cleaner475 - Might be a moment before the next update, we'll see though. MPTC - Coming together slowly but surely! Shingure - The primary function and objective of Newark was to mine resources to sell to the market, in turn the share holders would become rich overnight (which is why they're not so eager to sell themselves to the U.S.) thus Newark is indeed a mostly Industrial city and currently most of the businesses in Newark only revolve around the industry that propels Newark. MPTC - It's going to be awhile before Commercial surpasses Industry in Newark for the following reasons. - Newark is focused on mining raw resources which requires massive Industries... - Most of Newarks residents are only trained to work in factories thus most of Newark is uneducated. - Unless a business were coming to Newark to set up industry to mine those resources, Newark is actually not a desirable location as the island itself would stand to set up a dislocation from the rest of the business world. - Costs to transport utilities to and from the Island would be inflated - No desirable workers for business. - Newark promotes no forms of Tourism. - Political Unrests and the instability of diplomatic situations detour businesses that don't want the resources. - No REAL demand for the business life in Newark as the Industry firm is making what small white colar crowd there is, so rich, that they don't desire any kind of change. - There's no other reason for businesses to stive in Newark other than the Oil / Coal...(You wouldn't find a paper firm in a place that lacked tree's for example) Thus Newark would be in need for tremendous changes before the commerce life rockets... Here are your population lists... Residential 153,172 Commercial 23,213 Industrial 71,332

MPTC - No problemo rocketoink - Apparently you didn't read the instructions , thats okay because I gave you a direct link... Scroll down on that link that I gave you and there should be a table holding all the Grids (A1 through G6 in this case)... Click on the grid that interests you and that will give you an image of it. In your case, you would click on "B5" and you will have an image of the B5 location. I will no longer be posting grids and parcel images on this message board as that was the purpose of the website, to hold them all at once, this way I would not have to be running back and forth trying to get multiple images when people only really want to use one or especially when people request the same images within two weeks of each other. Less work on my part and I can concentrate time on more areas of Newark. For future references of the grids section and the instructions of how to do it... go here... http://www.bluehopecityjournal.bravehost.com/Grid/index.html willg - All grid images were taken from zoom level 4 (the 4th from the closest and the 2nd from the highest) Benedict - Thank you, it's not so much as boring but it is VERY time consuming. First they have to be taken, then they all have to be converted into JPEGS and named accordingly to their grid intersect, and then they all have to be uploaded and implemented onto the website. and since this website is just a freewebsite, these images would quickly eat my file space so I have to upload them onto photobucket and provide direct links from my website to them so it's alittle tricky... but updating them won't be hard at all...

rocketoink - Your request has been fullfilled and you can now view it here ____________________________ Update: The website has been updated, new Parcels and more, have a look around and tell me what you think...
  4. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

MPTC - He built the roads as a place holder I'm presuming just so he could post it faster... It is also bland because complex airports are extremely expensive... Newark isn't ready for a huge complex airport yet... remember, this is geared toward realism. willg - I have no problem with the selling of Gates but the total cost of the airport will still need to be paid for (or divided upon the gate holders, however you or anyone decides) before construction can begin. The landrights for this structure alone will cost somewhere around 2,000 - 2,500 points estimating that it will encompass 1,600 tiles... This doesn't include destruction costs for any building it might be placed over, nor does it include the actual construction of the runway, buildings... The runway will cost 50 extra points, Tarmac and Buildings will run you somewhere around another 1,600 Points meaning it will cost around 4150 Points to build a structure like that... Give me a tile count of all the biulding / tarmac tiles, and a tile count of the exact land around the airport and I will give you the total cost to build this structure.... Remember that the land around the actual airport must remain square, as in, it has to encompass the complete perimeter of the airport and not just the tiles the airport occupies otherwise we would have developments spawning too close to airport property...

2nerdy4u - I can try, the thing is, the higher the quality, the larger the file size, the first version of this was over 1 Gigabyte... I wouldn't beable to host it nor would it load very quickly... This version is around 27 Megabytes... Music is possible, I didn't try it before so I don't know how it will affect the filesize... we'll see though... oh yeah, it definately reminded me of a real highway...
  6. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Benedict - Very well, I'll begin construction immediately... I'll have photo's posted after I'm done with the Parcel/Grid section of the website (College begins soon and my time online is going to be cut in half so I REALLY need to hurry up and get this done) Yoshiisland - You're going to love what I'm about to post in that case... willg - Very nice, I'm also going to post Parcel 21 (Where millidgeville is) on the website maybe even by tonight so you can further plan... MPTC - Very well... lilmanjs - I might start a few developments off of it myself when time and opportunity meet... ____________________________ Now for a small update, I'm going to start video tours UPON REQUEST ONLY. In this, you will beable to see your most up to date development in action from UDI point of view... ...Here is a sample... Lets take a ride on the completed new 202/A2 Tollway by Tuckaway Transportation... View it now
  7. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

