Here's an alternative of the boulevards (two roads joined together)that sometimes may lead to some traffic congestion at their ends. It's very simple: instead of joining the two parallel roads, place them with a space of one tile between them, then using the "all buildings cheat", fill the space with the green lawn and you'll get a beautiful and large avenue. A crossing with a similar avenue will generate a sort of round-about which you can fill with a fountain for example. The result is very neat and effective.
