  2. Sakhaliyan Peoples Republic

Well... I'm tidying up Khabarovsk right now for 'public viewing'... I spend alot of time at a low viewpoint getting all the details down, and, when I zoom back out again theres usually some huge ugly building built elsewhere where wich needs to come down. I've learnt my lesson from too many crashes so i'm saving often now, there's niot too much lost, although, when I re-installed my game all the tree's id planted over grass had dissapeared... so the city looked a little bare... i'm re-planting them though. -Request- I've been studying Communist and old Russian style cities and architecture and theres alot of 'Diagnalness' in buildings. If anybody know's where I can get some Diagonal Apartment buildings id be very greatful! Anyway... some replies- Schulmanator- Yeah, it was hard work... I could have worked some people to death for dramatic effect but I chose not to over all the Legal implications that killing people has... Penguin007- Thanks! But i'm afraid the Nuclear disaster Ship has sailed my friend... look at the Siberian Finale and you'll get what I mean Amerikaner- Heh, thanks... there's plenty of action going, yep, i've set myself some pretty large projects (most iv'e not mentioned yet )... I dunno how i'm gonna pull all my plan's off but i'll give it a try obviously... wouldn't be a CJ without trying Kant01- Hope you come back for more! The next update will be big one Manman99- Thanks! The update shouldn't be too long, I don't like keeping people waiting...
  3. China is largest greenhouse gas emmiter now

Yeah, Petrol prices are pretty bad at the moment but I don't think i've ever had a car that does under 50mpg. Look at this though- 'People in most European nations such as Italy and the United Kingdom pay five or even six dollars for each gallon of gas. In comparison, paying just over two dollars for gas in the United States doesn’t seem like that much.' So we pay TRIPLE that of what the US pays? Thats frigging crazy! -edit- Article- Clicky
  4. Sony slashes Playstation 3 price

Hope it gets dropped that much over here in Europe too... a

Stefan Makomov - 3rd Commissar of the Red Nerve Some Quick Replies- 2ch- Thanks very much! I hope so, lol... a Trixie would make the Sakhaliyan's Parade they're nukes every day! Jacqulina- Thank you, I enjoy doing the effect's! Schulmanator- Yes, It will come quite soon... no random crashes make's Sakhaliya productive!

STATUS REPORT 1.1 - BYERNOSK and the USRK ----------------------------------------------------- DA! I am back Comrades! This is a small Status report before we head on to a more 'detailed' briefing on the situation here and in the Balkya Provinces. Due to situation's beyond my control, the country has been on total lockdown for the past few weeks, the influx of Siberian refugee's was a little overwhelming and lets just say, some Capitalist purges befell our great nation (like high Unemployment, wich lead to high crime, wich lead to zero tolerance, wich lead to Martial Law)... but, the resulting concequences we're quite magnificent to behold... the birth of a new Province here in the Khabarovsk Krai! -------------------------------------------- United Socialist Republic of Khabarovsk Little I known about how the existance of this country came around, i'm sure new light will be shed on things in the coming weeks. Obviously, we are trying to keep relation's with the USRK as High as possible, our countries are together, brothers in arms in the struggle against the borgiousie (wow, I flatter myself with seriousness)... of course, they may not share our open arms and, if so... lets just say it's DEFINITELY made Premier Buriya hurry along the Nuclear programme... ah, did I just say that? Bah... who cares... its only a little one! ^Possible size of the Nukes we have^ Anyway... on a less depressing note, during the lockdown the Administration took it apon its self, while everybody was under Curfew, to construct an entire new City... BYERNOSK. It's location is to the East of Khabarovsk under the shadow of MT.Davidov, its main purpose I guess is to house extra Industry AWAY from Khabarovsk to make way for some fresh Commerce ( maybe surprisingly to you, Sakhaliya embraces free enterprise) and housing, meaning it must have good road and rail links to the Capital to cope with the influx of commuters... Bus travel is not a problem, the Sakhaliyan bus network is second to none in this part of the world. A typical Sakhaliyan bus on a typical winter's day The town itself is already well developed... thanks to our copious amounts of pre-fabricated concrete (Gorchenko wanted to build an underground city for when the Nukes fell... ah, those were crazy crazy days). I'm guessing they used the concrete to building the Factories and Powerplant first, before taking the time to build some nice Concrete homes for the Siberian radioactive masses (so they keep those Gamma rays to themselves!)... In Soviet Russia for fullsize... Image Clicks You So... yes... we are back on track now my Comrades. Thanks you for dropping by to witness my brief status report... the last for a while now I assue you. Next time... I shall collate some images for a 'Show' on our beautiful nation... Dasvidanya!

