have any of you got "wallace & Gromit 3 cracking adventures" on dvd?

well if you have then you will probaly notice that when gromit opens his birthday card from wallace, the music from that plays inside the card is "he's a jolly good fellow" or something like that.

well on an old taped version of the same episode (which i taped many years ago) the music played when gromit opens his birthday card is completely different, it is "Happy Birthday".

does anyone know why that is?

The rights to "Happy Birthday" in the United States are owned by Time Warner, specifically Warner Music Group.

Originally, you probably saw the UK version (not sure what the rights for the song are there). Your DVD version is the North American one and the producers probably didn't want to pay for the rights to use the "Happy Birthday" song.

"For He's A Jolly Good Fellow" is in the public domain.

Wait, someone actually owns the rights to "Happy Birthday? 47.gif

I also was not aware there was a DVD out of that....

Okay, well, thanks for the info. Now I most certainly won't be buying the DVD.

We own all three of the original Walace and Gromits on VHS (A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, and A Close Shave).