jacqulina - Thank you! willg - Thank you! KingTitan - Thanks, I had no choice but to use custom Interchanges though. The ground highway certainly wasn't going to give me the flexability or freedom to do the kind of things I did with the 202/A2 Tollway. No traffic issues with anything yet but these highways are still relatively new too and were built to replace crowded alaignments of road... (and it worked too)... Anyway, all the interchanges you see will be replaced with the MIS, if / when it ever comes out.
  8. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Yoshiisland - Cool, keep me posted! willg - Nice work, I'll see if it can be included on some of Newarks freeway signs when it is built. Benedict - That actually may be a nice idea, I'll either start doing it here or the website. lilmanjs - X3 Brotha and now... finally for the Update... _____________________________________ First I want to inform rockettoink that I am still processing your request and I am going to upload the entire parcel for you to view on the website, sorry for the delay but this will prevent me from furthing having to post this Parcel. Now, let me settle Benedicts request for the rail project so he can get started... First, here is the Main train station in Downtown Newark, I'm going to wait for you to puchase before handing your deed... As we can see, the station was able to be biult onto a slope. The biulding that sits above the actual station will be your new headquarters Benedict for managing your railway portions and passenger stations. Congratulations on getting a spot in Downtown. For passengers, there is functional parking conviniently located across the street in which they can access the station from. Once inside, they will be introduced to a small mall environment where there will be ticketing agents, and small restaurants and shopping. Upon proceeding to the actual rails, you will use a series of parralell escalators that proceed downward, leaving ground level into the sunken level. Handicap will beable to use elevators conviniently located on both sides of the biulding. Upon arriving, the platform, while not the largest train station, will be aquadate to accomidate the demands for Newarks Passenger in this area... Lets have a closer look... What do you think? Benedict, this will purchase you 100 more tiles of the SSRL and 7 Passenger Stations. South Shore Rail Line Monthly Expenses
  9. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Yoshiisland - very well, take your time! Nice mall btw I might want to use it when you're done. rocketoink - You're welcome! willg - Ah yes like a top 5... there could be different catagories too, like the top 5 with the most points and the top 5 with the most expensive developments. That can be arranged. It will most likely be shown in the Showcase, but give it a minute as I'm already maxxed out right now trying to get the website together and satisfy requests before the end of this month as I'll go into college and that will cut productivity in half if the website isn't fully functional by then... As for the website...Yes I was going to do that, most of that will be finished after I get the grid / parcels and graphs are into full capacity... Benedict - Very well, thank you. I'm working on your rail request... for the hell of it I've already biult the main station. I'll be getting you your quote for the portion of line you requested and stations by tomorrow... MPTC - Yes, and to put it simply, Lantia Parkway acts as the imaginary dividing line between both cities after Lantia Parkway leaves the East/West Connector's terminus... willg - Cool! lilmanjs - Tomorrow night. ______________________________ I finished my car mid-afternoon and with a prayer that what I did worked, drove it and it all came out perfectly. Now as for the next update as I know since we havn't had a photo update in a long time, many of you are anxious. I'm going to give you the status of it. Houmet Estate - Complete > Quote / Deed - Pending Le Vardes Tower - Complete > Quote / Deed - Pending 202/A2 Tollway - Complete / All toll gantries have been added. Benedict's Portion of South Shore Rail Line > Main downtown station - Complete > Quote for rail expansion and station building - Pending Atlantic Drive - Complete Tuckaway Highway - In Progress Parcel 20 Request - Pending (I'm going to grid this Parcel and put it on the website) Lantia / Tuckaway City Limits Request - Pending If I missed anyone's request, please by all means tell me now! Again sorry for the delay but be aware this takes time, especially when bat's become involved as I first have to find and download the suitable ones and install them. I am but one man and I do have alot I must tend to behind Newark aswell but I promise that those who are patient will see the best pay..
  10. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Yoshiisland - Awsome job!!! MUCH better I knew you could do it kiddo! You're really on a role now.. keep up the good work! See how persistance pays? I noticed you also know how to make .exe files now too! I'm not trying to request too much but I noticed on the Roadtop Bus lots you asked me to download, it had a feature where you first most plop a certain biulding down, then after a game month, the menu for the actual buslots, subway stops, ect would appear... and would grey out when the biulding is destroyed. I was wondering for your highway signs the present and future ones... if it would be possible to create such a feature as dealing with numerous bats from everyones request inthis CJ and maintain a realistic level is definately going to clog up my menu's... if you cannot then it is fine though.
  11. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

