  1. Hi. I love running rivers through my cities, and I'd like to be able to use ferries to transport people from my residential areas on one side of the river to the industrial zones on the other side. But whenever I plop down ferries on either side, I get nothing. I mean, the building plops down, but there's not capacity listed and all of the little icons are grey (like the apples in crowded schools). How do I get them working? Everything is normal - power, water, roads, at lowest possible elevation. Help! ~ Ian
  2. Transportation Add-Ons

Hi. I recently joined this site, and noticed an article or thread that mentioned a bunch of add-on transportation things, such as a ploppable item that says that no freight trucks can travel on that road, among others. I looked several places and could not find the file to download. Where might I find this item? -- A Very Transportationally Frustrated SimCity Player (damn commute times!) --- Ian

That would be pretty off the chain, as they say. quote> Yeah, like a macro thing that has been discussed in another thread. I've always thought that that would be cool to have. Also, a more recent thought of mine for SC5 - have a dialog at the start up (with the city naming window) that asks what kind of city you want to build (industrial mega center, bedroom community, upscale yuppie residential/comm center, hippie commune, ghetto, etc.) and so the game's intelligence could adapt and make appropriate comments. Just a little something to kick around... ~ Ian

Dude, where's the Space Needle! You can get it in the STEX... ~ Ian
  5. Commute Time BS

Hey, Peorth: How do I monkey with the pathfinding options and alter the speed and capacity options? I have the most recent version of both nam and simcity deluxe (with all patches) and a semi crummy computer. ~ Ian
  6. Commute Time Mod

I second what mrbarham has to say. I find it a constant problem where I can have a commericial section where there's like 300 jobs below max occupancy and a big neighborhood right nearby with a good mix of wealths, all with high living conditions and they still choose to travel across town (often over bridges since I like to do cities with rivers dividing the sections, kinda like Paris in real) to industrial jobs and then moan and groan about commute time. How can this be changed??? Gahh!!!
  7. NAM: Requests

Requests from isc9114: 1) make the tram pieces click-and-drag, not puzzle. EDIT: Also for highways, plz. 2) figure out a way where you can select a road segment and add lanes, like using a pop-up window or something, like they have for neighbor connections. 3) Seattle Monorail model That's all I can think of for now... give me time and I'll think of some other stuff... ~ isc9114 iancrinean@msn.com
  8. city connection via seaway

Ferries are great, but how the heck do I get the damn things to work? I've put them on the lowest elevation possible, with straight coastline, roads, power, and even water. I've given them another one on the other side of the river, but still I don't get a damn thing. They just don't work. What the heck am I doing wrong? If it helps, I have the deluxe version... Thx. ~ Ian
