Crossing the street

When sims go to a mass transit stop across the street from their house, do they just walk across the street (where the distance would be one tile), or does the path software make them walk all the way down to an intersection where they can use a crosswalk to cross the street (which would be the distance from the house to the intersection x2) ? i i Bus Stop i i ------------------------ ------------ ------------------------ ------------ House i i i i

They'll cross a road or street directly to the transit station. However, they can only cross avenues at intersections.
