Update problems

Ok so when ever I try to update from the sim city offical site after installing it comes up with this message "update installed: old file not found. However, a file with the same name was found. no update done because file contents do not match.i have update 1.1.610.0 installed an i'm trying to update to 1.1.638.0

Which file is it? Maybe post the log or something. Because if any of your files got messed up, you may need to reinstall Simcity

I just installed sim city 4 again on saturday. and what do you mean by the log?

download manually... or start a new with Grey's thread. (If you download patches or updates before, find the old patch log and delete it )

any cities plugins or regions should be backed up somewhere safe before re-installing....just in case...

if you go manually...make sure you get the proper update for your game...there are different updates for different parts of the world...you don't need them all, just your version is needed...installing the wrong one will mess things up

grab all the other official stuff Lot Editor...BAT...bat light fix ...the props and all of the landmarks...you will NEED these files

ps...make sure you log on to the offical site for the links to downloads to appear...

Thanks sort of. unfourtnatly a while ago i forgot my password to simcity.com and the e-mail address was an old one that i can't get onto  and i don't have a serial number that wasn't used.
