Silverthorn is also one of the town in the "undesirable" part of the Rocklin Metro Area. While more suburban than nearby Camden, the large town has high instances of crime and joblessness.

The city comprises of more low density buildings as we move further out from downtown.

Nevertheless, many smog producing factories abound in this area. The majority of people are very poor.

There is one exception to this town, a new development next to the one moderately successful

elementary school in the area proves to offer much green space in a small community.
