Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Today, we are taking a look at one of the world's most iconic cities, Rio de Janeiro. With its friendly residents, tropical weather, iconic buildings, and amazing beaches - it's not hard to see why it's one of Brazil's most popular destinations and a one of a kind city that you won't want to miss.
Our trip to Rio begins with a look over the famed Copacabana Beach. From FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups, concerts, celebrations, and much more - it's become a destination that's known the world over.

Built as the main venue for the 1950 World Cup, the famous Maracana Stadium has served as the home of Brazil's national football team ever since.
Rio is unfortunately a city of severe wealth inequality - despite it's many luxurious apartments and skyscrapers, many still have to live in extreme poverty. Huge favelas line the hillsides and mountains like the one below.
Next is a look over Downtown Rio - the economic, financial, and business center of the city, and is also home to many important banks and corporations.
The Rio-Niteroi Bridge was completed in 1974 and crosses the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi, making it a vital transportation link in the city. It's currently the second longest bridge in all of Latin America.
Located at the mouth of Guanabara Bay, it's hard to miss the imposing Sugarloaf Mountain - named for its resemblance to a loaf of refined cane sugar. For an even better view, you can take a cable car to the top of the mountain for some impressive overviews of the bustling city and harbour below.
The last stop we'll be making on our trip around is city is none other than the world famous Christ the Redeemer statue. Sitting atop of Corcovado Mountain, its a cultural icon of the city.
And finally - another look over the iconic Redeemer with Rio's harbour and Sugarloaf Mountain in view.
