 35, South Island, The Northbound lanes are repositioned into the Southbound lanes and striped accordingling as another temporary bottle neck is formed. This section will open to full access again upon completion of the Toll Booth. 2nerdy4u - Is there any particular toll Bat you desire to use? or should I pick one? Electronic or Standard? __________________________________ Thats all for now Simtropolitans! Take care!

Greenbean418 - That will be presented on the next Mini Update... I decided to make a mini update since I have alot of requests. Probably tonight or tomorrow morning it will be posted... Benedict - Very well. I'll have a map with querries of the rail system and several route options available for you to choose between. The rail's, and road system will be purchased in sections and each section will represent a certain amount of tiles. This way it will be easy to view. So when you're ready to purchase, lets say section 1 = 20 tiles and section 2 = 30 tiles... thats 50 tiles of railroad in which you will tell me you want to purchase section 1 and section 2... Sound like a plan?
  19. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

ObladiOblada - Very well, I'll be waiting. Benedict - Thanks. Basically for the railroad, they cost 0.2 Points per tile + 0.2 Points per Freight Train and 0.2 Points per 50 Passengers per REAL month. You earn 0.2 Points per tile per CJ month. Basically if you want to invest in a railroad, you won't make much profit unless you purchase a real long stretch to overcome the Freight Train and Passenger Train deductions. If you desire, I will post a map of the rail lines on the next update in which you will beable to look and decide on which line or which portion of a line you're interested in. I will tell you how many tiles it encompasses and we'll go from there. Greenbean418 - Well... Yes and No... As the Newark Island is a major seaport area, it could be dangerous for ships to travel around large land masses that were to suddenly appear from the sea. However, lets say you have a Commercial Office or a Hotel in mind that you wanted to biuld on it's own Island or Peninsula... you can raise land just for that hotel or development after purchasing the land rights for the development. It will cost an extra 0.3 points for development over water however.

Simtropolis View! Update 6 _____________________________ Newark's economy is propelled by a mighty industrial work force and mining opperations to bring forth natural resources to ship out at the Seaport. Today we're going to have a look at the dirtiest, yet probably the most important side of this city! Just a few miles North of Downtown, where we find the cross section of the Railroad, Highway 202 the local bypass, and Highway 35, we come across a large pollution dirty industrial manufacturing center. This center takes resources found from the mountains north of here and mills them into usable goods, both to be shipped and to be used on this island. The Railroad here serves a major freight station to make transportation to the seaport, possible and economical without jamming the city streets with huge tractor trailors. Also, raw fuel is unloaded and produced here to be sent to the coal power plants North East of here. Highway 35 swiftly passes through the center of this Industrial Exchange on it's journey to the mountains. It crosses the combined Highway 202 / 6 marking 202's halfway mark where 202 proceeds back to Highway 2 in the rural area completing its downtown bypass. A closer look at the Indstries adjacent to the railroad for easy shipping access. This was also once rural lands flush with trees, however Industries used this waypoint area to quickly and conviniently produce and ship goods. A local farmers market is also set up here. Highway 35's intersection with the center of this industrial metroplex was recently upgraded into a traffic light controlled intersection due to heavily increased traffic on the Highway 35 corridoor. After crossing the railroad that services the industrial area, it's time for alittle mountain climbing. Highway 35 USED to proceed up the two lane road that proceeds North West, winding through the houses in process. However this became too dangerous as traffic conditions broadened due to Industrial Boom in the mountains. Highway 35 was destined to be upgraded. DOT gave way to researching the Interstate system and biult a new stretch of High Speed road which would be divided enough to avoid head on collisions, proceeding North East and then North into the Mountains where it will soon remeet it's old alaignment. The Speed limit is 65 MPH; however, there are NO interchanges throughout this portion or commercial services so travelers are adviced to fuel up before entering this section. Upon arriving upon a temporairy flat land mass midway at the top of the Mountains, Highway 35 is reduced into an Avenue where we see more residential development, and the old alaignment of Highway 35 remeets and joins into the Super Highway. We also see where the region's trash is dumped and recycled. Newark has learned to be a very ecinomical island as due to economic crisis throughout the world, procudcing goods isn't so cheap or feasable. Hwy 35 Proceeds North... Soon we enter another large neighborhood area where residents suffer the heavy winds of high altitude living to be close to their work. Highway 35 Proceeds as access to both Downtown (South) and the Industrial Chambers that lie ahead (North). The railroad from our first industrial stations reenter, stage right... Highway 35 