  1. The Empire of Chaumont - 'Delightfully Oppressive'

That region view is striking! It looks remarkably real! Its as if my monitor is a window from a plane. All that's missing is a flight attendent offering me a drink! Great job Jarno ~ your work continues to impress and inspire! As always I am looking forward to future updates!
  2. just wanted to show you my terraforming

Good going Jacqulina! Your off to a fine start and have tackled the terraforming end of things quite well. Expect me to be one of your followers and supporters. I appreciate all the nice comments and support you have given me towards my CJ since I started. I look forward to seeing future updates! Keep up the good work! Cheers, ~MPM
  3. Green Depra

Its been a few months my friend! Green Depra sure is keeping with its theme! That swamp was inspiration and gave me some cool ideas. The way you layed it out was very nicely executed! Makes me want to go for an airboat ride! I managed to browse a few pages back until my d-up connection got the best of me. That mosaic of yours was simply spectacular! I can really appreciate the effort you put forth! Don't have much time these days but I hope to get caught up on everything I've missed here. See you around!
  4. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

I figured I would start a thread showcasing my lot work. All my lots are enhanced to look more brilliant and realistic at night along with plenty of small details. All are transit enabled to various degrees. I offer most of these lots as rewards to those who follow my CJ. This thread will provide techinical help and list dependencies with links to them. Some of these lots will not be offered on the STEX due to the large number of dependencies and will only be available by e-mail. Requests for the lots can be made here or in my Glen Harbor CJ. Please do not PM me for the lots. After I see your post in one of the threads I will PM you requesting an e-mail address to send the lost to. My lots are detail oriented and some contain props that can no longer be found ~ these props will be included in each zip file. Anyway here is my latest creation using the LE. Palmer Ship-Building Co. Lot 1 of 2: This is what I started with ~ a Japanese Navy Lot from a modeler named Aviation Club Member. The original lot and models are no longer available for download and I aquired them through a trade. http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/2272/bp594ri.jpg align=baseline> First I added some night lighting to the ganty crane and some maxis building props to one side of the lot: http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/8124/bp612wp.jpg align=baseline> Some more details: http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/6229/bp620dm.jpg align=baseline> Some more Japanese props and it was all downhill from there ~ below are the final results: http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/8163/bp748ru.jpg align=baseline> http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/2597/bp723zz.jpg align=baseline> http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/7958/bp731qx.jpg align=baseline> http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/4060/bp714ug.jpg align=baseline> http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/6429/bp699ls.jpg align=baseline> This lot is the first of 2 and will be released when both are completed and tested. Here are some pics of some of my past creations: MPM Hamilton Park Station http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/9676/bogv072on.jpg align=baseline> MPM Franklin D Roosevelt Station http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5809/bogv025pd.jpg align=baseline> MPM Chemical Complex: http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/300/bobp023go.jpg align=baseline> Downtown Waterfront: http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/791/bp796nw.jpg align=baseline> Hope you all enjoy my work so far and I look forward to any feedback or questions! Cheers! ~MPM
  5. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

OK I am back! Thank you all for your comments. I will try to get some of the lots requested to you but since the STEX makeover I have some time consuming problems to work through. In the meantime if there is a lot you wanted try sending off some PMs to those who requested them earlier in the thread. Peeps who already have the lots plaese feel free to share them if you can ~ thanks! My next lot is going to be inspired by FDR drive in NYC. I want to recreate a section like the one near the UN where the HWY passes underneath several buildings. The riverside of the HWY is visible and runs along concrete columns. Here you will be able to see cars pass through. I don't have much time these days so don't expect loads of updates. This next lot should be pretty cool though and I have been planning it for some time. Cheers, ~MPM
  6. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

Sorry I was away for awhile! Thut ~ Thanks for your input and the warm welcome to page 3! clamor_m ~ don't know if there was a browser cashe problem or what but the last version I loaded to the STEX had a capacity of 10,000. I decided to rename the zip file incase it was a cashe thing so I suggest downloading the lot again. Sorry for your troubles but I just tested the lot by downloading it today and placing it in the game ~ capacity came up as 10,000. Swamper77 ~ Thanks again for helping out! jacqulina ~ Thanks! Sorry for the lack of updates and new lots but I am busy working on the MAPP.
  7. Cadott Bay

