I usually build my city in a grid layout at first so I can find my way easily to the target in UDI. After I get enough rewards, I start to have more diversity in my transport network.

Maybe someone could re mod the NAM to allow for 4 empty tiles inside. So the Arc de Triomph could fit. That's actually where the Arc de Triomph is located in real live Paris. By the way, if you cannot put in the Arc de Triomph, you could put in the Big Ben. It occupies only 1 tile.

I've got full demand for all 5 sectors of commercial demand and commercial desirability is green. My advisors are pestering me on to lack of commercial jobs in my city. And still, I can't get commercial development. I situated a bunch of landmarks near those commercial zones and nothing seems to work. Now people are leaving my city because of the lack of jobs. This is so irritating. Gargh! It sucks totally. What am I supposed to do?

I have a 100k+ city and everything goes well until I had this big residential building complaining about no job. I queried that building and realised that they travel all across my large city to the other end of my industrial hub. Anyway, they travel all the way there by highway. And they still complain. There's no congestion on that highway. Now what am I supposed to do? I cannot possibly upgrade that highway. There's nothing else to upgrade to. I also built monorails but only 1/4 of my city seem to use them. Ps I also had another problem. It seems that when I query those idiotic sims, the query shows that they actually drive through some buildings. The arrow goes right through the buildings. What am I supposed to do about this?

Um... What's PhysX by the way?

Dunno. I asked that question on the Unrelated Topics forum. They say if a program is not tampered with, it's a "vanilla". So the original SC4 should be a vanilla.

The Disease Research Centre is sort of weird. First thing, it's supposed to increase residential lifespan. And yet, it's radiation is killing people. Weirder still, it is housing patients. Don't you think those patients would be killed by the radiation?

I thought psteverific's farm region was cool. Lots of impressive curved roads.

I usually raise high wealth taxes to about 15% (and it was mighty good). Then I lower CO$$$ and C$$$ to about 5%. Then once my C$$$ and CO$$$ demand starts plummeting, I reduce high wealth taxes to normal. I worked for me.

Maybe Jeronij could come up with a road mod. I sort of liked those streets but my cities always complain about commute so I need to upgrade those streets to roads. And then I never get to see my beautiful streets again.

I think windmills would be a cheaper choice. You don't need so much power in the first place. And it doesn't pollute. Once the time is reached, your utilities advisor would start nagging about not enough power, then you plop more windmills until you get sick of it and want another alternative. But that's what I think is best. It depends on how the player likes it to be.

Actually, I just use a bunch of trees to cover those unsightly monorail overpasses.

I usually place the NAM pieces before I place the transit enabled lots.

I didn't quite like using cheats to play SC4. But since so many of you cheated, maybe I'll cheat too...

Same problem here. Couldn't get that bureau building. I raised funding for all my health and education services to 120% and nothing happens. That silly bureau just sits there in my rewards menu saying it's not available. It's just so irritating. Grrr. By the way, what does that bureau building do anyway?

How do I build bridges inland by dragging roads over deep trenches? Or alternatively, what is the depth needed to create a bridge? I tried all sorts of ways including digging crazily deep holes in the ground and I still cannot get it. I'm so fustrated. Grrr.

Just a tip for train missions: Build your rail network in a loop. Because after a while, you'll notice that you may not be able to turn about. SC4 is kind of stupid. The simulator calculates the most probable time you will take to reach your destination from your starting point. It doesn't care which way you are facing. So after a while, you will notice that you finally come to a dead end and your Mayor Rating goes down.

I was doing an experiment on commute times and I had this utterly lazy R$$$ sim who walks to his office (a college) right next door and his commute time was always fluctuating around 2 to 4. And to my horror, he says he's got no job.

I played SC4 for some time and everything was going well. Sometimes my game won't start up but I figured out reinstalling it would solve the problem. Now, I come across the strtup problem for te 3rd time and so I tried to reinstall it. To my horror, I could not install it after I uninstall SC4 Deluxe. I've got all sorts of Mods and Downloads from the STEX but it was alright before. What in the world is happening?

Could some BATter make the Orthanc of Isengard? I posted this before but then sim1234 told me that I should post it here. So here I am posting it here. Or someone could teach me how to BAT the Orthanc. That would be great. PS (For those who don't know, the Orthanc is that tower in Isengard where Saruman lives in.) Sorry I could not get pictures.
