My first map share. I wanted a large tile map that I could hopefully complete in full, so made this for myself. It has just 9 large tiles in total. All areas match up and have trees and woodland animals. The land is mainly flat with some small undulations, apart from the obvious mountain top left! There is an island tile bottom right. I hope someone finds the map useful. -
Downloaded this earlier but after checking the file it's only 450mbs so it's corrupted basically. I'm trying again The link on this site to download won't accept my username and password. Does it mean username and password for Simtropolis or username and password for CitiesXL? I've never actually joined the CitiesXL site and can't sign up now cos they're down.

Ah yes, thanks. Sounds good, however is this still true zoning? Will it only produce buildings if sims want to move in or do you think buildings will appear too easily. This is what worries me, because this is an important key to making the game a challenge.

I've just gone back to playing Sim City 4 - and created one of my best cites ever! Anyway this all lead me to reminisce about this classic game and at the same time feel sorry that it was abandoned. I've just come back here to check what's going on and saw the news about CITES XL! Everything about it looks extremely impressive, but as someone who is having to catch up with all the news, I wonder if someone could tell me if the BASIC concept and KEY to Sim City will be the same in Cities XL. I'm talking about the fact that industry, commerce and residents will only move in if they like the city, and the wealth of these residents only increases with the wealth of the city. I've read about the combination of zones and plopping on their blog but don't quite understand it. I think that if you can choose what buildings will appear then the game is lost - it will just be like drawing a pretty picture with buildings. Please please please I hope they just do a Sim City 5, because you can't improve on it... well you can improve the glitchy graphics and straight roads etc but Sim City 4 is five years old now and anyway that's just eye candy at the end of the day. I didn't even buy Sim Societies.