proceeds as a 55 MPH highway cutting grades into the steep hills. This portion was also recently upgraded from a two lane road. The median here is rather shallow however due to the fact that they were forced to squeeze the highway into preexisting grades so drivers are still advised to be cautious. The western half of the same residential development, on the western side of Highway 35. It curves gracefully up the hills forming californian style cliffs. Residents at the top enjoy a scenic view of downtown Newark and all the lights below them at night. The local road to the north winds through a tunnel and proceeds North East to meet Highway 35 at even higher altitude. Highwya 35's first intersection for the Industrial Complexes in the Mountains is traffic lamp controlled. This road used to be Highway 35's old alignment however again Highway 35 was relocated and upgraded to serve Industries even further north of here... A commercial zoning here is provided in hope that a Fuel Station would take its place for travelers. The road from the residential area that tunneled through hills, meets Highway 35 with a small shopping convinience area before proceeding into the Industrial Areas east of here. Also traffic light controlled, it proceeds North. Highway 35, due to the grade not being so restrictive in this area is now upgraded with a larger median. The final intersection for Highway 35 and the Industrial complexes that lie South East. This road is the return road from the old road that was once Highway 35. A commercial strip will hopefully be produced here to aid drivers in their journey to the summit of the mountains, where the coal mining occurs. Overview of the old alaignment of Highway 35 where it proceeds up a grade where it is surrounded by industries. Heavy polluting Industries lie upon the railroad tracks to the east. The rail provides access to the Seaport for easy shipping. The road running parralell to it runs southward back to Highway 2, near the Millidgeville border. A Coal Power Plant provides the city below it cheap, feasble power at the cost of filling the air with soot. Powerlines make their way Southward into the city and Northward into the Coaling areas. South east of here, the road proceeds down a grade in which the railroad tracks follow on the upper portion of the grade. Powerlines feed into another nearby coal plant and the industries surrounding it. Northwest, the Road crosses over the railroad tracks and proceeds its journey to Highway 35 and provides more access to the industries surrounding it. As we can see, this area is still developing and populating itself with factories and mills. Steel is happily produced here aswell as refined coal for power plant burning. But several don't realize, that even Diamonds are produced here. The OLD portion of Highway 35 levels from it's grade, finally meeting the industries surrounding it. Overview of this gigantic industrial complex! Highway 35 lowers it's speedlimit to 45 MPH, proceeding through another grade finally approaches the summit where the coal mining occurs. Up here the terrain is much more rigid and difficult to biuld on. Values in this portion are much higher as MUCH fewer industries are capable of biulding a foundation to support a steady, safe, and level biulding in this area... The railroad tracks are forced into tunneling its way into the Coaling areas. Overview from just south of the Summit. The electrical powerlines manuever around a small mountain ending their path into a powerplant just behind it. Most of the coal plants live in the shadow of Mount Kendra. During work hours, extra light is necessary. The coal plants sit upon the base of the summit, this is where coal is abstracted.... Highway 35 proceeds around a few bends, crossing railroad tracks for coal shipping, and prepares to end it's journey at the base of the summit for Mount Kendra at a Culdasec for easy truck U-Turns.. Highway 35 arrives at abstraction facillities while he railroad reammerges from the tunnles in the debths of the mountains. It is here where freight is sent to a freight station north east of the Abstraction Facilities, and then south into the city of Newark for manufacturing, and shipping. The busy Coal Refining plant is surronded by a powerplant, and several Industries who benefit from both the presence of natural resources, and workers. Also, many factories are biult INTO their own foundations making them levels deeper than they appear. Foundations in this area are VERY pricey. Most of these Industries are American owned! A look at the Extraction Facilities on the rare occurance that the sun comes from hiding behind the mountains. A train is on it's way to a freight station with raw resources. Another look around, The Mining / Refining Plant in which cleans our coal into pure coal and mines coal from directly under the plant. An overview of the final Industrial Complex / Coal mining Center where Highway 35 meets its end and resources / electricity are shipped south into Newark below. A view of the Towering Peak of Mount Kendra overshadowing the Industrial Complex biult upon it. Even at these altitudes, since Newark is close to the tropic's it rarely snows making traveling year round less difficult. Tornado's are never found up this way as the rigid terrains puts an instant stop to the growing winds. However, Mount Kendra is rumored to be Volcanic... Booom!!! Explosion... The freight delivery that never made it... Welp, simtropilitans that's all until Update 7!! I hope you've enjoyed this as much as I did... Take care and enjoy!

