So what do you think? Are they right or are they just trying to famous.

If it's true the Nile will be over 100ks longer and books will have to be re-writtin!

If you follow the premise of multiple points of origin, the Mississippi River could also count the Missouri and Ohio Rivers as points of origin.

Any river of resonable size has mutipe sources: It's own, and one for every branch of every tributary into it. If you look on a list of the top ten world's longest rivers, you'll notice that "Mississippi" isn't on there, but "Mississippi-Missouri" is. That's becuase if you start from the Mississippi delta and travel up river to the Missouri Headwaters in Western Montana, you'll travel farther than if you went straight up to the Mississippi Headwaters in Minnesota.

the article states only what the explorers claim. Note, explorers, i"m an explorer every time i try to find the bedroom. these apparently are not geographers nor scientist. even if they were their claims are unfounded until confirmed by the geographical/science community. until then it might just as well be a april fools joke even if real. besides, if you want to split hairs over the source of the nile, you could probably point to any of half a dozen elephants lifting their legs.

No, this isn't an April Fools joke, mantis. They claim it starts in Rowanda... but I doubt it. But who knows, anything is possible I guess. Exactly, skink. These explorers could be people who claimed they got to the beginning of the river.