  11. Toronto VS. New York

New York is one of those places I'd love to visit but just seems too 'generic' for a holiday to the America's... I guess Toronto is the same in a respect. I could spend all day weighing the Pro's and Con's of both... but take this into concideration- My Uncle visited New York not that long ago... one day he was out on the streets, sitting on a bench. He sneezed VERY loudly and a Passer by dropped to the ground and started shouting 'DONT' SHOOT! DONT' SHOOT!'... is New York really THAT bad?? I love New York, but i'd rather visit the City with the more sanity... so i'm saying Toronto.
  12. Bad Reviews

I, for one, am hoping SimSoc DOES get bad reviews... it'll should make make EA sit up and listen. Shame C&C3 never got that much bad press... I think it got EA got off lightly with that one... SimSoc is different though... I'm sure plenty of people in the Gaming Mag biz grew up with Sim City as one of their main influences in gaming, and to see it be CHANGED so dramatically won't have a positive effect.
  13. Simtropolis Mall

Think I could pull off marketing... You got a Graphic Designer with a Higher National Diploma right here <<<
  14. Do You Remember

I first got Sim City for the Snes when I was 5 or 6... I didn't understand it at all, I just remember clicking on the Boston Nuclear Meltdown scenario because it was pretty cool. After a while though, after a few years, I started to learn how to build in the game... It was much like the original but had much better graphic's (haha, yeah... back in the days when Console graphic's beat PC's) than the PC version. I remember my first Metropolis that I built when I was 7... I think I just named it Hong Kong or something, but it was awesome. Made me stick to the Sim City franchise... well, untill now... with SimSoc... jeezus, they ruined everything!!
  15. This dude called me a donkey ...

Nevah! I'm THE DONKEY! El Burro in Spanish is 'The Donkey'
  16. Blurred Vision when moving

Well... I took out all my plugins and was still there. Only thing I can think of that it could be is the new Driver I downloaded for my Gforce 7650. I'm reinstalling SC4 at the moment to see if... oh, its installed now lol. Seem's to have fixed it... now I have to install Rush Hour however... could be different... have to wait and see... -EDIT- Its working now... phew... when in doubt, re-install
  17. United Socialist Republic of Khabarovsk

LOL... no, I was mocking my own
  18. Sakhaliyan Peoples Republic

Oh, sorry Justintime, lol... I totally forgot! I won't forget next time Ach... anyway... i've hit a snag in SC4... i'm gonna post it in the bugs section but it looks like I MAY have to re-install the game My region looks like this... like they've drugged the water supply-
  19. Sakhaliyan Peoples Republic

Ah... the inspiration that I thought was dead has just sprung back into life because of Justintime's new CJ... 'United Socialist Republic of Khabarovsk'... I don't care the name of the country is the same as Capital of Sakhaliya, the Russian's were infamous for changing City names from time to time... you can kinda tell where that's going... lol. Anyway... I am promising a REAL update REAL SOON with PICTURE'S of CITIES, FARMS and all that modern stuff you seem to lust after... Commissar Makomov has his new Camera and is itching to get back in that Hind for some Arial shots!
  20. United Socialist Republic of Khabarovsk

Thankfully for them, Sovatnya is accepting Refugee's... Horatia on the other hand, not so kind... ah... good old Police States...
  21. United Socialist Republic of Khabarovsk

Now this is a surprise! A new Nation right on top of my Sakhaliyan head! I guess all those poor Siberian's need a place to stay... you can have them!!! The health services can't cope with the amount fo Radiation related illnesses they have. Anyway... i'll make sure to build some nice minefields along our borders... just in case On... and a few roads... I wouldn't want you missing out on the local Sakhaliyan Rakya Keep it up!
  22. Sakhaliyan Peoples Republic

Nyet! The Island is glorious property of the CHP! Commissar Makomov tell's me that Sakhaliya is going though some 'Administration problems' and therfor cannot attend to his duties as such for the time being. All will be well soon however; in his own fractured English, "Hang in there dude, kay?!"
  23. Industry 40 X employment

Thank god for this... I need my Industry to provide more jobs becuase my little Communist state has unemployed people in it :(
  24. Aye, 3000 was the best seller... I came to 3000 pretty late (2001) but I enjoyed it SOOOO much. I think what turned people off SC4 was over complication... I mean, I loved SC2K and 3K because you could get Skyscrapers pretty early on in the game, whereas SC4 took ages before you got to a Skyscraper stage... and even then, you needed to meet various demands to get them (like low pollution, low traffic noise, large amount of Customers ect). SCSoc isn't aimed at the Sim City fans but the sounds of things... its very Simsy... I hate that. Im not buying the game anymore anyway from the amount of bad stuff they PR's at EA are trying to sell us... everytime someone from EA or TM opens their mouths its just more and more bad news, like "Great News guys! We've just added Roads made from Candy Canes... how cool is that!!?" Umm... not very, TM... to be honest...deleted -admin

SC4 could be alot better... and EA are scwandering their Sim City time away with this stupid Sim City Societies game, when really, they should be focusing on a real SEQUEL to Sim City 4! This may sound ambitious... but this game WILL be the (unofficial) sequel to Sim City 4...