Your combo of seawalls is outstanding! I dig all the lot work and details as well. What can I say this CJ has some of the best waterfront developments and layouts I have seen! Very easy on the eye with a nice real world look! Bravo and keep it comming!
  8. The Empire of Chaumont - 'Delightfully Oppressive'

Nice job and very entertaining! I gotta have more though! Keep up the outstanding work!!
  9. Sinop - Homeland of Waters - My first CJ

I guess all good things come to an end. Gonna miss the great night shots. Your last few updates were excellent. I bet this CJ goes out with a bang! Good luck and I look forward to the final updates!
  10. Views around Grizzly Gulch

Lots of variety here! Great start ~ this CJ sure is packed with a lot of nice pics! Nice use of the canals and I thought the industrial area was done very well. The medium density areas look promising. That region shot was excellent! I look forward to what's coming next! Good choice going with Cycledog's mod!
  11. Battlefront Zanapolis | SciFi BAT plant

This CJ is a real gas! Looks like you are having a great time with it. Glad I finally got the chance to see it. Now you have me hooked ~ so I'll be looking in for more od your unique and entertaining content.
  12. Simtropia

Back on topic. Great updates my friend! Your harbors are layed out like no other and have a very nice flow! Great imagination at work there! As for deciding which walls ~ I think that's best left up to you since you are doing an outstanding job with the BAT so far! Only one thing I see that might need some detailing ~ the dock piles. I live right near a port with many different kinds of piles and none of them retain a cone shape for very long and are usually flattened at the top. Another common thing to do is to cover the piles with tarps with old care tires. This might look really cool mixed in with with your set-up and help out with the difficulty of recreating the complicated pile textures by hiding them. Glad to see trade between our cities is going well and Greater Glen Harbor Port Authority would like to exchange a couple of mid range ships for one mega frieghter for overseas commerce in the near future. The people of Glen harbor and its outer ports look forward to the added commerce with Simtropia! Keep up the good work! Don't know how you manage to do so much in such little time!
  13. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

NightlyCity ~ sorry for the inconvenience! Swamper ~ Thanks again for your help!. Its an honor to have you lurking around and posting.
  14. Escape to Ampark City!

Here we go ~ my 2nd CJ. This is just a teaser of what is to come. Ampark City will feature the soon to be released MAPP (Modular Amusement Park Project) Click this link for more info: Modular Amusement Park Project Ampark city will be a Vegas/resort type city with a utopian twist. The city will be quite modern and will feature a sleek monorail network, some ground light rail or trolleys and a large international airport. There will be loads of parks, ritzy residential areas, hotel and conference centers, sporting venues, shopping malls and a of course a thriving central bussiness district. The NAM Ped Mall tiles will be used extensivly in this city with many lots customized to enhance their usage. The following cheats and mods will be used in the making of this CJ. - The mega cash park - The latest NAM - Super Demand Mod - Bridge Height Mod - No one way arrows - Cycledog's Terrain Mod - Unindensity Streets Mod - Zebra Crossing Mod - Streets No Grass Mod - No Palms mod - 180 Year Abandonment Mod - AA Nightwater Peach Sunset - No Dilapidation Mod The city wil be built on a lagre tile in my current Glen Harbor region. OK now that all this is out of the way here are a couple of teaser shots: 1-1: It all has to start somewhere: 1-2: I hope to see many of you come along for the ride!
  15. Escape to Ampark City!