2nerdy4u - Very well, your points will be placed back into your account! suplado! - Thank you! rocketoink - Thank you for joining and you will begin with 30 Points. I am very happy you have enjoyed it long enough to read the entire thing! I will give you photo's of Parcel 20 within the next photo update... As for your P.S. message and I understand you're kidding in a sense... BUT I give points based upon talent... Yoshiisland has contributed over 50 Bats he created himself to Newark thus his reward was well deserved. Also don't think that just because you have high points that you're well off because the higher point players deal with higher priced items. For instance the 202/A2 Tollway costed over 1,000 Points to biuld. Power plants and utilities are also more expensive than standard developments too. Airports and Seaports aswell so rest assure everything is still within means. Oh and you broke a rule ... never look at another members status and tell him or anyone that they have to little or too much, just concentrate on your own development and look for ways to better your predicament.and I'm not trying to sound to harsh but the last thing we need in Newark is an Envy or Jelousy party... No worries though, Welcome aboard mate... enjoy! willg - Very well, while you CAN purchase towns, Millidgeville is a VERY large town actually while it carries the smallest population, it is larger than both South Island and Eaton and you would need to purchase it by purchasing land which... well lets just say it won't be cheap at all.. You CAN purchase sections at a city at a time though from what you can afford but at this point, since it is only farmland it won't profit you enough to cover the expenses and thus you would be better off starting a new development. When you say rich list, what do you mean exactly? Are you saying a list of members rated to see who has the best property or a system of determining which property has higher value? If the latter, there already is one as you're charged if your residential development is within school, hospital coverage or near a beach, or freeway or all of these and they do add up too. likewise if your commercial sector is near a major highway or freeway or within downtown or near a beach... or if your industrial development is near a railway or major highway / freeway, seaport and such... Benedict - Very well done! I'll be sure to put that on the website too under your consent upon completion... I was thinking of parking in Downtown...

Yoshiisland - Done! lilmanjs - Yes it very well will. 2nerdy4u - Ty! ___________________________ Okay a few announcements, I might be scrapping the "Projects" page on the website as it will be too much to keep up with at once. (the purpose of the website was to reduce the amount of work I would need to do here, not increase it) If I keep it, I doubt it would have visual images up front, possibaly links but it will most likely just give a bit of a news briefing about your development. BUT we'll all see in the end... I'm beggining to compile requests and should have them ready by Friday or Saturday night...(I have to fix my "camaro" tomorrow, bad water pump / also have a placement exam for my new college.) Very nice work, see? you're coming along quite well...
  15. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Benedict - Okay I'll see what I can do! As for station naming, maybe they should sequenced by a hystoric event, or maybe simply by the area they service. I'm not that great with names hah. As for the busstops, we're waiting on Tuckaway transportation to see what they wish to do with the bus system. And yes, the parcel and grid system is by far the hardest and most tedious but most rewarding part of this site. To do those 2 Parcels alone took me about half a day so they will be added rather slowly but updating them is very easy as you'll only need to update one or two images per development... willg - Thank you! Yoshiisland - Awsome, take your time, no rushes no worries... Oh and any word on donating those points? I'd like to start on Tuckaway Highway for lilmanjs for this next upcoming update. willg - I like B, it throws itself out of the normal appearance of a standard airport... Any runway plans? An airport that large is either going to have to destroy a few farms to be located off the main freeway system or be placed way out in the middle of nowere in which a new high capacity road would need to be routed to it.
  16. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

jacqulina - Thank you! Benedict - Cool, is there any particular train station you would like to use?
  17. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

At long last! The Blue Hope City Journal website has been launched! It is not complete, nor is it perfected. - Completely ignore the Showcase link for now - Parcel's 1 and 2 have been posted - Regional Transportation is 100% Complete - City Scape 6th Zoom Level is Complete (still contemplating on a 4th) - The points system has been posted - Global Village featured for the featured developments this week. http://www.bluehopecityjournal.bravehost.com/ Now I need to make a Banner. There's several more things to come in the site such as more Parcel's and their grids for development (this takes a long time.) and maps for civic services... Tell me what you think...
  18. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Sorry to keep you all in suspense... the website is uploading as I type and will be posted very soon... I just returned from Orlando, unfortunately I was lucky enough to return with a cold... The website is still far from complete however I am now going to tend to users requests... thank you for your paitence... ALSO - I am offering a 1,000 Point Grant to those who help me with certain tasks in biulding this website! YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW WEBDESIGN OF ANY SORT! I just need help in getting various grid images and graphs / data views that way I can have them up in a timely manner... I will show you how to do and what you need to do... Anyone interested, PM me and we'll arrange a file transfer. I will transfer Newark and its Plugins to you. Originally posted by: Mr. Monorail Man if you passed by campbell county on I-75 after you entered Tennessee, I live there, get off at exit:135 anturn left at shell gas station and follow that road to go to my high schoolquote> I live in Atlanta, you're north of me so I didn't pass through Tennesse but it was cool regardless, I-75 in South Georgia has changed alot... 19. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

