Even though I got a AMD 3500+ processor and 2 gb of ram, not to mention my kickass graphics card, the game has gone unplayble slow after my city reached 500.000 inhbt. I do have about 250mb. in the plugins folder, which I don't see beeing to much. I do defragt my hd now and then, and my virtual mem is on max 4096mb. The time just stops on a regular basis, and sometimes the game kinda freezes. I do have the latest patches installed. Just uninstalled and reinstalled, deleting the file in my docs, didn't help. And what's further contributing to my rage, is the annoying bug or whatever it is, automaticly lowering my power funds again and again, to a level not able to power up the whole city!

Any sugestions from the wise simaholicks outthere? Please understand my pain of not beeing able to see mybaby further grow...

    Welcome to our conversation.

It sounds to me like you have one or more bad plugins. Some are known to cause the problem with decreasing funding, but there are too many to recount. Perhaps someone else can help.

Try taking all your plugins out of the game. Move them to a folder away from SC, and try the game. You will get lots of brown boxes, but how does it run? If it runs correctly, then you should start putting your plugins back, a few at a time until the problem occurs again.

You take the last group out again, then put them back one by one until you get the problem. Then you know which one it is, and can omit it from further play.

In future, plugins should be placed in the game one at a time, and tested to be sure that they do not harm the current set, and are working correctly. Tedious, but really necessary since testing of this stuff is impossible for the authors because of the millioons of different machines and millions of combinations of plugins. Sometimes these things fall over each other.
