Note: the following tip suggests editing your registry. Proceed with caution. It is recommended that you back up your registry before making any changes to it.
This tip tips pertains to the "Can't find SimCity" error that may show up when installing SimCity 3000 add-ons downloaded from the SimCity.com site. Thomas Clermont writes the following:
I think I must have had an error in my first installation of SimCity 3000, so I installed it again only to find out that a registry entry was missing. If you add the following line and edit it to match your system, you will be all done:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App aths\SC3.EXE] "Path"="E:\\SimCity 3000\\Game" @="E:\\SimCity 3000\\Game\\SC3.EXE"
Just make sure that the path is exact to your SimCity 3000\Game directory and that you use 2 \\ and not just 1.
