  1. TwinPineapples Works In Progress

I'm now doing a car project where I can actually race it around through my cities...at least I wish I could. First I need to complete the car, then find a way to get it in-game. I'm really looking forward to this. *Note* The pics below are clickable, and hosted on another server. *End note* ----- ----- ----- Comments, critiques, and help offers are accepted as usual.

Here's one of those futuristic powerplants that converts the ocean's waves into electric...I call it the Powerwave. ****
  3. BAT Help - Render Related Issues

Date: 11/5/2005 10:17:23 AM Author: realdimension Unfortunately, I have followed Bixel's instructions but it still don't work... I have tried to export the model in two parts but it don't work. Maybe my model takes too much tiles ( 27 tiles x 27 tiles ).quote> Well, 27x27 is HUGE, afaik. Keep in mind a 1x1 tile = 16 meters x 16 meters in the game, and a meter is a few inches over one yard (3ft)...I think that's the size... ========================= My question, is there bicubic anti-ailiasing for renders? And how do I render a viewport, or is Gmax incapable of rendering (besides BAT)?
  4. I think what GrandpaAl is saying is if your BAT/prop has a lot under it, and is ready to be placed into the game, it goes in the lot section. If there isn't a lot under it, it's still a BAT/prop. My questions: which file suffix do I up-load for a Lot? What about a prop? And a BAT? Can't I just up-load the *.gmax file for BAT and prop models? So fill in the ??? with the file suffix: Lot=??? BAT=??? Prop=???

Thanks, the lighting was giving me a lot of trouble until I turned off the ray-traced shadows. Here are the in-game shots: ---- ---- ---- ---- And now my Daily Planet lights-up! ---- ==== Ok, if I did the HTML correctly, you should be able to click the pics to get the larger pics. Feed-back is always welcomed.

A nice mountain side chateau/lodge. I'll have it in-game by this evening, and the screenie by 10:00pm CST. Perspective viewport:

Ugh...finally! You've probably spotted a few problems with the lot, right? I know. My worst problem though is the dang lights won't light-up in the game...but in the BAT they do! Here's the lit version:

Thanks to the Anim8or program I was able to do the planet sign in about 5 minutes, including text. Um...is there an anti-ailiasing for the renders? The edges seem too jagged, even on high quality... Well, here it is:

Thanks. My next project (after I finish this one) will probably be a park that looks like an Amish farm. I think that would be neat. About the Daily Planet, should I change the planet/sphere to look like this? Picture Deleted due to exceeding the sites picture limitations, please keep all pics under 800*600 pixels, Superstar

Sorry for the double-post... Here it is at night with lights: Keep in mind it's still a WIP.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Here's an update:

For me, bump maps won't show on the model. I used a black & white map. Umm...Black is dent, and white is bump...correct? I applied it after I did all the UV stuff, which I know I did right. The sphere in the material editor shows my desired bumps, but the model won't. I even made the bump map value at 100%...nothing. I figured that mabe I need a shadow-casting light, but that didn't work either. I'm stuck here, and I'm not going to model every window; the render time is long enough as it is. Any ideas?
  13. First off, let me introduce my self; I am TwinPineapples. I wanted the name TwinPineapple (my Gamer Tag on Live) for this site, but never got the confirmation e-mail, and had to re-register. Oh, well. You may call me Twin, Pineapple(s), but not TP! Other forums you'll see me in: www.anim8or.org (Dark Crusader) s13.invisionfree.com/TheGrid/index.php www.neoseeker.com and here at ST. For those who'd like to see my final renders gallery, go to DC's Gallery . Ok! SimCity time! My first 2 models were merely tests, so I won't show them. I'm getting the hang of Gmax and BAT, and my first real model is of the more futuristic The Daily Planet. FYI, Superman's works there. I learned from my dad that the origional (and most recognized) Daily Planet building is infact modeled after the Los Angeles City Hall. So I'm re-doing The Daily Planet to look like the origional. Here they are: I'd appreciate it if you guys would wait until I'm finished before the more talented show-me-up. I hope to be a regular here, as I love SC4. Comments & Crits welcomed.
  14. Plug-in Manager - Help

How can I tell if the object is too big? What should the max dimensions be in BAT for a 3x3 lot?
  15. Plug-in Manager - Help

Why won't LE recognize my models made in BAT? I used the PIM just as instructed, but when I do replace building all I see are the buildings that came with the game. My models are nowhere to be found. Any ideas?
