Technical issue: playing SC4 RH of a External Harddrive

hello

i've a external harddrive since 2 months  and i want all my games on it. SC4 RH too. can i play sc4 RH from a external hdd with all my plugins and savegames?

My wife has an external hard drive, but hasn't tried this. There is a way to move your My Documents folder to any hard drive, so it should work.

In order to move your SC4 regions you have to have them under My Documents. So, simply move that directory to your external drive. The system can't tell that a hard drive is external.

You should

1. Save your plugins and regions
2. Uninstall SC4
3. Move your My Documents folder
4. Install SC4 + RH on your external drive
5. Restore your regioins and plugins

Someone, maybe Sam Flash, can tell you how to move your folder over. I don't know the O/S well enough to direct you infallably.

i've already installed SC4 RH on my ext hdd, it is a shame all the files SC4 needs can't be in one directory
