The where and what of mass transit in SimCity 3000

When you decide to put some mass transit into your city, there are a few things to consider:

1. Do not put bus stations in commercial, or industrial zones, no one will ride the busses, and your transportation adviser will inform you that your mass transit system is messed up.
2. Put all your bus stations in your residential zones, closely together, it helps road traffic to go down, your average "passengers per day" count will be from 250-500.
3. If you are going to put rail roads in, consider the following: the trains will be heavily used anywhere you put them, mostly in the industrial zones. The people will complain that the stations are way too crowded. If you do put in rail roads, put them in right when you start your city, and feel free to put lots of rail road tracks and stations.
4. Subways only help in the commercial and residential zones, but mostly in the commercial. It works best when your commercial demand is very high, and you have a high count of commercial buildings. If you do build subways, make plenty of stations, just like the bus stations, you can't have too many.

Those are just a few tips that I have uncovered while I have been playing SimCity.
