How Does SC4 Pick Up The Downloads?

I am very new to the concept of modding SC4.  I downloaded a couple of buldings (plop-in types).  I put them into individual folders under My Docs\SC4\Plugins.  When I restart SC4, none of the new building are available, even if I use the "you don't deserve it" cheat.  Is there an installation process I need to follow before restarting SC4?

Also, after I download NAM, how do I get that to be part of the game?  NAM sounds like something I really want.

OK, the NAM you need to unzip and run the installer. And yes, it is a MUST-have. As for BATs, they should appear in-game as soon as you put them in your plugin folder. Do you have deluxe/rush hour? If not then there's your problem, it is needed to use most everything off the STEX. If you do have it...which buildings are you try to use? Perhaps you're looking in the wrong menu. Yes, I have the Deluxe version.  Should the plug-ins be unzipped into the plugin folder or unzipped into a folder under the plugin folder?  I've tried it both ways.  I downloaded the Coast Casino (Coast Casino_4c1dc818).  Plus I've downloaded the Vinnie zip.

Some plugins have to be unzipped into the plugins forlder.  Others can be unzipped into a folder inside the plugins folder.   Read the "readme" file for more information regarding any specific plugin.

As for PMing someone, click on the little guy with the bubble (he's right next to the printer icon in the upper right-hand corner of a person's post).  Also, in my signature, you can click on the "Got a question?" link and it will open a PM window that you can ask me any SimCity or Simtropolis question you'd like.