2nerdy4u - It's yours mate! Just be aware and know that even on the interaction level, your choice will advertly affect the course of this CJ and even Soni's story... By the way, when you get more points, I would recommend purchasing insurance for an extra 10 points per month. This will ensure a full refund of your monthly expenses times three should the bridge be sabataged or destroyed. I will post your deed in this update. You will then need to choose your tolling options and how you want it tolled, and it will be included in the following update Yoshiisland - Don't worry, the primary focus on the CJ is to ensure that there are PLENTY of opportunities for EVERYONE!... The Eaton Bridge is yours and will be tolled, I will post your deed in this update. You will then need to choose your tolling options and how you want it tolled, and it will be included in the following update iamihop11 - Great to hear school is working out for ya! I actually just purchased my PC to prepare to attend college in my area. Devry University in which I will be majoring in Computer Networking and Systems. - Signature looks nice! Thanks for the advertisement! I will also be posting your deed in this upcoming update. ALSO - For Lina Park I WASN'T able to map out the tiles as accurately as your photo as the actual tiles were quite different but I did make it best suite and completed it anyway and deducted the correct amount of points... ObladiOblada - Awsome and Thank you! I will get a price for you on the roswell condomeniums, however after doing the math on iamihop11's development, I'd highly recomend you start a residential development since demand is still high and grants are available because the income for massive property is outrageous! Okay lets get on with the show! __________________________________________ First thing's first! Newark has been going through some changes lately as we can all tell so lets have a look at the Newspaper! Local Island News Indeed, Lina Park makes Headlines, so lets go have a look at that first! As we can see, The area has been rezoned and currently an residential street is underway of construction. The power company agreed to relocate a set of High Tension Powerlines for the development and for safety concerns. We're still awaiting bus service, The park is underway of planning and then construction. It will probably be ready upon the full development of Lina Park. *IMPORTANT!!!: For future developments, unless constituted or approved by the Power Companies of Newark, High Tension Powerlines CANNOT be developed on from this point forth!* - This is to maintain realism as yes I am fully aware that zone's carry power, however in real life, it would be impossible to carry Gigawatts worth of electricity through homes from substation to substation without frying the home and its occupants... Thus when planning an area, ask if the powerlines can be relocated, or simply develope around them. Congratulations iamihop11 for your first development in the Newark Island Region... I now present before you, your deed to this land.. Keep a copy of it for future references as this is how you will keep track of your property... Now for the Bridges... 2Nerdy4u and Yoshiisland - I'll need you to choose a setup for the tolls from the examples below... Red Rectangles Represent Tolls. Grey Lines Represent The Avenue as a Divided Highway. Option A: Travelers are tolled AFTER they cross the bridge in each direction. Option C: Travelers are tolled on the Northern or Western Portion of the Bridge. Option B: Travelers are tolled BEFORE they cross the bridge in each direction. Option D: Travelers are tolled on the Southern or Eastern Portion of the Bridge. 2Nerdy4u, congratulations on your first purchase in the Newark Island Region. You now own the South Island Bridge, to be renamed into the Union 93 Propaganda bridge upon completion of the toll setup! Here is your deed, keep record of it! YoshiiIsland, congratulations on your first purchase in the Newark Island Region. You now own The Eaton Bridge, Here is your deed, keep record of it! Great job guys! I'm so thrilled we finally got this project started and our first purchases were made, even I was alittle worried when we were planning this project but it appears as if everything will be going smoothly!
