Fair enough, being one of the fellow derogatorites I feel a few concerns here. 1) They are coming right out and telling us it's not what we've been playing 2) There are two trends in software development - a) Years of waiting = Quality and b) Throwing something out there to keep the name buzzing = Disaster. I think things people are worrying about are the recent attempts at games such as Railroads (a sandbox version of Railroad Tycoon) and Caesar IV, etc. etc. the list goes on. With computer processors and graphics cards having increased and console games coming out with physics that boggle the mind, the SimCity franchise deserves to come out with a first time screenshot that leads us to cry to ourselves with joy; not outrage and the article that Tilted Mill followed up with proves our dismay. I'm sure as a game; Tilted Mill will make a playable fun game for some, but for diehard SimCity fans who have spent painstaking detail to make their cities as realistic as possible, this is a direct blow.

I've never had someone tell me they are releasing a product that is completely the opposite of what we want; and some how try to twist it so that it doesn't sound so offensive. You gotta love these guys..! Ugh...Maybe SC6..?
  3. Never Go Bankrupt Again

Just a few things I do to keep things simple: Raise all taxes to 9.5% (not much but seems to help without slowing down city growth) Zone regions (all low-density for Residential at first), water, power Crank the speed to the highest setting Wait for schools until you have a population big enough to plot down the larger High School and Grade School Hold off on Health, Fire and Police until getting messages about it, warnings or fires Do not start zoning higher density residential until all available area is zoned with low density (keeps wealth up)This seems to work pretty consistently and I have rarely had to fight for income, I hope this helps
  4. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

There's not too much here, but this is my region of 650,000 sims and I have just connected most of it to the highway system. I've been pretty happy with this accomplishment and feel I have a pretty good system going, one thing I noticed was the corners of cities being a hotbed for traffic and in the middle I have created a system to burn up some of that traffic from each region. I know this is no where near the amazing screenshots I have seen in these posts, but I wanted to participate by providing at least something... Thanks for the great content and discussions.
