It is a largely residential area with a population of roughly 100,000 Puerto Joyans. Commercial activities in La Rhea are mainly concentrated along the major thoroughfares that connect La Rhea to the other districts. Dakudao Avenue connects the district of San Antonio Hills to the Poblacion.Along this Avenue is the Business and Finance campus of the Univeristy of Puerto Joya , the Puerto Joya Medical Center and Greenhills Shopping Center; a popular destination for buying electronic gadgets and bootleg clothings JP Laurel Avenue connects the Poblacion and the southern districts to the Puerto Joya International Airport. It is one of Puerto Joya's longest Avenue that spans the districts of Poblacion, La Rhea and the northern edges of the city.