Thanks for the comments guys! pnorrell ~ you could build a pretty large theme park with the upcoming MAPP and other add-ons like pond kits ploppable water, the country club, etc... You'll see what I mean as I move forward. Well I finally got some time to develop the city to the point that I have a well utilized monorail network running. I needed to get a bit of a city going before I could work on the park. 1-12: Getting started with the layout ~ dense industrial was zoned behind the mountains and linked to the coast via monorail and the expressway: 1-13: 1-14: I zoned quite a bit of high density along the monorail and expressway. Population shot past 20,000 pretty quickly. 1-15: A closer look: 1-16: Zooming in on the Southgate entrance to the park: (*as you can see I made some changes to the monorail station): http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/9441/amp263wh.jpg align=baseline> 1-17: Southgate Station at night: http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3271/amp278md.jpg align=baseline> Now that I have the city up and going its time to build the park! Next up more entrance gates, parking lots, rides, and monorail stations. Hope you like the way things are taking shape! EDIT: Looks like I have time to get in a few more: 1-18: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/2569/amp232xv.jpg align=baseline> 1-19: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/7199/amp243ma.jpg align=baseline> 1-20: http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/3711/amp257zj.jpg align=baseline>
  16. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

JaneJacobs ~ downloding the updated station would be fastest because its such a small file. Just copy and paste it to your plugins folder and you should get a prompt asking if you want to replace the file. Utilizing the SC4 tool would give you some practice so its up to you. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Here is the link: MPM Rail Yard and Freight Station
  17. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

pnorrell ~ I here you about the maxis buildings. I already made some changes to that lot and toned it down a bit. I will post some pics in a little while. Remember this station gate is for the hotel & condo district and will be an add-on release to the pack. I am also workiing on the main gate which is going to have all the things you mentioned we are even adding lighted letter sign poles to indicate the parking sections. I'll check out Portico de Gramado as well but these gates are only temps we are going to BAT our own. Andreas ~ thanks! ~ I will shoot him over a PM and thank him personally. You were still a great help though as I now know what I was doing wrong with the switching so all my future lots now will be perfect. I also added switches so trucks can pass straight through. Before the tool came out I used to just cut and paste the maxis switches so I never had any problems.
  18. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

Thank you Andreas! I am glad you took the time to do this. I will change the transit switch right away. I really thought they where maxis textures as they matched up with the streets perfectly. That SC4 tool sure is awesome!!! Swamper ~ thanks so much for saving me some time!!!!!!!. Now I am off to update the file. Thanks again you guys!
  19. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

jeronij ~ Thanks ~ maybe I'll get to see it in Simtropia! As for the LE I already had that happen to me. What I did was remove the lot from the plugins folder and opened up the LE. After viewing a file or so I closed out the LE and moved the lot back into the plugins folder. This worked very well. davidchomes ~ Swamper is right on. If you have any more troubles please feel free to post them. Swamper ~ Thanks for helping out!!! OK here are some pics of my latest lot. It is designed to fit in with the MAPP. It will probably be a special release though as the lots for the MAPP need to be more user friendly and flexible. This lot will still be the basis for the upcomming monorail stations for the project. Southgate Monorail Station with eye candy Maxis buildings: This station is transit enabled to work in conjunction with the PED mall tiles from the NAM. http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/2929/amp111jp.jpg align=baseline> http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/2192/amp110ja.jpg align=baseline> http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/7651/amp132zl.jpg align=baseline>
  20. The TMS CJ Rating Scale!

Just a few more comments from me and I'll be done. First off I don't think this thread should be pinned. All its going to do is take views away from newer CJs and peeps trying to get a good start. What does highest rated really mean anyway? Its too subjective. A better term for your methods would be Most popular CJs not highest rated. You see lowly peeps like me have dial-up and that makes things difficult when it comes to the reciprocity factor ~ if you comment on mine I'll comment on yours type of thing. I simply cannot view and comment on many of the CJs out there ~ even to those with CJs that continually support mine ~ basically the more active you are here the more views your banner or text link will get thus improving your chances of getting more views and responses. With that said I think the most important non-objective factor in determining the quality of a CJ here is the number of unique visitor responses. After thinking of your work this way I was pleased to see how my CJ ranked considering the amount of time the higher rated CJs had to accumulate all those views and responses. Another cool way to non-objectivly rate CJs is the number of unique responses per month. This can be averaged out to maintain a score. EDIT ~ I would have no problem with this being pinned if the title were simply changed. Something like this might be more suited: The TMS CJ Popularity Scale!
  21. Escape to Ampark City!

