I needed to add on a ton of room for parkland without haveing to restart the region from scratch or other ways i rendered 3 other seperate regions for the space i needed. the only thing i have to do now is photoshop the 4 regions together at the end before i post the full region. this will take some work and new challenges for me matching up the regions.... lots of counting.... but i think it will work out great click on image for larger view.. it is very very large, 33M, be warned!

I have laid out the avenues and rail lines i am going to build. black lines are avenues green lines are highways yellow lines are rail/lrt the yellow and blue dots are lrt stops the red dots are commuter rail stops the large blue polygon is where the airport will go click to view larger image

New Direction

I have taken a new direction in Parkland. I got bored with the flat land of old Parkland. so i merged two of my favorite maps together, vancouver and montreal, found here on the stex by a simple search, and created this map below. it has some of the same layout as the old parkland, but with more scenery and hills and a lot nicer to look at. im excited to get started on this new chapter of Parkland.... click here to see larger full size image

I have taken a very new approach to Parkland... I have always thought about doing this, but finally got enough guts to completly change the city... still focused on realism... but without the highways downtown... like many many large cities, parkland has done away with the downtown highways and replaced them with urban boulevards.... you can see a vrey great example at this site : http://www.planofnashville.com/ here are the before and after pics... I have made more highways around the city... in an effort to make it a realistic large city.... i took ques from tulsa ok, nashville tn, and many other souhtern and midwestern cities for this layout. click on image for larger view... it is very very large... you have been warned...

Just a teaser, but just to show you how much it has changed, there is a new connecter highway on the east side of downtown and much much more..... compare it to the other updates i have had to see the change. rail has been moved underground or below grade to most portions of the downtown loop the new highway to the east of downtown is below grade form the southern highway to the northern highway the rail station has been movbed outside the downtown loop, on a propsed light rail line to connect it to the...
