I played city life, and i both like it and hated it. Liked it because of the neighbourhoods-thing, the nice graphics and the possibility of going to street-level. Hated it for it's difficulty (building some services in some neighbourhoods was too hard for me because it needed people from other neighbourhoods. i wasn't trying hard enough i guess), and for it's repetition, both in buildings, but also other things. And of course for not being SC4 . Anyway, just wanted to drop my opinion. Your CJ looks great, i see your city got a lot larger than the one i made :b. Nice work.

They did have zoning in Simcity Classic didn't they? Just in a different way.

Darn it. I'll have to do that then. (glad i don't have to start over at least ) edit: very radical indeed, 75% of all residential buildings are now dilapidated, and population down 20.000, but the farms are developing, so it was worth it! thanks for the help guys.

I have a relatively large city, on a large tile. About 1/3 of the map is covered up by the city. It has a medium-density commercial centre, and low-medium density residential all around it, and on the other side of a river is a large industrial centre. Now, i figured the other 2/3 of the map should be countryside, with a few villages, the highway, and a lot of farms. The villages develop succesfully, but not one of the farms have, resulting in me having a lot of open space, not good for anything. Please, why will the farms not develop?

Simcity 2/3000-style terraforming!!! SC4 still uses tiles, so why not? Takes a LOT of the hassle of of making stuff like sunken raliroads/highways/etc and waterfronts. Preserve the present type of terraforming too. Oh, and an oversimplificated way of making waterfronts quickly, with as little hassle as possible. (i'm both stupid and lazy at this, and some help would be nice :b) New draggable networks, such as GLR, rural highway, high speed rail, etc. Lastly, integration of the SC4Terraformer into the game. don't know if all are possible, but that's what i want.

You mean you want skyscrapers? As far as i know, you need 35.000 people living in your city, before residental scyscrapers will develop, and 45.000 commercial jobs, before commercial skyscrapers will develop, so you basically need to build wider, before you build higher . Oh, and if you want skyscrapers, remember to zone high density .