OK: Here are some of the lots I have configured so far. All the lots allow PEDs to pass through to connecting PED Mall tiles. http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/8821/mapp135rw.jpg align=baseline> http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/4879/mapp149af.jpg align=baseline> We are getting closer but I think the initial releases will be ready in a few weeks or so.
  22. Escape to Ampark City!

Thanks again for the nice comments! First off I want to mention a few things that make the MAPP somewhat special. All of the MAPP lots will have jobs and each will merge with the PED Mall tiles to keep those jobs. Each MAPP lot is transit enabled for pedestrians to pass through ~ the lots in a sense act like the mall tiles themselves. The result is you can plop and zone commercial buildings in the parks along the pathways. Skyscrapers can grow even though there are no roads. The key to developing your park to its fullist is to loop a form of mass transit around the park. I am now developing a Monorail network for release. Each Monorail station will serve as a gate or provide access to the mall tiles. For maximum efficiency the stations will have a large footprint. (some of the roller coasters are even larger.) Several transit enabled overpass lots for the ped tiles will also be provided along with some other neat things. Later on I will be developing a GLR version but it will not be as efficient as the monorail because of the limitaions in the size stations you can create ~ meaning you will need more stations. In this update I will showcase the begining of the Monorail network: The completion of Ampark Citie's Southgate Monorail Station: This station has a footprint of 18x6 tiles allowing for multiple mall tile pathways to connect to it. Maxis buildings were used on this station for eyecandy. The station itself though is an intregal part in developing the park. There will be some stripped down verions of the stations for individual customization. I would also like to personally thank PEG for packaging all his light cones for the me and the project. If you like nightlighting you will find the MAPP lots to be exceptional! 1-5 ~ Southgate Station looking Northward: 1-6 ~ a closer look: EDIT ~ Pic coming soon! 1-7 ~ Looking Southward: http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/5364/amp081jq.jpg align=baseline> Now for a couple of nightshots showcasing PEG's custom light cones (for streetlights, under building effects and more) 1-8: http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/2929/amp111jp.jpg align=baseline> 1-9: http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/2192/amp110ja.jpg align=baseline> Hope you all like the results and please keep the feedback coming!
  23. The TMS CJ Rating Scale!

Again pretty much the same old stuff. I think there might be quite a few inactive CJs there. I would like to see something more current. Regardless ~ I am one who could care less about how highly rated my CJ's are. Anyway thanks for your effort ~ it must have taken some time. Now if someone would take the time to rate the cities on how well they are planned, attention to fine details, custom content, and overall quality of the work ~ That would be nice. Many of the tops CJs on that list have roads, streets, etc.. sloped so steep you would need a winch to ease the vehicles down. I guess these ratings reflect popularity more so than quality.
  24. MPMs Night Enhanced Lots

Thanks everyone for the complements! Dupontfan24 ~ Most of those lots are not available yet. Anyway I sent you a PM with the link to the Palmer Shipbuilding lots. The Chem Plant you will get on the next upload ~ which might be awhile but I'll make sure you get it. Anyway folks I will be spending the next few weeks working on the Modular Amusement Park Project. Be sure to check out my work there or in my new CJ Ampark City. Just scroll down to my sig for the links. In the meantime I was hoping some of you might load up some pics of how you used the lots in your cities. That would be cool! Here is a preview of how my lot-making is shaping the look of the MAPP: http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/4879/mapp149af.jpg align=baseline> http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/8821/mapp135rw.jpg align=baseline> Cheers, and happy city building! ~MPM
  25. Escape to Ampark City!

I always fine tune the mountains before I add the trees. Right now they are feeling the effects of the smooth terrain tool. BTW ~ The amusement park first shown was a test area. I will be starting a new park from scratch.
