I actually HAVE gotten that message from the city-planner. I just never thought anything of it. Similar to them complaining about no fire department.
-
I have never heard of this before. Where did you come across that?

1) Parks do not need road access 2) Parks do raise population caps. I don't know if it is a linear increase or not, but multiple parks do raise the cap more than a single park does.

i have never seen that. you will need to grow your landfill as your population grows. 2x3 won't last long before it's full.

How do you attract mid-wealth sims?
Ziek replied to chickenfunk's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
If you don't zone 3x3 zones, High Wealth sims won't move in (i think). I don't believe there are Medium wealth sims that take up 3x3 zones. -
Ok. Cool. if there are none, then i will simply get rid of that mod. no harm no foul. Thanks N_O_Body.

I have a similar question. I downloaded the "No Maxis" mod, and it works to perfection. Unfortunately for me, when i implemented the No R$ mod, i got ZERO residential growth (in a new region). Apparently, with all of the mods/bats/lots I have installed, NONE of them were R$. does anyone have any good R$ bats/lots to download and use?

Min specs for new computer to play SC4
Ziek replied to EricJ's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
You are probably right Jab. Regardless, it made the game unplayable once you grew your city at all (>20,000). The large city tutorial that came with Rush Hour brought the game to it's knees when I had an ATI card. -

There used to be a bug when using ATI graphics cards. Not sure if it still exists or not. Probably not since I spent a lot of money on a good NVidia Card. But it is something I would research first. -
Hello. Newbie Here. I've been browsing through the STEX, and i've found tons of BATS that I would like to download to incorporate into my cities, but I am confused as to how to efficiently get all of the necessary dependencies. My main question is, it seems as if a lot of the dependencies are either gone, moved, or have their names changed from what the readme files say. I am looking for recommendations as far as an easy way to keep track of all of my dependencies, and make sure I have all of the dependencies that i need. Any thoughts?

you don't need a mod to do that. just query the building. There is a check box to "Make Historical".
-
I agree. I still consider myself a newbie. I downloaded the Industry Quadrupler and Residential Halver mods and installed them, thinking that it would make the game much more fun. However, I am having a much harder time keeping my sims employed now that there are fewer industrial zones on my map, with respect to residential zones. My commute time is getting out of hand. I need to rethinkg my start up strategy now.

you have to change the game settings resolution to 1024x768, then open the individual zone, and go back to region view. that will change the problem. Oh, this post is 4 months old. nevermind. lol

Unfortunately, I don't believe this is the case. At least not for me. When i set the resolution back up, the blue stripe does not come back, but the large zone (that i have developed) appears as a flat green empty zone.

Region not displaying Correctly
Ziek replied to JesseBrault0709's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
That does fix the problem. I had the same issue. However, when I go back to a different resolution, the large zone appears as a blank green square when I go back to the region view. Does this happen to everyone, or is it just a select few of us?