willg - The western part has been posted before quite a few pages back (it's going to take me awhile before I can get it up) Nothing has changed on it at all though. It was requested by Amerikaner... I didn't notice your post, sorry about that. As for the tallest tower... That is going to be hard because SC4 has relative distances unless the tower's height is obviouse... I offer no promises but in the future we'll see...
  20. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Okay guys... took a road trip and am now typing from Orlando Florida so my updates might be a bit slow over the weekend. I can only access the internet from the lobby of the Hotel. I have everything on my laptop so I can still Update and such it's just going to be mildly slower over the weekend... Oh god, I-75 from Atlanta to Florida is becoming badass... 3 lanes eachway from the city for 250 miles straight when they're done with it... Every interchange has tower lighting aswell and many portions (more than not) have street lighting as if you never left the city... Encountered THREE truck accidents, two of which delayed me for more than an hour (in Gainesville Florida) which was fustrating but I made it. jacqulina - Thank you... Yoshiisland - Hopefully will be up and running soon... MOST of the content won't be there YET but atleast it WILL be online. willg - Do you mean Islands AWAY from the main city or NEAR the main city? South Island is considered apart of the main city and is mostly residential with mild spurts of commerce here and there. The only downfall is there's only one way in and out and thats a tolled bridge... Oh and Highway 35 (the road that enters it) is very congested. lilmanjs - Thank you, like stated before it should be up soon
  21. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

willg - Thank you! iamihop11 - I should definately have something launched by the 15th of this month, I doubt everything will be functional but ATLEAST it will be up. Everything should be functional however by the end of this month... just in time for college lol. I do remember your plans however I highly recommend you use some more current images as Downtown has changed a bit since you've posted those images and alot of the biuldings you wanted have changed or been destroyed because the relocation of the rail lines and the project to lower the freeway into a sunken state... I'll try and get some images of downtown for you by tonight...
  22. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

Here, for all of those interested; is a very small sample of what is instore for the Blue Hope CJ Website... photo of the main page as it stands... Keep in mind there are no links yet...
  23. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

MPTC - Undoubtfully... Benedict - Website should be up very soon... Not everything will be posted at once however as I'm going to release it prematurely. I'm still trying to think of the most efficient way to purchase roads and rails. It will most likely have to be through the grid setup but maps will be posted anyway for reference basis... willg - Very well... I will acredit 100 points into your account from IHope Loans and begin the construction. This and your proposed tower above will probably be the final developments to be seen on the website until it is updated again. lilmanjs - Progress is rather good. All of the transportation maps are done, the Region views are nearly complete, the Grid sectors for development are around 20% complete (these take a LONG time to make but they're very easy to update so this will be the longest part of it all. ) The website itself is in development phase, Index being around 70% complete but I havn't uploaded it yet... I havn't made the rest of the pages but they won't take too long either... jacqulina - Thank you!
  24. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

jacqulina - Thank you, much appreciate! Benedict - I can't put a rail station right there as it wouldn't be fully accessable. It's right off the freeway Exit / Frontage Road. Also so you know... that railway is Sunken so the station will need to be at the same height as the tracks of course. It would be impossible to bring the railway, at that level back to surface street level aswell so the station there will also have to be sunken. My idea it to put the station on the otherside of the tracks in a sunken Den, keep the nearby road at surface street level, provide parking on the otherside of the road, and a pedestrian walkway and stairway to the sunken station. willg - Okay so you desire me to biuld everything thats NOT in the blackbox as first stage? lilmanjs - Not yet, waiting on Yoshiisland's approval to donate points to Tuckaway Transportation. iamihop11 - 100 Points will be credited to willg's account...As for your development, unfortunately nothing can be purchased on the South Side of Atlantic Drive thus making it impossible for me to create it as Atlantic Drive is about to be widened to put it short... It's a surprise project I'm workng on. But basically... Anything on the Northside (away from the beach) will be fine to develope and purchase...
  25. Blue Hope - The Interactive City Journal

iamihop11 - Unless you want points divided differently or set into a different account you create and both parties agree, then points will be defaultly divided equally into your accounts... thus if it costed 4 points to biuld a biulding and you split the cost, you would be deducted 2 points each. Same goes for income. I will have to be noted of joint deals of course. If you desire to have points awarded in different increments between partners... just let me know... and I've added 50 points to IHOPE Trust... ObladiOblada - LoL That just made my night... Attention: As posted on your deeds... Everyone will be paid on October 31st... The cutoff day is October 15th in which everything from there will reflect on November 31st!
