Road Top Mass Transit - My Improvements
DragonFire1380 replied to cjmarshall's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
Iv been so annoyed with the lots as of late that I destroyed all my cities from that region. Tho, I did in fact try laying the tunnel along side the lots and nothing changed. At least for me anyways... Hmmm....I just had a look in iLive. All the subway only lots do have a transit switch cost, I only changed the bus and subway lots since thats all I use. I wonder if for whatever reason the traffic sim is useing the values from all the lots even tho a certain lot might not be in use.....Does that makes sense? Something else is I don't recall this happening before. -

You might want to change to a request for at least one more pack that fixes the three problems you listed along with fixing the pathfinding.....hmmm....even better just redo the whole traffic simulator. The ability to have surface water. Heck they should even throw in some of the highest rated lots from the STEX, they could add so many new RCI growables.... -

May I suggest that you change #2 to include all RCI ploppable buildings. Res lots are by far the biggest problem but Industrial lots always have long freight trips which causes such great buildings as the AMD Fab 70 lot to look nasty once it turn black because of this. Commercial lots have a problem with the customers factor. -

Date: 9/8/2004 8:56:32 AM Author: Marc Collins Do avenue stops actually work now--and not block traffic/cause sims to do almost anything to avoid them? If so, congratulations!!!!!!!!quote> I started a thread about this problem, tho my problem was with all the lots and not just the avenue one. It was suggested that the problem could be caused by using a pathfinding mod that also increase the speed by 10x. While I still have some problems, I have managed to fix most of it by changing the switching cost for the lots. -

I'm surpised no one has asked for this yet but what about Bill Gates houes? -
First Id like to admit that I havent read all 4 pages of this post yet. However, Id like to add my comments about the suggestion of St.Louis. I wouldnt use it, I live 40 miles west of it and there are tons of people that drive to the city from 40-60 miles away, lot dont even live in STL county. Not to mention all the people that come from IL and vice versa. There is no subway, no monorail, or heavy rail....at least I dont think so. You have metrolink wish I suppose comes close to above rail but I dont think its all that to even consider... Just my thoughts..

I didnt realize that the game had to have that % at a given pop. It nice that they made the game in a way that we can edit such things but geez they made it all more complex then what it needs to be. I say they just make a patch that turns everything back to the way Simcity Classic worked.

Instead of lowering or raising the caps, why not just change the percent chances? At the moment, there is a 1% chance of getting a stage 8 res building when your pop is 46,000. Why not make it to where its 1% chance at 80,000 sims? For com, you can just increase the % for a lower pop number. CO-$$ has a 3% of stage 6 buildings with a pop of 9,086. Make it say 6% instead. EDIT: hhmmmm.....just forget that idea. I just realized that all the stages only have percent chances up to 125,267 pop which would make things confusing when trying to change the percents of stage 1-6.
